Kelly1978 · 05/04/2007 15:22

oh they are adorable! I want one!

dingdong, hope your day has improved?

dingdongjustforyoufg · 05/04/2007 17:47

gorgeous babies

ta for the cake, I need it, DT2 improved and has been an angel all day, DT1 on the other hand is possessed by the 'I'm a 3 yr old and I don't care about anything or anyone' devil I have hit the booze early today, what with the nice weather, hols coming up and general need to chill out somehow...

MarsLady · 05/04/2007 18:50

Ooohhhhhhhhhhhh they're so so so gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!

rosmerrin · 05/04/2007 19:09

I agree, what gorgeous, gorgeous babies!

devondoris · 05/04/2007 20:52

Oooooohhh!! How adorable! I love that they're facing each other and all snuggable!

My two have started pinching each others dummies once they've lost their own... Is this the face of things to come? They had a lovely chat this evening on the changing mats though. DT1 very, very serious about the subject, DT2 just grinning at him and letting out little whoops occasionally. Twins are great and I love them!

How is everyone, by the way? Pixi, let me know when you're coming down and I'll arrange my day!

LG&T - mail me! I've left my address on the meetup thread for you. You're only half hour away...

Love, love everyone....

triplets · 05/04/2007 22:05

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, may I have them please, I love new born babies, they are truly beautiful xxx

rosmerrin · 05/04/2007 22:54

It is confirmed, just as the spots are fading on the DTs, DS3 has the pox, bless him - so we are 3 for 3 here. Oh well, at least we are getting it over and done with.

Devondoris - my two started pinching each others bottles when I wasnt looking - this was before they could even crawl - they are still doing it now with the beakers, 3 years on.

1becomes3 · 06/04/2007 11:39

OK time to pick your brains.......Where do I put my DT's so they are out of DD reach.

As much as I would love to able to carry them around my neck all day in a sling, I can't as I'm still recovering from my section.
I can't really put them in baby bouncer as they are still a bit small and if it was on the floor DD would all over them like a rash.

They are on the sofa most of the day but I can't leave them for a second when DD is about as she just doesn't understand that she can't shove her teddies in thier faces or put all her weight on them when she is tyring to cuddle them.

It is leaving me with no time to do simple things like making her lunch, as our house is open plan downstairs and I can't chuck her in another room.

Any ideas on where I can put them?

estaregg · 06/04/2007 13:01

Helloooo girls!

Not been on for a few days cos been so sick that I can't look at a computer screen and certainly can't scroll up and down because it upsets my balance - how pathetic is that? Anyway, had a better day today - one of my friends organised an easter egg hunt for the kids so we've had a lovely time sitting in the garden drinking tea while they ran round like idiots

Wow - congrats 1b3 - on the safe delivery, on the cuteness of your babies and on their fabulous names. Tough one about your dd tho - in the olden days you'd have one of those big oldfashioned prams that sat in a corner with them in it. Maybe a playpen for them? Bit tricky to lean over a lot tho cos of your stitches

Overrun - the thought of potty training sends shudders down my spine. We are just about over it, but it took a full year for ds1 to get bothered (a week before he was 4!!!!) and a few months for the dts, so feel like I've been doing it for years.... However, I was surprised at how good our nursery were. Although they were in pants, at first they were having accidents every day, but the staff seemed to just accept that really, and I think the routine of nursery actually helped the process along. Depends on the individual staff tho... Even ds1 reverted when he started school and had a few accidents in the first couple of months, but I just acted really surprised and they said 'oh, its just a phase, he'll be fine once he settles' and he was. Worked a treat

MarsLady · 06/04/2007 13:14

1b3... I agree with the playpen suggestion. The BabyDan is a good option. Of course if your DD is good at lobbing things............ lol!

It takes time with the wee ones doesn't it? So hard not to yell "stop it mind my baby" as you don't want them to feel pushed out and they're still your wee baby also. Sigh............

Happy Easter all!

I hope to actually finish my essay today and email it to my tutor. Then I have to get straight on to the next one as I need to finish it and send it early!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Girls: Just read some terrible news re:Charleymouse and her DTs. Have c&p

By mumtocharleymouse on Thu 05-Apr-07 21:27:05
To all you MAY 07s I am charleymouse's mum and have some sad news for you all,as you know she has been in hospital ,on tuesday morning waters broke spontaneously and within 1 hour was 3cms dilated twin 2 heart rate was erratic so emergency sectionand twin 1 BENJAMIN PETER was born at 9.57am and weighed 3lbs 10 oz and twin 2 GEORGE EDWARD weighed 3lbs 1/2 oz. both boys breathed on their own and cried but then Ben needed help as well as the problem we knew about he had other problems that had not been seen on scans and so after being with us for 9 hours he is now a little angel.George has needed minimum intervention and after 24 hrs moved from high dependency to low and last night had his first breast feed.Of course Iam biased but he is really beautiful fair hair and looks a bit like his dad.We are all still in shock but charley mouse is a strong person and has a loving husband and a beautiful daughter she is hoping to be back home on tuesday or wednesday and George will move to her local hospital until he is big enough to come home.Charley mouse has asked me to send you this message and will be in touch when she is home.

Will go back and paste the link.

triplets · 06/04/2007 23:12

When something like this happens it becomes personal in a way doesn`t it? We are one strong club and all feel for each other, its strange when most of us have never met. Tonight is not the night for joking, I am sure we will all go to our beds thinking of Charleymouse and her beautiful boys, God Bless Charlie, your love will carry you through, bless your little angel tonight and every night xxxxx

Harrogatemum · 07/04/2007 08:39

Just read this and am so so sad about Charleymouse. I wish I knew what to say but can only send lots of love and hugs to her and her family xxxx

piximon · 07/04/2007 09:27

I read this yesterday but couldn't type for the tears and shock. I agree with triplets, I do feel like you're all a part of my extended family and it does feel personal. I just don't know what to say.

Charleymouse we all send you our love and when you feel ready come back to us. You'll always be a twin mum and we're all here for you.

oooggs · 07/04/2007 18:33

How did you get on breast feeding twins???

Finding tandum really hard, thinking of alternating bottle & breast. Need help, advice & sleep. They are 9 days old.

birth story

piximon · 07/04/2007 22:20

ooogggs well done on making it so far. I'm sure one of the experts will be along soon.
Once I made the switch to mixed feeding (breast and formula) it wasn't long before the formula more or less took over, everyone wanted a go of feeding them and my supply dropped really quickly. Although they are still getting dregs I just don't seem to have the time to build my supply up.
In the early stages you just have to do whatever gets you through but it does get easier. Plenty of rest, lots of fluids etc.
I wish I'd had more support at home so I could have kept going, the early stages felt like forever but are really such a short time.
I seem to have blinked and missed the first three months and now I have two strapping babies on my hands who're on the verge of sleeping through.
Sorry I'm not much help. I'm trying not to influence you one way or the other.

triplets · 07/04/2007 23:00

Where is everyone tonight? I have been on here hoping for company since my darling trio went to sleep at 9.30pm! Are you all ouy partying without me? How sad my life is, oh for the old days when I used to be dancing the night away!

charleymouse · 08/04/2007 00:22

Hi Ladies
Thank you so much for your support. George is suckling and trying to breast feed but he tires easily.
Now I have a swipe card for neonatal unit I can access the staff snack bar/cyber cafe where I have been peering through the door longingly over the last 5 weeks.
Unfortunatley Benjamin had no trachea, this was how the fluid had built up so much as he wasn't swallowing it and passing it through his system.
He managed 9 hours with us whilst he was checked over by various consultants to see if there was anything they could do. In the end he just had too much missing to rebuild.
I asked for a photo of both boys together as I did not want George to have no record of his brother. The MW arranged for both boys to be brought to the side room I was in where we had both of them Baptised by the hospital chaplain and then we held Benjamin until he slipped away. This sounds a little odd in the circumstances but it was lovely. They are both so handsome and have tufty strawberry blonde hair.
I am absolutely devastated and keep swinging between elation for George and absolute despair for Benjamin. I am walking about a bit better today after the section and am managing to get some milk out at last for poor George who was having to manage on a drip, hopefully he will be off the drip tomorrow and will be breastfeeding soon.
Take care and hopefully I will be able to post a picture of my beautiful twins next week.
Love CM
