thanks for the link FG, wish mine had gone like that!

The wedding was lovely, a really happy occasion and lots of fun was had by all. DH did his usual trick of seriously overestimating his alcohol tolerance (its much lower than mine, something he has never really come to terms with ) so I had 3 kids to look after the morning after, when, of course, the DTs woke earlier than ever, despite having gone to bed later than ever - why does that always happen?

I've got a bit behind with things on here so will try to catch up now. DH has taken the DTs to the railway museum and I was meant to be off for a facial and massage but have done my back in so can't even get in the car let alone drive there and climb up on the table I may need medicinal chocolate and alcohol later

frumpygrumpy · 20/04/2007 14:03

I'm up for the medicinal chocolate and alcohol

I have avoided all alcohol through the week for two weeks, indulging only at weekends. I do feel better for it and, tbh,I wanted to see if it was a habit I had formed. It was. Its been much too easy to open my bar every night, home alone, nice thing to do when the children's tea is being dished up and then another, and another........ So, I've kicked my arse off the bar stool and any minute now the excess fat on my body will just drop right off and into a Tesco bag for me to lift into the wheelie bin

How is everyone's Friday?

Charleymouse, how did it go yesterday?

Hello all, kelly must be lovely to have them in pre school!!!

C section date booked for 11th May. This baby is footling breech still and very happy where he is. They offer ECV and accupuncture but i know he can go head down, he just flips back.

DS#4 was 9lb and shoulder dystocia so im not brave enough to attempt a vaginal breech with a baby bigger than he was. Consultant was nice though and would have supported me whatever decision i made, which makes a change!

So as long as he stays in 4 the next 3 weeks that will be his birthday...how very odd

Kelly1978 · 20/04/2007 16:23

I found it strange having a more planned expectancy date too! At least you can start researching all the interesting things he shares his birthday with.

oooggs · 20/04/2007 20:00

largeg&t - feeling ready for a coffee in the city centre now if you are up for it!!!!!

mon, wed or thurs cos them ds1 is a pre school and I will have me hands full with dt's

Overrun · 20/04/2007 20:11

Hi all, good luck with your c section Lg&T, I think dt2 was a footling breech, I know he was breech but can't quite remember if I saw his bum or his feet over the sheet
Hi FG, glad that things are going well for you, I stopped drinking in the week a few years back prior to dcs actually as a way of cutting down. Although I think I only did it MOnday to thursdy (cop out I hear you cry)
Hi Kelly, sorry to hear about your ds, but glad that it is going okay with your dts. My dts are starting nursery next tuesady.
I didn't manage to get them potty trained, they just are not ready, so they are going to take them in trainer pants, thank god.
The stomach bug that has swept through our family hasn't helped either.
Ding dong, lovely photo, I must update mine.
Hi every one else

MarsLady · 20/04/2007 20:38

Will be thinking of you during your c-birth... if you need any tips on how to make it more personal email me. I have a c-birth plan that you might find handy.

devondoris · 20/04/2007 22:13

Ummmm, we have the pox... FG, I seem to remember you all having it not long ago and that your DD had it round her bits - any tips on alleviating it other than calamine lotion and medised? My DD has them everywhere - in her ears, throat, mouth, bits, armpits, and all over her body.

Any other suggestions would be most gratefully received. DT1 also has it, but just smiles through it. DT2 is brewing and it will probably be the end of his world!

Thanks all!

triplets · 21/04/2007 04:57

Good morning everyone and please note the time, its almost 5am and I have been awake since 3am with this horrible tinnitus and am feeling soooooooooo fed up! I need a 5 bedroom house so we can all have our own room, so I can sit up and read when I cant sleep. DH huffs and puffs if I put the light on, so I end up here feeling very alone and fed up! Already done the ironing and now thinking of making a curry for later, got soooooo much to do this w/end, cooking a lunch party for 14 on Sun so had planned to do alot of the prep in the morning, besides doing homework with the trio, taking James to his drama class, then going to visit my Mother!! Cant make any noise incase I wake the kids, one of mine has his arm in a sling, rolled off of the sofa onto the carpet and fractured his left clavicle! Still havent sold the house, the two we were interested in have both been sold this week, so feeling fed up all round! Need a break, havent had a family break since last Oct unlike us, saving for our big hols in the summer. Not moaning really, just need to sleep! Hope you are all in fine fettle!

triplets · 21/04/2007 05:00

Devondoris, just remembered when my three had the pox we used something called Eurax lotion, something like that, it was amazing, stopped the itching and cleared up the spots really quickly. Or was that what I used on the cats for fleas???????

triplets · 21/04/2007 05:11

Just googled it for you and it is Eurax, you cant use it if the skin is broken but its really effective in the early stages. I sooo remember my three having the dreaded pox, it was dare I say it, 5 years ago on the eve of my 50th b/day. We had planned to go to France without them just for two nights with my very best friends, when Thomas got it, by 6am the next morning number two had it, phoned my brother who was going to look after them for the w/end and he felt he couldnt cope with it! My friends had arrived from Cornwall to go to France with us so we all ended up going, and by 5pm on my big day I had 3 very spotty children. My local pharmacist recommended the lotion and to be honest the pox was not a problem! Hope that helps.

triplets · 21/04/2007 05:15

OH NO EVEN THE BIRDS ARE JUST WAKING UP!

1becomes3 · 21/04/2007 11:42

Just a quick hello while I have 30secs.

Have been doing some babymooning and it has been working a treat Zed is feeding really well, I am feeling more rested and less frantic.
The house is a bloody tip but TBH I don't care.
I have been intouch with home-start and they are sending someone round to see me to see if I need help, (I don't think there will be any question of that when they see what a tip I live in)
I even have a new cleaner starting in a couple of weeks, so it is all looking a bit better round here.

Dd is still being a little sod but only when she is tired and I am feeding them.

Thank you for all the advice and support with a special thanks to Mars

Overrun · 21/04/2007 14:35

Good to hear from you 1becomes3, glad that things seem a little easier for you Triplets, poor you, thats too early a start.
Devondoris, my three have just had the pox. I find it quite amazing how they all had it in different strengths, i used good old calomine, but dt1 was happy for me to apply it, while dt2 who had it most badly, wouldn't let us help him.
At least with the dts at the age yours are, they can't really scratch too much. The other tip I had, that worked quite well, was tepid/warm baths to cool the skin down and ease irritation.
Hope it all passes soon, the problem with such a long incubation period, that mine had it over about 6 weeks

Kelly1978 · 21/04/2007 16:15

sorry to hear you were up so early triplets, hope you've had a better day?

overun, glad you got the nursery/potty trainging thing sorted out, will be thinking of you on tuesday. Mine will be doing their second day then. I'm hoping to train mine during the summer holiday but at the moment they think the idea of a potty is hilarious, so I haven't high hopes! My preschool won't change poos so atm if they do something I am expected to go in and change them.

1becomes3, glad things are settling down for you, hang on in there. {{{{hugs}}}}

Overrun · 21/04/2007 18:08

Snap Kelly, I have a feeling that I will be back and forth , but it will be worth it. Just worried about how I will handle not one but two clingy children if that is the case.
We shall see

MarsLady · 21/04/2007 18:44

1b3................. You go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bendadryl is better than calamine. And use Piriton.... for the pox I mean.

tkband3 · 21/04/2007 22:24

Lovely to hear things are getting a bit more bearable 1b3.

Re the pox, I heard that a teaspoon of bicarb of soda in the bath does wonders but I've not had to try it yet myself. Still waiting for that joy to descend on this household .

Mars am going to be down your way on Tues getting DD1's hair cut...fancy a coffee?

My two were supposed to stay for just a visit on Friday at pre-school but we ended up staying for the whole session and I even snuck out for about 20 mins - DTs were perfectly happy, it was DD1 who was all soppy with me there. Supposed to be leaving them there on Tuesday for their first solo session - like you Overrun it'll be interesting to see whether they'll cling or not. Not quite sure what will happen if they poo whilst they're there...I don't live far away so can always get back there to do the honours, but I'm sure I have seen them changing other children. Planning on tackling the potty training in the summer...not really looking forward to it though I must say.

triplets, I'm sure you're well tucked up in bed by now having been up since 3am, but just wanted to say hope you have a better night tonight and a lovely lunch party tomorrow.

MarsLady · 22/04/2007 20:12

tkandb... what time are you down my way Tuesday? Cos if it's early I'm having breakfast with friends at Giraffe 9.30 till they all leave really. You're welcome to join us. I'll be the gorgeous one with the shaven head. I'll bring my MN tote bag

look away if your twins haven't been born yet lol!

largeginandtonic · 22/04/2007 21:34

OOOGS.... have i left it too late?? A meet would be great on wednesday or monday this week!! We can meet in the coffee shop in Dingles, nice and big and child friendly or the starbucks in the new bit also nice. Hooray......cant wait! Hope you are ok.

Oh no the dreaded pox, im still dodging it with Hugo, all the others have had it. Eurax is fabby

Mars the c-section birth plan would be very useful. Thank you [email protected]

Hope the rest of you are ok. Im 37 weeks today!! Cant believe it

triplets · 22/04/2007 21:48

Thanks tkband,
The lunch party was not for me, I do abit of private catering, helps pay for new school shoes! Did get a better night last night, though I never ever sleep thru the night, would be bliss to. Kids were all on parade this afternoon with the Cubs, marched along the seafront in glorious sunshine! Right I am off to bed, got over 300 pages of a book to read for our book club and time is running out!

tkband3 · 22/04/2007 22:19

Mars we're not there till the afternoon - hair appt at 4pm so free from about 4.15 onwards. If not, will see you at the Mile for Maude.

And there was me thinking you were having a sophisticated lunch party triplets...oh well, hope it went well anyway and you earnt lots for summer school shoes .

speedymama · 23/04/2007 11:22

Marslady, that video link is hilarious!

1becomes3, I'm glad that you are feeling better.

DH and I cannot decide if we want to have another child or not. He says that we don't need to have another one because we have the DTS who are now 3yo but he feels that another child (or two )would only enhance our family. I feel the same way. Sometimes, I feel, yes definitely go for it and then I think, hang on, I'm 42yo, I'm started to get my life back, do I really want to go through all that again.

Decisions, decisions!

estar · 23/04/2007 11:42

any thoughts for me ladies?

speedymama, we were in the same position a few months ago - had three and both kind of wanted four but knew it was madness, and I was counting down till they were all at school, etc....but something in me really wanted to try, and eventually that something won and I am now fourteen weeks pregnant .

Some days I wonder what on earth I've done when the boys are being totally manic, but at the same time, I'm so excited!

Give it a few weeks to see if it's temporary broodiness, but if you start looking for an imaginary third as you put them in the car or pick them up from mursery, that's a good indication!

speedymama · 23/04/2007 12:10

Thanks estar, I'm giving it until Autumn to see if I can get over the affliction.

As for your conundrum, I personally had no issues with blood tests, particularly as it means that they are able to diagnose problems early. If you hate needles and it makes you ill, ask the doctor or midwife if it is really necessary for you to have it. If you are healthy and the pregnancy is proceeding well, you may not need it. After all, what about those women who don't realise they are pregnant until the baby is born - they haven't been prodded or pricked!.

Good luck with the pregnancy btw.
