Kelly1978 · 30/03/2007 17:32

oh no fg, I wont speak to you for a fortnight, what am I gonna do! By the time you get back, I'm going to be winging off to Nice. Have a good easter with the little frumplets.

Has no one tried my raspberry and mascerpone traybake yet? I've been scoffing that again

Harrogatemum · 30/03/2007 19:10

dingdong I am with you - had a glass of Semillon in my hand since bathtime started at 6pm!!!

dingdongjustforyoufg · 30/03/2007 19:34

I knew I could count on you HM

rosmerrin · 30/03/2007 20:18

Post pox DTs both back at school today and holiday club starts on Monday

Okay okay Mars I will try the LDC this weekend. My sister, her DH and their 4 children (the oldest is 5 - no DTs) are arriving at my Dad's tomorrow for 10 days, just down the road from us, so they should be able to help me eat it and save me from scoffing it all myself.

Kelly - the traybake is on my to do list, printed out and in the kitchen - can you just unbuckle the straightjacket and I'll give it a go!

rosmerrin · 30/03/2007 20:19

HM - I can beat that - I had my G&T in my very own bath this evening

dingdongjustforyoufg · 30/03/2007 20:24

a bath rosmerrin on your own how very dare you

rosmerrin · 30/03/2007 22:21

I know, kinky isn't it!

largeginandtonic · 31/03/2007 07:48

Hello everyone, hope you are all well and enjoying a lazy saturday. The first day of the Easter hols for all mine.

I made it to Plymouth without giving birth and dh has been packing everything since. Im still couch relegated with occasional trips rouund the house and bounces on the birthing ball. Im trying to get this baby head down He goes but just swings right back again, i relly think he prefers it the right way up (as dh says)

The dts have gone to stay with their dad They were very happy to go but it's the longest they will be away. I get them back Easter weekend, hopefully. I know they are 8 and will be fine but i kinda feel abandoned, very strange. I was trying not to get upset as they left, they would probably laugh at me anyway.

So only have 3 children......easy peasy, what are you all whinging for Actually it makes no difference at all, i still have to cook, wash and clean, watch them every second as the twins are so independant now they need very little attention apart from room tidy shouting.

Am off to see how breakfast is going, it has been quiet for far too long......

breadandroses · 31/03/2007 08:15

Have just come to the conclusion that you lot are all barking, but am liking the obsession with food on this thread.

On a serious note, my "Twin A" (due July) has been diagnosed with talipes (club foot)
Is this more common in twins? Consultant thinks it will need an operation, but mw says she's seen babies where it just sort of straightens out on it's own.

Harrogatemum · 31/03/2007 08:58

hi breadandroses, welcome to the crazy thread!! Re your question - I have no knowledge or experience of this, but I can guarantee someone will know something!

Do you have any other kids? Tell us a bit about yourself (sits back and nurses 3rd cup of tea of the morning - was up between 1.30 and 4am with the neighbours over the road having their first loud party of the season..........bloody summer has a lot to answer for)

breadandroses · 31/03/2007 09:26

Hi, I have been resisting getting pulled in by this thread as I don't have dts yet. So I feel like a bit of an imposter, but I may drop in from time to time (usually to think oh christ what am I getting into!).
I have two dds who are at mil's, prob eating their own body weight in chocolate. So now I have to go and collect them, as she already thinks I am a dirty stop out . I was out with mates last night, but I can't sleep anywhere but my own bed at the moment as I am too damn uncomfortable!

rosmerrin · 31/03/2007 10:10

Good morning ladies.

Welcome breadandroses - I am relatively new here myself and can confirm that it is very easy to get sucked in - they are not really crazy, just great fun.

Kelly, I saw this and thought of you - Malteaser traybake . Let me know if you, or any one else out there, gets a chance to make it before me. Sounds delicious!

rosmerrin · 31/03/2007 10:14

HG - sorry to hear about the broken nights sleep. I was up at 4am, very unusual for my boys. DT1 was crying and grizzling for about 5 mins before I could get him to tell me what was wrong. Can you guess what the problem was - Bob the flipping builder - he couldnt find him - I almost throttled him.

Kelly1978 · 31/03/2007 10:35

well that is just charming breadandroses
That is what twins do to you - get ready for it!

Sorry to hear that your baba has talipes. One of dd's first friends had this, she did have to have ops, and it really sorted it out. Hopefully this won't be the case for your baby, but it is amazing how well little babies cope with that sort of thing. {{{hugs}}}

that malteser traybake looks great, I'll let you out of the straps if you promise to post me some! I mgiht try that next week. Have lots of playdates arranged and that might keep all the little munchkins happy.

Kelly1978 · 31/03/2007 10:39

does anyone know if it is possible to get a cuddly thomas anywhere? dt2 is obsessed with 'nana' but I don't like him taking them to bed.

I think I would have throttled him too, rosmerrin!

frumpygrumpy · 31/03/2007 12:01

Don't worry Kelly, I'll still be around, skulking in and out. breadandroses, imposter my bum, those DTs are in there, you can't deny it Don't know the answer to your question but I suggest maybe starting a new thread for it - lots of people seem to get frightened when they see this thread and won't see your question. I don't know why they get scared, its not like is catching!

OP posts:
rosmerrin · 31/03/2007 15:09

Kelly what about this ?

dingdongjustforyoufg · 31/03/2007 18:24

rosmerrin my sympathies, my 2 are usually very good at night but for the past week (since a night chez PILs) I haven't had a full night's sleep

Breadandroses my friend's DS had talipes and was in and out of hospital for the first year or so, coped very well with it and is doing really well now, he'll be 4 in July. He had to have casts on for quite some time, from the very beginning, this seems to help correct the problem while the bones are still soft enough to manipulate. Where are you based?

We have been to see some friends for lunch today, so will have to have a glass of wine noe to stave off the early evening hangover I'll get if I don't

rosmerrin · 31/03/2007 19:18

Out to dinner this evening - first time in about 2 months! Does anyone else find it surreal putting the babes to bed in full makeup and nice evening clothes? Makes me feel like I'm in a film

MarsLady · 01/04/2007 01:16

Welcome BreadandRoses.... you don't need to wait for them to be born! That's when you vanish for a couple of months and post the occasional...I'm here post!

Now tell us all about yourself love (before we tell you some true horror stories) [wicked manical laughter!!!!]

largeginandtonic · 01/04/2007 11:15

Welcome breadandroses, obsession witha nice Chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon will also help while posting on this thread

My dd had positional tallipes, we gave her physio at home every day for six weeks after she was born and it cleared up totally. I looked quite bad when she was born but soon righted itself without the need for surgery. DS#4 had it mildly too but didnt need any physio it just cleared up on it's own.

Easter soon......am thinking up an Easter name. Any ideas? Quite like Esatereggsfullofginandtonic Now wouldnt that be nice....

frumpygrumpy · 01/04/2007 18:59

rosmerrin, have you ever read your kids the book All In One Piece, Jil Murphy? I always feel just like that when I'm going out and putting kids to bed

All her kids books are fab.

Hi FG - I haven't come across them but have just had a look on Amazon - they look great, and Mrs Large looks very glamorous on the cover of All in one piece - just like me in fact! I've put it on the wish list!
