Dont know love - I was exhausted last night as well Hmm

bubby64 · 02/02/2012 12:13

Hi Shabs, feeling any better?
Hops- have a great time at the "bowl" you will be amazed at the size of the stadium, it's massive!
Trips - boys not taking it v well, M is still blaming me, and in a perm foul mood, J playing up quite a bit 'cause he thinks he can get away with it.
Have our 1st session tonight with counciller while boys are at scouts - we'll se how it goes. Must admit, I hadn't realised how hard work it would be being on my own, made me think about the help I do get from DH, its just the little things like him feeding the animals whilst I sort out kids in the morning, and him collecting them from childminder, because its on his way home, rather than me detour to get them, that sort of thing. I do most of the big, obvious childcare type work, but he chips in in the background with those little time consuming jobs that still need doing.

Hopstheduck · 02/02/2012 12:21

Hope you sleep better 2n Shabs, have a hot toddy before bed!

Mm, it must be hard bubby. I sometimes think it would be more peaceful without dh shouting, but when he was away one night, I was exhausted! Keep telling yourself though, you are doing the right thing and this will pass. Good luck for the counselling tonight, hope it goes really well.

I have decided I am STAYING in this airport lounge. NOTHING is going to drag me out of here. I have my iPad, comfy sofa and all the food and drink on tap I could wish for! I've just spied single barrel jack Daniels- been wanting to try that for ages! Grin it unbelievable tho really, all this stuff and it economy you Are lucky if you get a stale croissant chucked at you! How the other half live, hey!

triplets · 02/02/2012 14:26

Afternoon all................ventured out to Tesco today, incognito as I didnt want anyone to see my cold sore. Whisked down the first aisle and someone said, "Hello Mrs Peace are you feeling better"? It was the reception class teacher.................only half way round when dh finds me, hes got two newspapers and some mouth wash. Ive finished" he said, Ill go through and wait in the car". I had loads to get, so he went off for a coffee instead. Finally dragged my wonky wheeled trolley to the c/outs and they were chocker. My turn, start to unload and I get one of my dry coughing fits I get with a cold, I just stood there, cough, cough, eyes streaming, no hanky, couldnt speak. The assistant said she would start packing, the lady behind me unloaded the rest of my shopping. Minutes later I am still coughing, wet face, cant speak. Assistant rings bell and asks for a glass of water, lady behind me rushes up and says "poor thing" and gives me a blackcurant locket. Eventually I pay up and push the trolley out into Arctic conditions to the car where dh is sat with a face like thunder asking me where I have been.
I cannot write my reply on here!!!

Poor you Trips, did he give you the "catbum" face , as my DC call it?
Well, theres some advantages to being DHless at the moment, no catbum faces when I do something he dissaproves of, like sitting here with heater on, cup of tea and a glass of wine plus box of aftereights I am demolising by myself!Grin Kids going to a friends house for tea before their mum runs them all to scouts, so won't get found out!

triplets · 02/02/2012 15:40

Good for you...............treat yourself! Mind you I am sat up in bed, kids have just come home and one in particular has just snapped at me so I think I`ll stay here! They came home on Tues with a letter re a day trip to the trenches in France. Two of them want to go, and I know its just for a jolly as they are not remotely interested in WW1. There are two reasons why I am saying no
1.That day is my b/day(big one!)

  1. Its £52 each child plus food!!

Their Dad was an engineer with P&O so we can go over anytime for free!
Also they are leaving at 6.30am and ret at 11.30pm!!
I was hoping I would be able to go away for 2 nights as its a big b/day but I can`t afford it, all my g/friends have done it for theirs:(
Am I being mean?

OP posts:
shabbapinkfrog · 02/02/2012 23:16

Not mean at all Trips.......bloody school trips - thought ours were expensive but that is so much money. The best one Toms school did was a weeks ski-ing trip. They were travelling by coach and ferry and the journey was 36 hours each way. NOT including spending money, ski hire etc etc it was almost £1,000 Shock it would not cost us that for the 3 of us to go to Greece!!!!!!!

I'd say no, trips.

Bubby you werent kidding - it is HUGE! Drove past it last night. Now off out SHOPPING!!

triplets · 04/02/2012 00:53

Morning all................yep 12.44am, wide eyed and legless with a throbbing cold sore which is getting worse...................aghhhhhhhh. Spent £8 today on the tiniest tube of cream and it looks worse...........if I go to the 70`s disco tomorrow I will have to make a feature of it:o

Question: young teens............what time is reasonable to stay up on a Frid and Sat night? Dh was bawling at them to go to bed at 10pm, the boys had only just got in from ATC, they were cold and hungry and excited. I think its reasonable to let them stay up until 10.30pm, lights off by 11.30pm. Dh says he won`t have it..........as he is tired and wants some peace. I feel more and more like pig in the middle as I can see it from both sides. Aghhhhhhhhh my lip ....................throb throb throb...... must sleep................must sleep........must sleep...................zzzzz zzzzz zzzzzzzzzz .........BOO :o

Morning girls xx

Trips its a good job your H doesn't live here Grin During the week Tom has a 10 pm bedtime....tried making him go earlier but gave up!! Friday and Saturday night are a different matter. I have no idea what time he finally goes to sleep.........he talks to the hotel owners kids in Faliraki on the laptop till the early hours of the morning!!!! Mind you he would win the prize for the child who needs the least hours sleep and there is only ONE of him. Having read that back to myself I am a decent Mum....honestly!!! Hmm

bubby64 · 04/02/2012 22:37

Hi all, Trips, R is like your other half, wants my 2 out of the way and in bed by 8.30, 9pm at weekends, as he says he wants time to relax and have "adult" time. I reckon that he will be saying 9.30 school nights and 10 weekends when they are about 13. Hope you are having a great time at the 70's night!
Shabs - I have already been told that next yr in yr 7 they have a 3 day cruise school trip for £700+ each! My 2 will not be going!
Well, things went well Thursday, R agreed he had trouble accepting they were pre teens and that he was trying to tray them like little boys, also that he found it hard to back away, and he needed some help. I agreed that I spoil them and don't always back him up when he wants to punish them for bad behaviour. He has come home for a trial period this weekend, and we will go from there. He came home last night, and so far, everything is ok.
Thanks for your support everyone, you have all been great. Thanks

Took Rebecca and her friend with me, dh decided not to go, "not his scene"................anyway more fun with the girlfriends. Becca looked mortified when I started gyrating with anyone who would have me............heard her telling her friend on the phone today, "it was gross, mum was soooooooo embarassing and the hall was full of dancing grannies"!! Bloody cheek!
