Trips - I know which I'd prefer, would be with you entirely on the cheese and fizz front, but i think you are going to have to accept that isn't going to happen! Out of the other 2 choices, which will give the least stress, going to DB and having to do the chores there, but also having relatives attempting keeping kids amused and diluting teenage angst, (and maybe fulfilling Beccas wish for a bit of a party) or staying at home, having a relativly quite day, but with having to do all the preperation, cooking and (I presume) clearing away yourself, but only for the 5 of you. Would DD go out to a party, or would she expect one at home?

We put up the tree last night as well, but I really still feel under the weather (bloody cold seeming to go on and on..) and was not up to doing rest of decorations, so now left with a big box of the rest of the stuff in a corner of the living room until I feel more like doing things, trouble is, I have to keep on at the boys to tidy up and take their stuff upstairs, as I had cleaned the room ready on Friday, but, by the time I got around to decorating yesterday, it looked like a bomb had gone off again...

we've finally sorted out our xmas dinner. We're going to have the goose on Xmas eve, and then do veggie for xmas day so can spend the day with family. I've roped them in to help with the cooking though

My parents have pretty much cancelled xmas. My bro went off on one, attacked my dad, smashed two boxes of decorations that my parents have collected over 30 years. He has mental health issues, and is a bit of a overgrown spoilt teenager even tho he is 30 now. Times like this it is hard living neraly 200 miles away from them. I wish I could support my mum thru it all a bit more.

Today the kids had to pull a sickie at school, they won a fun morning meetingn santa, and ice skating with real penguins! It turned out to be a bit of a glorified publicity photo shoot but they had fun, and we went for a wander round the history musuem afterwards to see the dinos. Piccies on facebook.

Dilemma - my DB2 has asked if they can come round Boxing Day, I don't really mind, but will be working (from home) so may spend some of the time shut away with phone and computer. DH, however, feels very awkward after the problems we had with DB1 over my mums finances a few months ago, even though DB2 in the main supported me, DH still feels we were "judged and found wanting". He hasnt spoken or seen DB2 since. Do i say "yes, come round" and risk uncomfortable atmosphere or do i say, "sorry, I'm working"
Personally, I don't think DB2 will mention it at all, but it may be the monster in the corner of the room, so to speak.

Oh WOW - how wonderful. Is that the original Disneyland in California or Florida? Me and DH went to Disneyland many years ago before we had any children - it was magical and wonderful xx

Hey all, how's it going? Am not online as much these days as I am now gainfully employed. :D

Oooggs - wonderful - have a great time, we "did" Disney for our honeymoon, and have wanted to go back there with the kids ever since.
Well, have said to DB "yes, you are welcome, but please be aware I am working, so if work phone rings -which he knows is likely-I'll have to go and sort out the problem", and he has said he will make it another day, or us go to him, (which tbh would be easier all round anyway), so decision has been made for us.
