child benefit not paid

hi i normally receive my payments every monday for one child (4yo) i’ve received no letters or anything and had payment as normal last week. Although my payments are on mondays, i receive them saturday due to my bank, but this week it hasn’t come through and it’s not my bank as carers has come through like every other week as normal. No change of address etc and her dad wouldn’t of put a claim in and don’t think i can contact them till monday so stressed at what’s going on

Good seems like everything ok. HMRC have promised mondays payments will b in Wednesday so hopefully will b ok

That will depend how HMRC make the payment. It shows early with Monzo when a Bacs payment is made, they take three days. If HMRC make a faster payment it'll only show on Wednesday itself.

Hi all, as of 30 seconds ago my CB is now showing as an upcoming payment on my banking app( HSBC) and is set to drop on the 5 th which as we know is Wednesday, although it's not great that it's not today, it is progress. Fingers crossed everyone will be in the same boat shortly x

so just checked. I bank with monzo and mine is showing now that it’s meant to go in on Wednesday I will be able to collect it today at 4pm thanks to the early payout monzo does. Hopefully now everyone else will be showing up in there’s as well.

So I wonder what will happen now… will it go back to a Monday every 4 weeks as usual or will we now be paid on a Wednesday

HMRC replied to someone on twitter saying it won't change any future payments

Thank goodness- if Wednesday happens… Ihave never had any problems with child benefit before - but I have to say it has left me in a huge mess as im sure it will have others . Im a single mam of 3 children , and its caused me 2 bills to bounce - and ive had to borrow money for food ….fingers crossed for tomorrow .

I'm with Monzo and I can see the payment scheduled to come in tomorrow and can request it early at 4pm today so looks as though they have fixed it

Another morning and still no payment. I see some people who bank with Monzo now have the payment showing. This looks promising...

I bank with Santander so it's just a waiting game.

I have decided that once this payment arrives, I will be changing what bank account my CB is sent to. I also have a Monzo and Starling account so I can see scheduled payments. I think I would prefer that rather to just not knowing incase this ever happens again.

It was those with Monzo and Starling accounts that alerted CHILD BENEFIT to the issue way before people like myself even realised.

Try to have the best day possible. Hopefully just another 24hrs. It will be difficult but please be kind to yourself. You have not failed your children and you are not a failure ❤️

If it was due yesterday you won't get it now until tomorrow. Been a nation wide problem so HMRC say

I'm with Monzo and there's a notification on my account this morning saying it'll be paid tomorrow but I can add it to my account from 4pm today. It will be paid and child benefit have said it will be paid by tomorrow ☺️

I’ve checked my bank this morning and it’s is showing up and due to clear into my account tomorrow (Wed).

It won’t be it’ll be paid tomorrow morning it was announced on the news yesterday

There’s a massive HMRC issue affecting 500,000 people if you incur overdraft charges you can claim them back via complaints procedure
