hi i normally receive my payments every monday for one child (4yo) i’ve received no letters or anything and had payment as normal last week. Although my payments are on mondays, i receive them saturday due to my bank, but this week it hasn’t come through and it’s not my bank as carers has come through like every other week as normal. No change of address etc and her dad wouldn’t of put a claim in and don’t think i can contact them till monday so stressed at what’s going on

There are kids doing their GCSE’s today that couldn’t get to school because of no bus fair. Absolutely disgusting

If you go back to the first post on this thread you'll see that issues first started to be reported early on the morning of 1st June . . . .

Yes. And they had until today before it was late.

The school didn’t help with that? I find that very hard to believe they’d see a child miss a GCSE exam for want of a bus fare

Could you ask your neighbours for the bus fare? You'll be able 2 pay them back in 2 days

Unfortunately they are useless. The receptionist didn't even seem interested at all tbh great way to kick someone when they're already down on the floor as it is.

Remember that next time the school asks for money

Schools won’t even give you a calculator if you forget yours for an exam. All I know is 3 people didn’t turn up to the exam that my son was in today and apparently it’s because they couldn’t get it. Exam started at 9am. What exactly was the school meant to do that early?

Someone would have got them if they'd phoned early enough

The parent didn’t have a single school mum friend they could have called? Even if they’d asked on Facebook, someone would have sorted something.

Theredoubtableskins · 03/06/2024 17:45

And someone would have been in school from at least 8am. A teacher would have picked them up, the school would have sent a taxi they have a contract with. It would have been taken care of.

Or started waking if possible and hitched a lift

How awful that this has caused so much chaos and that so many people are living hand to mouth like this, with no back up plan when things go wrong. I feel bad for everyone affected.

I suppose a lot of people nowadays have no savings at all, due to the cost of living crisis etc? And the state doesn't care. Hence the rise of food banks etc.

How could this be changed?

Hopefully the GE will start a wave of change. One can but hope!

For the lady above I agree that some moan and don’t need it but just remember the ones that do and one of those is my daughter whose apparently been overlooked and told her today that it should all be sorted as her cut of date was 23rd May. Her baby is 3 months old and she applied online when she had her baby

Hello everyone

We've had a number of reports from people concerned about this thread so, as we usually do in these circs, we're putting our heads round the door with some important reminders.

The truth is that, sadly, we at MNHQ can't know with 100% certainty that any poster is genuine, no matter who they are or how long they have been here. As frustrating as it is, we're not able to vouch for anyone here.

So we always ask users to remember that not everyone on the internet is who they say they are – and remind folk not to give more to another poster, either financially (in cash or gifts) or emotionally (in time or care and support) than they'd be prepared to lose if things went wrong. We strongly advise against parting with any cash or giving away your personal details, and if you receive a PM which makes you uneasy - report it to us and we’ll take a look.

OssomMummy1 · 03/06/2024 18:09

So, what's the latest update? Has everyone received the CB money now? Or some still pending?

Jess2731 · 03/06/2024 18:12

I can’t believe that they are making people wait until Wednesday now, absolute disgrace. Don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow managed to scrap together what I could for dinner tonight out the freezer. Only got two nappies left, can’t believe they have put people in this position, maybe next time when people are phoning and saying I think there’s an issue instead of palming us off and Sayimg it’s your bank actually look into to it. It’s just a joke and they chose to give us an update after they close pretty convenient that is
