A new thread!
Especially for throckenholt

I was hoping the original one would go to 1000, but it was gettign a but annoying scrolling all the way done, so come over here instead.

How is everyone coping with the school holidays?

I'm fed up with the rubbish weather, as we're stuck in the house too much. I daren't take them to soft play as it packed during the hols and then I can't watch all four of them. Plus it costs a fortune.
Mine are changing so much. Rav is becoming a right wuss, scared of new places. I suppose it shows awareness, but it is annoying when I've driven miles for a nice day out and he just wants to sit and whine because he is too scared to go on anything! Shay is developing his houdini skills, and now has a tendancy to bolt out of parks so I have to watch him like a hawk. I must dig out the reins before we go on holiday.

Whoops, pressed post too quick

fg, sorry to hear that dt2 is still poorly. Have you tried lots of warm baths with stuff to stop the itching? I hope he is better soon x

Hi kelly, I'm glad to hear you are getting out and about a bit. Still not easy but better to be in the land of the living instead of being shut up indoors sometimes. DT2 is over the itch, he's just not improving much otherwise. Largegin posted me some helpful info on my other thread so I'm watching him like a hawk. Haven't had much sleep at all in 3 weeks so it must change soon as I feel like a witch.

Still, you girls don't mind me looking like this.....do you?

harrogatemum · 23/11/2006 20:04

Frumpy - I think you look bee-yoo-tiful.

You should see me - bum in the air as usual!

Kelly1978 · 23/11/2006 20:06

very sexy the pair of you. I feel like a tramp wearing pj bottoms and a grand canyon tshirt with curry stains down the front.

frumpygrumpy · 23/11/2006 20:06

Oh HM its soo early for that sort of chat!

harrogatemum · 23/11/2006 20:12

Kelly - should have some curry stains of my own very shortly - DH gone out to collect!

FG - there is space on my ball for you if you fancy a bounce???!!!

largeginandtonic · 23/11/2006 20:16

You girls crack me up...

Ive just eaten such an unhealthy dinner, chips, onion rings and some yummy belly pork (crisped to within an inch of its 2nd life) With no veges, not good for growing a baby i know. Made ne feel better though.

Forgot to say FG ds was 2 when he had the dreaded pox too. It is awful to see them so poorly, i think i cried as much as he did those 2 weeks. Im a bit paranoid about the pox now, ds#4 is nearly 2 and i have avoided it at every opportunity. Im sure it would be ok but not ready to risk it yet, silly really as loads of kids get it and are fine, like the rest of our children.

Kelly have you just eaten a curry? Im craving one but as its only me here with the dc (who wont eat it) i cant be bothered to make one. I fyou could just send me over some leftovers and a poppadom that would be fab....

HM email me your address and i will hunt out the caullophyllum, im desperate for you to have this baby, not as despearte as you im sure! [email protected]

largeginandtonic · 23/11/2006 20:19

Oooooh a take out curry, a nice hot one for you HM i hope. It will bring a whole new meaning to the saying 'ring of fire' either way you will get one..... Sorry....

Kelly1978 · 23/11/2006 20:22

sorry to dissapoint but the curry stains are from yesterday - feel even mroe of a tramp now!
Nice chicken masala with garlic and cheese naan. Yum! I do have a masala omlette and bombay potatoes - proper real indian brand ready meal I can split with you if you like.

Hope you enjoy yours hm, have you ordered a nice vindaloo to get that baby out?

LargeG&T, your dinner last night sounds great, I could eat some of that for breakfast ! Why is it that pregnancy makes you feel like eating such a load of crap!

Mars - question?

Frumpy, your DTs' birth sounds great! I am determined that mine won't be complicated, but everyone else seems to want to make it complicated!

Been thinking a lot since yesterday, I asked the consultant about when the right time would be to discuss the birth and do a birth plan, its quite clear that doing a birth plan isn't really the norm, I am definitely going to write down a lot of my wishes to discuss (both for vb and cs), I don't want to go into this birth as clueless as I did with ds. So how early should I really discuss this with the consultant in detail?

harrogatemum · 24/11/2006 09:30

well I ate three mouthfuls before I felt absolutely awful and got cramps.

Had the same pains as i had a month ago when I went into hospital convinced that I was in labour only to be told I was contracting but cervix was closed so didnt want to risk going into hospital to be told the same thing.

Spent the whole night in agony only to finally get to sleep at 4am and pains gone this morning. Has anyone else ever had this with any of their pregnancies? DH kept asking me to tell him when there was pain so he could time it,. but it was just constant constant pain with no comfortable position that I could get into (all fours was best). I wonder if it is something to do with my stomach as (sorry if too much info) am quite constipated at present. My Mum thinks its hormonal as it happened one month ago and one month prior to that.......

Help - anyone got any ideas??? I might start up another thread about it but will ask you all first, oh fonts of knowledge. Due date today.......

leogaela · 24/11/2006 12:00

no ideas sorry HM, only thing I can say is that my friend (due on monday) has been having on and off crippling pains and she thinks that its is when the baby pushes on a nerve somewhere.
I hope its early labour pains and you don't have to wait much longer.

frumpygrumpy · 24/11/2006 13:47

Mmmmn HM, I've not really got any ideas, however, constipation can be related to your hormones (I get constipated for a bit before my period is due). Drink heaps of water today, try a wedge of lemon in hot water, maybe some peppermint tea for digestion. Your curry should have helped the constipation too . Imagine you having your baby on the due date, wow! I hope you are feeling more comfortable now and rest up will you! Bum on the couch, feet on the ball. Thanks for the offer of a bounce, haven't had that said to me for a bit . Take care sweetheart and if we don't see you on here tonight.....we'll know.

frumpygrumpy · 24/11/2006 13:49

Its not food related is it? What were you eating the other times? I used to get terrible cramping when I ate broccoli (it would double me up, not wind I can assure you, just pain). I love it but cannot eat it now.

frumpygrumpy · 24/11/2006 13:53

Largegin, thanks, he is a little better atm, still watching. I managed to massage off a lot of crusty bits last nite in the bath with oil and I'm hoping thats eased the discomfort. I know what you mean about avoiding it. I know people say its easier when they are younger but I found it much easier when DD could tell me exactly what I could do to help.

I just made carrot soup and now I look like I smoke 200 a day.

tracykb · 24/11/2006 14:09

Thank you all soooo much for your lovely messages re my FIL. Sounds like they're going to keep him in for a week or so, feeding him through a drip till he builds up his strength and then they'll start talking about how to treat him. OH has gone up to see him again today, so I'm on my own till Sunday, which I don't mind, but am finding quite tough at the mo'.

Anyway, I forgot lots of people last time, so I thought I'd try and catch up...

Leo - good to hear the babies are good sizes; with mine I could never tell which was which kicking me - I think one was sort of lodged behind the other though so it was harder to work out.

charleymouse - there's a message board on the TAMBA website and lots of people have posted their birth stories at various times if you fancy a look...I think hospitals insisting on epidurals is quite common.

mars - if you'd like me to ask the question about epidurals for twin births on TAMBA on your behalf for your research, would be happy to help.

HM - hope you're on your way by now...but if not - how about that cod liver oil? My friend took it thursday evening and gave birth friday midday.

Kelly - hope you are having a better day today and you have finished repeating yourself to all and sundry!

FG - how's DT2? Hope he is feeling better and you can get some sleep over the weekend. Is DH home to help?

LG&T - glad the scan went well.

Everyone else I've forgotten...hello hope you are well.

time for a kip now, DTs were up at 5 (and 12.30 and 2.30am (DD1 on best behaviour to get lots of stickers with a new doll as reward at the end of the day so will hopefully oblige )

sorry - that was long

MarsLady · 24/11/2006 14:18

ooh lovely Tracykb cos I can never remember my password (and I find more answers here than there normally).

The question is about twin mums having epidurals as standard.

harrogatemum · 24/11/2006 16:19

still here all - rang hospital - they said have a bath, take two paracetamol and rest! Oh well. Maybe it is food related as it seems to be just after I start eating that the pains come........but I'm hungry!

I should probably drink more water - I have had a fondness for fizzy drinks this pregnancy and that will probably end up being what has made me feel so ill!

Thanks for all your kind words everyone.......I really appreciate it.

earlysbird · 24/11/2006 18:09

HM you poor thing its sounds awful I hope you manage to eat something and get a bit of rest, I hate the fact that when you need the rest most, you can't get it and you know you won't for a fair few weeks yet, not fair!

Tracykb, sorry to hear about FIL, hope he gets the treatment he needs.

I've had a nightmare wek with the DTs really, they've totally collapsed under the weight of what I can only describe as a heavy cold! They've been grumpy, sleepy, not eating, not interested in doing anything - v boring really I shouldn't complain really should I?!

Anyway frumpy, sounds like you're suffering more than me, perhaps your son is just being a typical man? A friend of mine's DS, same age as my DTs, has had same chestsy cold as them and she said he was awful, milking it for all he was worth...I know my DH would!

Anyway, get that baby moving now HM and have a nice w/e everyone

frumpygrumpy · 24/11/2006 18:12

Take care HM, hope you have a comfortable night. I remember being in a very short labour with DD, at home and wondering how in hells name I was going to make it to hospital and they said "oooh, first baby, you've got hours and hours yet, take two paracetamol, have a bath, rest up"......managed to get to hospital where she was born 20 minutes after we screeched in. Think they'd give that answer if one said one had shredded ones leg on a combine harvester?

Hi Tracykb, all well at my end, have DP for a day or two which is good as gin always tastes better when someone else has poured it.

frumpygrumpy · 24/11/2006 18:14

hi earlysbird! You poor thing, 2 grouches = not easy. Is your bar open? I can't wait for the reply as I have 2 in the bath, 1 in the shower, a beeping tumble drier and a wee to clean up . Happy weekend to you to.

Kelly1978 · 24/11/2006 18:27

have a good weekend everyone, hope things get going soon for you hm, and hope dt2 recovers over the weekend fg, and hope they make your FIL comfortable traceykb.

Now I'm off to do some more of a dolls house for dd then relax with a few beers and some fajitas.

Oh, and everyone has heard my tirade now, jsut the chair to email ! Thank god for a really good hv though, who visited today. it's great to have at least someone there who is on out side.

OP posts:
MarsLady · 24/11/2006 19:28

HM.... occupy yourself with normal jobs and things. Go to bed and sleep when you can. Don't forget before you can move into established labour your uterus has to stretch. That's what's happening. The very beginnings of your labour.

Whilst you can "ignore" your pains you should. Sleep is the key. No need for your bum to be in the air now. You only need to do that when you are in labour and you need a wee break (not a wee lol). Don't forget to use your all fours position and rocking. Will check in on you. Kisses babe!

earlysbird · 24/11/2006 20:04

the bar is well & truly open care to join me?
