What have you brought today?

I love people watching when sat in coffee shops when out shopping and would love to stop people and ask what they've brought today and what's in their carrier bags. Unfortunately, people probably wouldn't take kindly to it.

So I am going to ask MN what have you brought today?

I haven't brought anything today - rare for me to be honest to manage a complete no spend day.

Yesterday I spent:

  • £8 on a coffee and cake with my friend and daughter.
  • £6 on a chippy tea.

Nothing. Regularly have no spend days, sign of the times!

aintnospringchicken · 01/09/2024 16:18

Nothing.

mushpush · 01/09/2024 16:20

A couple of coffees out and about for a long walk this morning, breakfast for two in a cute little cafe, bits and bobs from the shop for tea (some delicious looking cheese as well that caught my eye!), some lovely sweets from a local sweet shop, a bunch of plants for the garden and some random bits and bobs from the garden centre, some clothes for an upcoming holiday and placed my online food shop order for the week.

Quite a lot it seems when writing it down 😂

BobbyBiscuits · 01/09/2024 16:21

Sorry to be pedantic but it's 'bought' not brought.
Bought as in to buy. Brought as in the bring.

I haven't purchased anything yet today. Probably will need to get some booze and dinner in a bit as the cupboard is bare. I had three coffee shop coffees in the last week which is pretty ridiculous but I do enjoy them 😊

Bromptotoo · 01/09/2024 16:22

Some screws to repair the bed in my caravan and the deposit on a site to take it to for next weekend.

invisiblecat · 01/09/2024 16:23

I bought a pair of hallmarked sterling silver sugar tongs at a car boot sale for £2.

Coffee and toastie this morning when I met a friend.

A pair of sports leggings for DD for school.

Stationery for DD for school.

Dried fruit, seeds and butter from the supermarket for making flapjacks.

Nothing hugely exciting, but it's been a v expensive month already with a holiday in the 2nd week and starting a new school this week! I am looking forward to Sept payday

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 01/09/2024 16:25

2 x biscoff ice cream cones. One for DD and one for DN.

I managed to resist. They looked delish though.

MiddleParking · 01/09/2024 16:26

@BobbyBiscuits classic example of Muphry’s law there!

ObliviousCoalmine · 01/09/2024 16:27

I've not brought anything anywhere today but I did have a cooked breakfast in the pub this morning, and that was £9.

Yesterday I was conned into £26 in a cafe and bought a birthday present which was £38.

Inextremis · 01/09/2024 16:29

2.5kg of mealworms (for the robins).

Marmite27 · 01/09/2024 16:30

£15/ish on stuff from home bargains, elvive curly hair styling stuff for eldest dc, cross word book for me, chocolate biscoff biscuits, some packet soup mix a bag of Halloween themed haribo to take on our journey to Ireland at half term and a couple of pouches of skittles for long walks (7k plus).

£10 in Iceland on some chicken skewers and Swedish meatballs.

MissRachelismycoparent · 01/09/2024 16:30

BotterMon · 01/09/2024 16:31

Today I have BOUGHT a baguette for lunch and a packet of 4 chocolate chip cookies from M&S along with an expensive bottle of Vodka which is a birthday present.

Nothing yesterday.

SkeletonBatsflyatnight · 01/09/2024 16:31

A cookie jar in the shape of a ghost from tk maxx. We will use it all year around and we don't currently have a cookie jar.
New trainers for dc1 (the reason I was in tk maxx in the first place).
2 little halloween colouring in decorations for the kids to do when they're bored between now and Halloween.

InandOutlander · 01/09/2024 16:32

A prescription, a book, some bacon, and a train ticket to the airport.

Quite a nice set of things really!

SatansBobbleheadedDashboardOrnament · 01/09/2024 16:32

Nothing. However, usually on the first of the month £175 would go out of my bank account for a workshop I rent, £70 for gym membership and £34 for car tax. No doubt that'll be zapped tomorrow.
Yesterday I spent £16 on wine. That's it for the weekend.

BibbityBobbityToo · 01/09/2024 16:34

A new stainless steel stock pot in the Argos sale. I thought it was a decent bargain at £13.

Ordered online and collected by DD so all organised from the comfort of my sofa.

Fridaysgirl17 · 01/09/2024 16:34

Nothing today, yesterday a box of cards on Amazon for kids as it's back to school & parties starting up again & it was only €5. I generally don't spend most days, weekends yes but rarely during the week

Bobbybobbins · 01/09/2024 16:35

2x pasties
2x apples
2x ice creams while out at a NT place

Milk, onions, stamps at the supermarket.
