Great news. Have just listened to msg from my solicitor, he forwarded the paperwork from my previous mortgage company to my insurance company by registered post in 1998, and he has their acknowledgement letter, so they lost the details, and they now have to either pay for this to be done again, or accept that the money is mine. I bet their legal dept will waive the need for that bit of paper!!Wink

shabbapinkfrog · 01/12/2011 07:05

Morning girls xx

Great news Bibby xxx

shabbapinkfrog · 01/12/2011 07:05

.............or even Bubby

Hopstheduck · 01/12/2011 07:34

Fab new bubby! Grin

How did they get on Shabs?

The kids certainly enjoyed their day off. Dd went swimming and then bk and ds had a mate round.

I'm a bad mummy, I forgot the advent calendars! Now trying to convince the des that the shops will have sold out Grin we have nowhere to put 4 advent calendars - I think last year they went in the hearth and got covered in soot!

shabbapinkfrog · 01/12/2011 07:51

Dan got in work for about 7am....he said there were hundreds stood outside his building. One bloke came to him and asked him to join the strike. Dan said to him 'I cant afford to mate, I understand what you are trying to do and I'm really proud of all of you....but I have a little lad and I cant afford to strike.' They asked him would he consider donating his days pay and he said that he wished he could but he couldn't afford to. Said he was a bit scared but tried to pretend he wasn't. The shop steward shook his hand and thanked him for being honest.

Em ended up working about 3 hours longer than normal. She was exhausted when she came home.

They both fear for the loss of their jobs. Its like bloody Victorian days.

Hopstheduck · 01/12/2011 07:55

aww poor them. they must be relieved it is over, hope things go ok for them today with everyone back in. Least the shop steward sounded a decent enough bloke.

shabbapinkfrog · 01/12/2011 08:02

Being the daughter of a shop steward and strong union man and the DIL of a hard working coal miner I hated the fact they felt under so much pressure to go in. Wish I had the money to give them to replace their wages so they could have gone and joined in the march. Needs must...Im afraid. Im getting grumpier, and more unhappy with the country I was born in, with each passing year!!

Hopstheduck · 01/12/2011 08:03

Mm, tell me about it. I would emigrate in a shot if I had the chance! It is all so so wrong.

shabbapinkfrog · 01/12/2011 08:29

LOL I would emigrate to Rhodes, Greece.....where they are in a worse state than most....BUT I have been talking (online) to my friends out there. They are all helping each other in their village. All the families are going from business to business....helping each other paint hotels and refurbish, helping with olive picking and farming, helping to sort out shops ready for next holiday season. Their compassion for each other is second to none. My friends at the hotel say they are not 'going under' and they know how to survive. I would like to be part of their 'union.' They go by the rule of 'what we have got we all share....share through good times and bad.'

largeginandtonic · 01/12/2011 08:38

He's late you know. Just sayin.

Hope you are all ok, not drowning in lurgy at this germy time of year.

At least it's December. Kids excited and Advent has started.

< clutches at straws >

Just going to do the school run where approx 325 people will say 'OOoooh you not had that baby yet then?' Then to walk the woofa and maybe shift this boy.

shabbapinkfrog · 01/12/2011 08:56

LOL G & T - he is going to arrive on the 9th December....to share his birthday with myself and the mighty Donny Osmond!! Grin

shabbapinkfrog · 01/12/2011 08:58

When is your due date? Bearing in mind, our Tom was 20 days late Shock and they spent those 20 days arguing with me as to 'if I knew my due date' DOH well yes I do actually.....'IT' doesn't happen often in our house, my periods are always on time, I am almost 41 and I KNOW WHEN THIS BABY IS DUE!!!

triplets · 01/12/2011 09:19

shabbapinkfrog · 01/12/2011 09:34

I missed you Trips but have spent the last week feeling very sorry for myself [selfish cow emoticon] I felt better for a day and now I have started again. Tom is really not well at all. I think we should blame all this on our Lew - he started it and now he is fighting fit again Grin

largeginandtonic · 01/12/2011 10:36

Ah the blardy lurgy has claimed a few then Sad Tis the season. Can't believe none of your lot has bought you tea and cake to aid recovery Trips. V bad form. Withold Christmas form them till they buck up.

largeginandtonic · 01/12/2011 17:16

That was probably another baby Chops Grin

Crap blood then Rubes? Anaemic? Take Spa tone, is good. They do an apple flavour too. V important to take it with a glass of OJ. NOT with cereal or milk. It can inhibit it's absorption by 40%!
