child benefit not paid

hi i normally receive my payments every monday for one child (4yo) i’ve received no letters or anything and had payment as normal last week. Although my payments are on mondays, i receive them saturday due to my bank, but this week it hasn’t come through and it’s not my bank as carers has come through like every other week as normal. No change of address etc and her dad wouldn’t of put a claim in and don’t think i can contact them till monday so stressed at what’s going on

Ridiculous I've gone overdrawn this morning due to not having the money I was meant to get. Stress and tears this morning

Got same response from Barclays had to scrat up money we luckily had some to cover direct debits it was the cash I had for my daughters after school activities so hope fully it will go in tomorrow or one very disappointed child who won’t understand it’s not our fault 😡

I normally get mine on Monday and haven’t had mine today. I check government gateway and the payment has been sent but bank is saying they don’t have it. Just wondering if you’re still having an issue or if it’s just me

This is a nightmare I really thought it would of be in by now. There’s been no update either they don’t give a sh*t. I’m so desperate for that money need nappies food and need some electric what is going on with them

They’ve given the best updates you’re probably going to get. That they’re working on it but some payments may not complete until Wednesday.

I think you have to take steps which assume you won’t get it. So, food banks, Facebook support groups, friends or family.

I'm 4 weekly and still not received it. I rang natwest and they said all OK their end. On gov website it says its been paid today buy still not in my bank. Luckily my sister has borrowed me some money to cover my direct debits that have come out and left me overdrawn today but I still need the money for the kids trips, clubs etc. My son has gone to Isle of Wight with school today ans I've given him all the money I had left so he could take some spending money

BACS payments cut off is usually 3pm therefore I can't imagine anyone receiving payments today.

Just seen an update on a benefits site saying tuesdays payments should be paid as normal.

It's very rare ( thank goodness) that this type of thing happens though. I expect they are trying to fix it asap.

Yeah well that’s not good enough, I shouldn’t have to be potentially resorting to food banks etc. they should of sorted this out by now, I even phoned them Thursday and Friday saying there’s definitely an issue with the payment it always shows as pending and for me to collect Friday and they just blamed it on the bank even though I spoke to the bank.

I understand how you feel. I’ve been in your boat. It sucks, you feel a sense of dread when you can’t provide and it isn’t your fault and you’re going to be stressed until it’s sorted. But the fact is, it is not sorted and won’t be today. Might not be tomorrow. So you do need to make a plan. There isn’t any magic wand to wave; you need to work with the hand you’ve been dealt.

Are we any closer to finding out if this is a cyber attack or a genuine error 🤷🏻‍♀️ it all seems like a shock to HMRC as it is to us 🫣

Well I don’t know what to family and friends can’t help out I dont have Facebook. They really need to sort this out and give some kid of update of when we actually going to get this payment. They can obviously see the news and all the moms and dads that desperately need the money. Just the government again not caring about the people and family’s that are struggling and rely on that money every month

Completely agree it's just not acceptable. HMRC saying we will get our payments but When?? That's what we all need to know we don't all have support systems some of us are truly on our own. It's awful. The duty social worker that has spoken to me has tols me they have been inundated with phone calls today with desperate families so it's not an isolated thing. I'm still no further forward than I was at 8am this morning.!!

I wouldn't take much stock in that. The official HMRC app shows my payment going through as normal today but still nothing.

I've just put in my complaint online that I didn't get it. I'm not going to ring them and clog up a phone line if there's nothing they can do.

It wasn't due until today so until today it wasn't an issue

Exactly what don’t you get about that, if there wasn’t an issue with the payment it would of shown up in my account and for me to collect early Friday as it always does every month so there was obviously an issue before today just today they have had to deal with it because today is the official date it was due

If their payment file has gone they can't just resubmit it. It's not that easy.

If you go back to the first post on this thread you'll see that issues first started to be reported early on the morning of 1st June . . . .
