Hi. New to the forum and PIP and am hoping some of the forum members can help me understand the claim process a little better, I applied for PIP in early December 2022. DWP told me that Capita had received my forms on December 9th. But i have not had a phone assessment scheduled yet. So i called Capita just to make sure everything was fine with my claim. They told me this morning that my claim "is in initial review" and that they "are requesting info from my medical contacts so they can do a Paper assessment". Is this a good/bad sign that my claim will be successful?

Something weird happened. I'v had the review and been waiting over a year for it. Im now waiting for the decision. Over £2250 has been put into my account by Pip. Just wondering why. I don't dare touch it in case its a mistake. The only thing i can think of is that i have been awarded the enhanced rate and they have backdated it.

That'll be what it's for.

Sounds like back pay. If it's like mine, you'll get a letter in a few days with the details. It would appear the paying money department is more efficient than the sending out letters department!

I'm very pleased if this is the case as i will be able to afford a bigger car for mobility stuff. I'd sort of given up and never asked for any help with form filling this time.

Happy Easter.
I ended up with the enhanced rate of daily living but 10 points on mobility. I don't qualify for a motability car as they have estimated that i can walk more than 20 metres. I can on some days. It depends on pain. I was going to contest it but now think that i will see how it goes as i find it very stress inducing going through these procedures.

Hi is there anyone approaching 6 week mark for review decision and not heard anything yet ?
its doing my head in waking up to no txt message or anything and i know people who get txts have been getting them very early in the morning 😒 feel like this is another lost day already 😑.

You may not even get a text.
You might just receive a letter, or some unexpected money in your bank account.
The DWP are very disorganized, as you know.
Jeez. I hope it isn't much longer for you.

can money go in your bank at anytime of day or is it genuinely on a morning after midnight 🤔

Usually about half twelve, but sometimes first thing in the morning.

@mammaov3 hope ur well.. call them and say I need an update as it’s been 6 weeks.. luckily the guy who answered my call the other day said yeah u have been waiting and I will message ur case manager … some workers can be pricks and some workers r very nice .. (mind my language ) when did u last call?

@Sara0 i last called them last Thursday as i was told monday before than that i would hear before Easter, and they seid oh i don't know why you was told before Easter when it can be another couple of weeks yet , i Don't raily want to ring again because its a hours hold just to get told oh a decision hasn't been made yet 🙄 but my 6 weeks is up monday and i have a feeling it will go over the 6 weeks also.

@mammaov3 I’d say wait till Thursday and call coz it’s been a week… try calling at 9am I usually get through in 15/20 mins or call Friday morning x I got my message last Thursday at 8.03am..

is it just the standard review form
if so I wouldn’t worry about it
my neice has been waiting since Oct and another friend since Dec

when my niece rang they said call back 3 months before the award is due to end if she hasn’t had it reviewed and we will give you a year extension so you can get your blue badge if necessary

@Yabado no i sent my review form back 18 months ago and finally had my assessment 7th march, now i am waiting on a decision from the DM.
