hi i normally receive my payments every monday for one child (4yo) i’ve received no letters or anything and had payment as normal last week. Although my payments are on mondays, i receive them saturday due to my bank, but this week it hasn’t come through and it’s not my bank as carers has come through like every other week as normal. No change of address etc and her dad wouldn’t of put a claim in and don’t think i can contact them till monday so stressed at what’s going on

Cannot believe it’s still not sorted- HMRC should be ashamed of the hardship, no matter how short-lived, it has caused for thousands of families who literally live hand to mouth…

Friends94 · 03/06/2024 14:18

Ok thank you, just wanted to check as I'm monthly and havnt got it but most are saying weekly.

Theredoubtableskins · 03/06/2024 14:18

@Desperatemum3

You’re a bit too far from me, I’m sorry. Are you part of any local Facebook groups? We have a few and they all have people (or the community organisers posting on their behalf) asking if anyone can give some food to families who haven’t had their payments. There must be some Facebook community pages where you are too. Ask. Don’t be embarrassed.

Literally nothing? So u don’t have a thing at all in ur kitchen?

I have I packet of pasta, 2 onions, half a loaf of bread and milk!!! Apart from that I have nothing. I live week to week. I get £59 every week child benefit which I use for a top up shop on top of the large shop I do on the 5th of the month when I get universal credit.

Do you not have any friends or family that can either give you some food or drive you to a food bank to get some food?

Missguidedsmiles · 03/06/2024 14:23

They're probably going to either continue to blame it on 'technical difficulties or a cyber theft'😂

Mum201719 · 03/06/2024 14:24

I panicked too when I saw it hadn’t gone in. I get mine 4 weekly and was depending on it today to pay for school trips that the school have planned and want paying for and a few bits the kids need. Luckily nothing to urgent so it hard to see that some people urgently need this money for food etc. what’s really bad was that many people realised that something wasn’t right and tried to let HMRC know but weren’t listened to and if they had maybe listened then this could have been avoided. HMRC have just issued an update on X saying they are trying to get today’s payments out ASAP and all of tomorrow’s scheduled payments will go ahead as normal. Still not good enough when people depend on it.

Some of these comments do not pass the vibe check.
No matter how much or how little a family needs a benefit payment, judging someone else’s circumstances is unacceptable…
If you are higher up the ladder be sure to reach down to lift up the person who is struggling to be where you are!…

No I do not. My parents are both dead and I have very little friends. The ones I do have are in the same situation as me and are awaiting funds.

Theredoubtableskins · 03/06/2024 13:41

It’s weird that they all get it today if they’re 4 weekly. Child benefit date depends on when you apply. I get paid 4 weekly but mine is due next Monday (the 10th). I know a few people who should have got it today, but a lot of people who got their 4 weekly pay last week or aren’t due it for a couple of weeks yet.

Just off for everyone you know to be due it today.

My friend, colleague and SIL. All on 4 weekly and all received theirs today. One colleague was last Monday on 4 weekly.

Bert789 · 03/06/2024 14:31

I would suggest all affected should put a complaint to HMRC online and explain your individual circumstances.
BBC are encouraging people to do this.

I’m 4 weekly and still haven’t received anything

Mumof3cally · 03/06/2024 14:38

I usually receive mine every Monday but haven’t got it today :( wonder what is happening?

SR96 · 03/06/2024 14:48

This honestly makes me so sad that tons of people will be struggling today! I wish I could help in any way, I’m with Halifax & I’ve not been paid yet either. I’m hoping this gets resolved today and doesn’t cause anymore problems for people!!

ColeyMac87 · 03/06/2024 14:49

@Desperatemum3 I am so sorry you're going through this.. one thing you absolutely are not though is a failure! ❤️ you're just doing what needs to be done as a parent when times are hard. This whole situation is crap. It's unfair. I really hope you get sorted and we're all paid what's owed soon. Keep your chin up, you got this x

ChirpyTealEagle · 03/06/2024 14:50

I know down here if we contact our local church they help with food maybe it’s the same up there but worth giving it a go , I hope you get sorted iv still not been paid myself xx

Sendhelp101 · 03/06/2024 14:54

I'm not sure if this is allowed or not but if anyone is in South East Wales and anyone desperately needs help with food or essentials for little ones I'm happy to deliver a few bits to you to see you through. I'm waiting on payment but luckily have enough food for us both for a while x

Desperatemum3 · 03/06/2024 14:10

Unfortunately they are useless. The receptionist didn't even seem interested at all tbh great way to kick someone when they're already down on the floor as it is.

That’s really terrible. I’m sorry I am not closer to help. Please do consider reaching out to local churches / places of worship if you have any.

Teegy · 03/06/2024 14:57

My cb hasn’t gone in either I bank with Barclays should of gone in Saturday but dated for today and nothing and HMRC not answering
