PIP

Hi. New to the forum and PIP and am hoping some of the forum members can help me understand the claim process a little better, I applied for PIP in early December 2022. DWP told me that Capita had received my forms on December 9th. But i have not had a phone assessment scheduled yet. So i called Capita just to make sure everything was fine with my claim. They told me this morning that my claim "is in initial review" and that they "are requesting info from my medical contacts so they can do a Paper assessment". Is this a good/bad sign that my claim will be successful?

Hi i had my video assesment last wednesdsy txt on thursdsy to say dwp had recieved the report and it would be 6 weeks before i hear i was asked if i was on sociol media and do i work im sure being able to work 2 days a week has gone against me has anyone else had a similar experience

It shouldn't make any difference. I know people who get full PIP who work.

If they say anything in your report about it, and refuse you points as a result, you have grounds for asking them to look again.

The DWP will do anything to avoid having to pay people any money.

TheShellBeach · 13/03/2023 14:27

@Sara0 Have you heard anything yet?

Sara0 · 13/03/2023 14:51

@TheShellBeach hi hun no I haven’t o got a text saying they received my report on the 01/03/2023 but after that not heard nothing. I also requested my report on Thursday last week they said I will receive it in 10 days…

Donnagl · 13/03/2023 15:05

Donnagl · 13/03/2023 16:46

xxAmy · 13/03/2023 18:02

Why would they ask about social media? I wasn’t asked that, I have been awarded not long ago and do have social media also

mammaov3 · 13/03/2023 18:22

@xxAmy was you awarded from your review? and how long did the decision take after assessment?

xxAmy · 13/03/2023 18:39

@mammaov3 1st claim for me, assessment 16th Jan report text received 20th Jan & awarded 2nd feb

Shebaduke · 13/03/2023 18:58

I dont know why she asked me about sociol media but i phoned dwp today to ask for my report and she said we dont generally send reports out only if you didnt recieve an award and yours hasnt been looked at yet and to ring back in about a fortnight but i will send it to you if you really want it so i felt bit pressured and said no dont bother to send it then🙉🙉

Shebaduke · 13/03/2023 19:00

My anxiety now also through the roof

Have a good night sleep, then in the morning call back the PIP enquiry line
(Telephone: 0800 121 4433). Tell them about your anxiety, and you must have a copy of the report sent to you.

xxAmy · 13/03/2023 19:18

@Shebaduke I agree with the comment above, ring them as that’s a lie! I had mine sent out and got awarded, they went with the same points on my report. Lets us know how you get on, the waiting is agonising!

Shebaduke · 13/03/2023 19:38

Thankyou both x

Donnagl · 13/03/2023 20:13

Can someone tell me does no txt to say they got the report mean I'm most probably not been awarded as I had assement on 28th Feb first time claiming and I seem to be only one who has not had txt message as most seem to get it a day or 2 after the assement thank tia

mammaov3 · 13/03/2023 21:13

Donnagl · 13/03/2023 22:00

I haven't had a text and when I phoned them they hadn't received the assessor's report. My assessment was on 23rd Feb, so you're not alone.

Donnagl · 13/03/2023 23:38

That makes me feela bit better fingers crossed for you soon Hun x

Sara0 · 14/03/2023 11:13

It wouldn't make any difference their not interested in diagnosis just how it effects you

They ask about social media because they assume this means you can somehow socialise. Yet face to face is clearly totally different!

mammaov3 · 14/03/2023 15:39

oh right i do get alot of pain due to gallstones witch i thought all pain was coming from but had a ultrasound and they have now found liver desease also.
