Shabs - are you any better today?
Hi everyone else, just been asked to work extra next week, have agreed, but it will mean a 45hr week with the boys birthday at the end, so starting to have a few 2nd thoughts! Mind you, it will pay for their birthday :-)

Tom is off Monday and Wednesday. Monday for the Queens 'whatever amount of years it is' celebration of being the Queen Grin and Wednesday for the strike. Dan is struggling with his feelings about the Wednesday strike. He works for local government and some of his colleagues are out on strike. He said to me last night that he simply cant afford to take a day off....think he was looking for my approval. His boss has also said that all of their jobs are only safe till next April and he is not striking because he is afraid that he will be laid off. I told my lad, you have to do what you have to do. He has a family who depend on him. The loss of a days wages will hit him hard in his December pay. I hope that when he goes into work there isin't a picket line because he will struggle to go through it. By the Christ we are living in troubled times in this country.

shabbapinkfrog · 25/11/2011 09:38

.......forgot to add that I am the daughter of a bolshy shop steward - the mighty Harryster. I agree with the strike and wish I could pay Dans wages for that day so he can join in with the revolution!! Dan said 'I'm not telling Grandad that Im going in work on Wednesday ROFL!!'

My older two are off, both their schools striking, but the Infants are open and the dts are not impressed Grin will have to make the most of some time with the older two.
