ruralwanderer · 01/07/2022 08:02

I can't believe we're already more than halfway through the year. I hope those of you that are established £10 a Day-ers are still doing well, keeping motivated and chasing the £££s. Welcome to all the newbies - hopefully these threads will help you as much as they've helped me and many others.

For the newbies - I'd recommend grabbing a cup of tea and reading back through the previous threads before you sign up for anything. Most of your questions will have already been answered and you'll hit the ground running if you've already got an idea what this is all about.

What Appen was it for @justalittlebitextra?

Check your spam email or your projects to see if it says 'work this'.

I just think I'm not suited to Appen, I did the ads rating years ago and apart from surveys have never got into another project.

Once I did an exam and it just stopped in the middle. I contacted them but they were very unhelpful - we are just cogs not people and plenty of people keen to do this work so why should they care?

RiverSkater · 27/07/2022 11:16

@ElephantGrey101 it's self employed and nothing to do with your employed work so why would they ever need to know?

I wasn’t sure if you could get maternity pay and still be self employed.

Qmee is literally driving me mad. I spend so much time on the surveys, to get to what feels like nearly the end and then they say 'we've already got enough participants for this survey' or 'sorry, you don't qualify'. Angry

I very rarely get that with Qmee. Most of the surveys I am able to complete and, if not, they almost always say so at the beginning.

Has anyone completed a project through the Chinese side of Ap* before? Been invited on a project but the instructions made little to no sense the conversion to English was so poor!

I looked at one a few months ago, not sure if it’s the same one.

I didn’t go ahead as you had to download software to do the jobs, which you can’t delete without reformatting the hard drive. Aside from how dodgy that sounds, I can’t reformat my laptop because it’s second hand and I don’t have any installation disks.

8DPWoah · 28/07/2022 09:08

With App, has anyone done either 'book with maps about the world' or 'surname of brothers in EastEnders'? Got qual quizzes for both to do and wondering if either are worth a pop?

justalittlebitextra · 28/07/2022 09:14

@8DPWoah - I'm on the book of maps one (as is @Catatemyhomework ) and I quite like it. Very sporadic work though - there have been a couple of massive drops (I think I had around 10 days worth before it ran out) but recently it's just been a couple of hours here and there and if you are busy then you miss out as it goes really quickly. They seem to have recruited massively recently if chat is anything to go by though so I'm hoping there is lots of work in the pipeline. The quizzes are all pretty short though (10-15 mins tops).

Catatemyhomework · 28/07/2022 11:15

@justalittlebitextra and @8DPWoah , yes I'm on the book of maps but it sucks for me right now. I am apparently an elite rater and in the golden queue, basically auditing other tasks. My work load has dropped massively because I don't get as many tasks as others. I used to get thousands when I was an ordinary rater. Not much of a promotion! Hmm

Twobecomingthreeplusthedog · 28/07/2022 11:21

So I finally got passed the screening stage on two projects. One is the name of a water source in the ground, it says I am now awaiting onboarding. The other is two words, second one is the name for a man who waits on you and brings you food..however I found the exam instructions a bit baffling if i'm honest so not optimistic I passed any of those 10 qualification questions!

Thanks for this! I applied and completed the quiz which I'm pretty sure I got wrong given that I had little to no instruction. Just hoping I can start to work on one on the UK platform...i've only been waiting 8 months now..!!

stillherenow · 18/07/2022 08:59

I'll be sending daily emails come the end of the month. I have two more months to invoice as well. All for small amounts so I also do not believe him.

@stillherenow Thought I'd let you know that I sent him a rather stern email this morning threatening a legal letter and as if by magic he has found the money to pay both my invoices!! 😂

stillherenow · 28/07/2022 15:14

@BecauseOfIndia ooh good for you. Will do the same next week

8DPWoah · 28/07/2022 21:25

Hey @Catatemyhomework forgot to say well done on still being on the dreaded Y, you must be doing well!

Just had a look at the guidelines for the book of maps and saw SxS... Eek...but then realised it was talking about images lol.

Catatemyhomework · 29/07/2022 11:44

@8DPWoah, thanks. I am amazed I am still on it! I did well in my last sxs review having failed the previous two spectacularly! It is still stressful but I am still persevering.

Don't worry about the maps books projects. There are loads of different ones. I currently rate food!

On another note, it looks like I have passed an exam for a Malta project. I got the email last night and sat it this morning. Anyone else doing it?

Graphista · 29/07/2022 12:06

Laptop needed an update which was done last night now getting a "system error" when I try to login to Appen can anyone help?

Catatemyhomework · 29/07/2022 12:25

@Graphista, sometimes I get a system error when trying to log in to appen. I think sometimes the site is a bit glitchy. Other than that, I'm not sure. Try closing it down and re-entering username and password. Make sure you are on the appen connect site. Hope you get access soon.

Graphista · 29/07/2022 13:51

Managed to access via email link - annoying though

SortingOffice · 29/07/2022 14:37

I found this thread by accident a few weeks ago and signed up for Prolific. I've made £90 in just under a month for a few minutes a day. Quite enjoy some of them as well.

Murraysmum · 29/07/2022 16:33

Is anyone having problems with the listening tasks on Clickworker at the moment. I accept the job but where the audio rater thing is I just get this message; rvd.ivonaservice.com refused to connect. If I try to do it via the app on my phone then where the audio rater thing is is just blank. I have sent in a ticket to ask about it but no response as yet. Frustrating as there are loads of audio jobs at the moment.

Ncc · 30/07/2022 08:26

can we talk Bottlepay? I’ve sent my referral link to loads of people, posted it everywhere for weeks yet I’ve received nothing, it’s meant to be £5 per sign up. Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

I get that all the time. I sent a ticket and they replied saying it hasn't happened to anyone else, and they don't know why it is happening to me (not very helpful!)

JLbaby · 30/07/2022 12:51

@Murraysmum @AnotherOne4 yes they said the same to me, obviously incorrect! I don’t bother doing them any more as they have never worked for me.

Theres threads about it in the forum. Some of the RVD errors you can navigate by switching off btprotect but it isn't working with this batch.
Really frustrating
