A new thread!
Especially for throckenholt

I was hoping the original one would go to 1000, but it was gettign a but annoying scrolling all the way done, so come over here instead.

How is everyone coping with the school holidays?

I'm fed up with the rubbish weather, as we're stuck in the house too much. I daren't take them to soft play as it packed during the hols and then I can't watch all four of them. Plus it costs a fortune.
Mine are changing so much. Rav is becoming a right wuss, scared of new places. I suppose it shows awareness, but it is annoying when I've driven miles for a nice day out and he just wants to sit and whine because he is too scared to go on anything! Shay is developing his houdini skills, and now has a tendancy to bolt out of parks so I have to watch him like a hawk. I must dig out the reins before we go on holiday.

hands largeginandtonic a whole box of unopened thorntons she has been stashing in the kitchen cupboard dated oct 2006 - hope they are ok!

Takes the can from hm and craftily pours in a heathly dose of vodka

dp has nipped out for kebabs, about 20 mins away so I thought I'd sneak on mn for a bit, but it's sooo quiet!

traceykb glad your night wasnt as bad as you were expecting, hope your oh is home now.

I don't feel very strong where ss are concerned atm - I am sick of the lot of them. But as far as the kids are concerned they are all really doing well so I know I am Not a bad Mummy and they are absolutely fine no matter what ss think. I'm jsut sick of their beauracracy and them turning up on my doorstep, I am so tempted to tell them to P* off! I've had visits because of nappy rash and for bruising on ds1. He told them exactly how he had got the bruises and then the sw expressed concern about 'bruises' on his thigh - actually hives. What kind of sw can't tell the difference between a rash and brusies. Aaaargh!! I am trying so hard to keep my patience with them but I really want them to bugger off and leave us alone now, because they provide no help at all, jsut more stress. It is very hard to get them off the register at the first review, which means I probably have 6 more months of this. But hey, I'll get through it. I don't really give a shit as long as my family are ok.

I've been wondering about this social life thing too! I've decided that I do need a bit of one. I've tried to make some plans and suddenly next week I have three or four playdates to go to! I'm really lookign forward to it but nervous at the same time. This whole SS thing is making me want to hide away a bit. I always used to be very sociable though, so fingers crossed!

Sorry kelly Dh phoned

Would love to have a thorntons choc thanks, no vodka for me have already fed my poor baby a childs lemsip sachet better not overdose it just yet....festive season is upon us...

Dont know how you do it with all the ss input, i had a little experience with the when i had the dts 8 years ago, their dad went for custody and we had to go to court. I had to prove i was a suitable mummy for the courts. It meant lots of interviews and other twoddle. Course it all came to nothing, he was given limited access and that was it. Still horrible experience to go through with your first babies when you dont actually know what your doing, but clearly had to pretend i did!!

Am off to bed now with a hot choc as i cant find any real choc to eat (virtual just not enough) Goodnight all and heres hoping FG surprises us with a birth announcement tomorrow. Enjoy your kebab kelly xxx

Kelly1978 · 18/11/2006 22:19

Was obviously very tired last night, we would be very surprised if FG announced she'd had a baby overnight! O fcourse i meant HM...

earlysbird · 19/11/2006 09:07

LOL lg&t, not as surprised as fg would be...

harrogatemum · 19/11/2006 11:39

sorry ladies - all quiet on the birth front. Baby has gone fairly quiet and getting increasingly uncomfortable with Braxton Hicks but nothing major happening. No shows, no waters, no massive pains. Yawn.

frumpygrumpy · 19/11/2006 17:45

hi all, wanna see ma baybee?

harrogatemum · 19/11/2006 17:55

yes - please post a pic on birth announcements and lets give up this pretence that its me thats pregnant - its SOOOOOOO obvious that its not me as otherwise MAYBE I WOULD HAVE HAD A BABY BY NOW!!!!

largeginandtonic · 19/11/2006 19:08

So sorry Fg, did you want a baby? Ive got a few spare

Your nightie sounds lurvely, could i borrow it when i have my next one in may, promise to post a piccie.

Ive been to woolies today and have a mahussive bag of kiddies pic n mix, anyone fancy one? Have done way too much and just want to vegetate on the couch, except there is no room....dc are all watching robin hood! From the 23mth old, the 4 year old the 6 year old and the dts 8, who new it was so watchable by all. So no room on the couch for me, i dont like the free couch its leather and is cold.

May go and make a cuppa anyone else?

harrogatemum · 19/11/2006 19:15

could I have a glass of wine please?

earlysbird · 19/11/2006 19:58

would you like a belgian chocolate to go with that?

MarsLady · 19/11/2006 20:00

Have just watched Robin Hood with my three oldest! The DTs are in bed. If only they were sleeping..... sigh...............

What did you call the baby FG?

Remember HM... your uterus is working hard at the moment. It is stretching and become thin at the bottom so that baby can come out. You don't want baby to come before the uterus has done it's job now do you? Hmmmmmmm..... I hope you are not sitting back into the couch and that you are tilted slightly forward and you are doing your lovely hip winding movements to create space and help baby move into position

harrogatemum · 20/11/2006 10:04

circling hips as we speak Mars!

MarsLady · 20/11/2006 13:07

And are you sitting on your birthing ball?

frumpygrumpy · 20/11/2006 14:00

HM darling, book yourself a lovely manicure and hairdo, then that baby will come. Have you tried wearing some pre-pregnancy clothes to get the mind into a different gear. The laughing might start off something . Seriously sweetheart, I know its not fun if you are uncomfortable. What about the swimming pool - I always felt great swimming.

Mars, my baybee is a perfect angel. I popped him in the bottom drawer (as we Scots are known to do) late last night and haven't heard a peep since. Of course he will be named Hamish as he marched out wearing a kilt .

Had my hair cut and coloured today and feel like a new woman. The pox has gone just the scabs to retreat now. (DD1 said to me last night "mum, I picked off a chicken pock because it was ready but I'm leaving the one behind my ear til tomorrow because its flappy but sore". I thanked her for that, kissed her and tucked her into bed. Reminds me I must nip in there with the hoover .

Hi Kelly, you stay focussed sweetheart and aim high.

MarsLady · 20/11/2006 14:04

You sound all lovely FG!

frumpygrumpy · 20/11/2006 14:08

Touch it Mars, go on touch it, I know you want to, its so soft and shiny, go on, it won't be like this again for a long time, there's not even snot on the ends.

harrogatemum · 20/11/2006 16:05

the birthing ball keeps going down because the twins roll it around constantly. But have spent a bit of today with my bum in the air as have had some niggly pins and needles type pains across the top of bump.

MarsLady · 20/11/2006 16:10

wiggle those hips.

Do what you did to HD to get to this position. You know you want to! Send him to the gym first if necessary! (Or was it you that went to the gym? )

Down on all fours!

frumpygrumpy · 20/11/2006 16:36

Oooh HM has pins and needles on her bump! I feel changes.......

I have extremely bad period pains this afternoon so I think we are time twins, hoping yours results in a shiny bundle and mine goes away with paracetamol .

get down on it, ooh oooh, get down on it

harrogatemum · 20/11/2006 19:20

bloody HD and his father have gone down the pub! Leaving me with two crazed two year olds running around in their dino pyjamas. Its a true sight to behold.

Pins and needles have gone off now, booooooo. FIL was convinced today was the day as well, he goes back to Cyprus on Wednesday so looks like he is going to miss it. I am going on a mini mumsnet meet-up tomorrow with a couple of ladies from northallerton...not quite the raucous Xmas meet up you had in London but a start! Loved the photo Mars - I had to get HD to verify it was you!

MarsLady · 21/11/2006 01:53

HM... HD saw a far more nekkid me! I'm surprised he recognised me with my clothes on! lol

Hope they had a good time at the pub. And I equally hope you leave HD to do everything for you from now on.

Could you tell him that we ate the ldc that had his name on it?

FG.... How you gonna do it if you really don't wanna dance? Don't mean that you don't want to.

harrogatemum · 21/11/2006 12:59

huh - not much chance of getting HD to do anything for me. His Dad cooked a casserole last night (with rabbit........please dont make any comments) and he has been sick as a dog since then. Me and his Dad are fine and his dad has cooked a curry for tonight....maybe that will get things moving! HD will be lying in bed moaning and I will probably go into labour. Hurrah.

At least his Dad is here to do the cooking I guess, I havent been near the oven in a week.

Just got the DTs yearly pics from nursery - they are THE CUTEST ever even though I am biased. I have one gingernut and one blondie and I am hoping that this next baby will be like me (grey I hear you say?), and have dark brown hair so that I have the full colour spectrum!

Right, well am off to my mini meet up so will catch you all later.

frumpygrumpy · 21/11/2006 18:04

HM, did we ever get told whether your are having a pink or a blue this time? I know you know.....

Mars, get your back up off the wall , kindred spirits.....

Kelly1978 · 21/11/2006 18:14

I'm pretty sure hm said it was a girl...or a boy

She was rather secretive, btu I'm thinking pink, but my brain is adddled these days so I might be wrong.

I went on a meet up today. Was fun, but is it always my children play up/act like starving waifs/throw shoes out of the buggy making me traispe back half a mile to retrieve it! We went to a country park place and it was sooo muddy, I'm normally a clean freak so it was rather good for the boys to play in mud. We took bread for the ducks too, I was thinking the boys would like that. Got to the lake and a herd of crazed geese and swans came charging over trying to peck me to death and I had to run for my life! They thought it was very interesting anyhow watching poor mummy get ganged up on.

Hope everyone else is fine, and get that baby out of there hm!
