ruralwanderer · 01/07/2022 08:02

I can't believe we're already more than halfway through the year. I hope those of you that are established £10 a Day-ers are still doing well, keeping motivated and chasing the £££s. Welcome to all the newbies - hopefully these threads will help you as much as they've helped me and many others.

For the newbies - I'd recommend grabbing a cup of tea and reading back through the previous threads before you sign up for anything. Most of your questions will have already been answered and you'll hit the ground running if you've already got an idea what this is all about.

Is anyone having problems with the listening tasks on Clickworker at the moment. I accept the job but where the audio rater thing is I just get this message; rvd.ivonaservice.com refused to connect. If I try to do it via the app on my phone then where the audio rater thing is is just blank. I have sent in a ticket to ask about it but no response as yet. Frustrating as there are loads of audio jobs at the moment.

Came here to say same thing

stillherenow · 31/07/2022 14:24

@BecauseOfIndia got there in the end with SS and have been paid.

I'm sticking just with potatoes and prolific now, I'm less keen on Appen these days as all the jobs seem to have long qualifications. I like dipping in and doing what I can when I can and don't find these ones remotely stressful -I definitely can't take on extra deadlines and faff over payment while already working FT!

Has anyone completed a project through the Chinese side of Ap* before? Been invited on a project but the instructions made little to no sense the conversion to English was so poor!

I've just been given logon for that but don't even know what it is😆

BecauseOfIndia · 31/07/2022 14:52

@stillherenow I'm so glad you got your money! I feel the same - I earnt less than £50 with SS but I seemed to spend ages on it, not just the boring montonous work but also in chasing the payment.

I think I have officially given up on Appen as well now - I am so angry with them and how they treat their workers. I was invited to take the exam for Y**on - encouraged to read pages of boring stuff in prep for it, then on the day the email didn't arrive with the exam link. I contacted support who acknowledged a problem at their end and said they would be in touch when it was sorted out. It never was and then the project disappeared from my list. When I emailed to ask what was happening with the rescheduled exam I got a reply which said - "Thank you for your interest in this project, it is now full." What a total waste of time!! I think in the last 2 years I have passed at least 5 qualifications and not one of them has actually resulted in any work! 😠

AnotherOne4 · 31/07/2022 15:55

@BecauseOfIndia @stillherenow I get your disappointment with Ap, I feel the same. I've not a a decent project, in fact...I've not had ANY project from them this year 😔

Elcid · 31/07/2022 15:57

I love these threads.

Started off at Crisp thinking, then got sick of how they treated me so moved to Modsquad.

I love the work, there's lots of variety and they pay holidays, pension and sick pay. You can pick your hours too but need to do a minimum of 20 hours a week.

I haven't commented on this thread for about a year but never see Modsquad mentioned so thought I'd give them a shout out. NDAs are strict but all info is on their webpage.

GreenBlueYellow · 31/07/2022 17:51

Hi all. Joining the thread. I was doing Appen and a few others a year or so ago and am now hoping to restart after a break. Planning to try some matches betting.

Graphista · 31/07/2022 22:36

Failed the way with words audio quiz but no idea how! Any tips or just sympathy?

MaudGone · 31/07/2022 23:19

@Graphista , what helped me was minimising punctuation, and ignoring "uhms" and "ahs".

Graphista · 01/08/2022 04:56

Already did that my written English is excellent I can't understand where I went wrong

ruralwanderer · 01/08/2022 06:55

@Graphista , don't take it to heart - the WWW test is notoriously difficult to pass.

I found this thread by accident a few weeks ago and signed up for Prolific. I've made £90 in just under a month for a few minutes a day. Quite enjoy some of them as well.

@SortingOffice did you join a waiting list at all a few weeks ago? I signed up last week but said they’d contact me when taking on new people.

SortingOffice · 02/08/2022 21:36

@Twobecomingthreeplusthedog .I did sign up to the waiting list but was accepted the same day.
Since then DS signed up and was accepted after a few days. He is 23 and WFH.

Rapidtango · 19/08/2022 15:06

@Graphista, just did the www audio tests and failed, also have no idea why as got 100% in the spelling, grammar and research bits, followed all the instructions on ellipses etc, did the test twice and scored 35% both times Hmm.
