Finally…. Been invited to join crisp thinking after 2 and a half years on the waiting list. Have reviewed all the docs and now waiting for the next step. I hope it’s worth the wait!

TempTraffic · 22/03/2022 18:51

BettlejuicesMum I only just applied last weekend so I'm in for a very long wait!

Redcrayons · 22/03/2022 18:53

That’s great @BettlejuicesMum. It’s pretty busy at the moment.

FYI please don’t write READ at the bottom of every page on the Wiki. Everyone else gets notified by email and it’s gets a bit annoying.

BettlejuicesMum · 22/03/2022 18:57

I didn’t thankfully 😅

BettlejuicesMum · 22/03/2022 18:57

Yes a very long wait indeed…

AdaShelby · 22/03/2022 19:23

My friend was invited to join crisp after a nearly 2 year wait. I told her to accept but not to expect much, if they've over recruited like usual it'll soon be £3 an hour on a good day again Grin

Adelais · 22/03/2022 22:59

I’ve been with crisp for 2 years and there seems to be a regular pattern of there being a busy month so then they recruit loads of new people which is then followed by several months where there’s not much work so hard to make money. Then it gets busy again as people leave cos it’s not worth it and then repeat.

MarigoldMoonStone · 23/03/2022 08:32

It’s pretty busy lately!

NativityDreaming · 23/03/2022 12:29

I decided to try out Branded Surveys, my link for anyone interested surveys.gobranded.com/users/register/dba8dbab21d1714d4c1f6f8a1, and my impressions are:

  • easy to take surveys whilst watching TV
  • easy to get weekly bonus by completing X amount of surveys a week
  • possible to get asked to participate in focus group after taking a survey, I did an hour yesterday for £40
  • can get screened out of a survey so you invest time for little reward
  • easy payment option e.g. PayPal or gift card
  • they have responded by crediting me points if I was unfairly not awarded them after a survey
  • low paying but for me watching tv in the evening is dead time anyway, I like doing something and get some money for it
  • I seem to be making £5-10 a week (this week excepted because of the focus group)
  • the surveys are a bit boring, mostly marketing focus, but answering honestly/completely and it is easy enough

Just my thoughts in case anyone was thinking of doing it too.

Hi everyone. Appen users…am I doing something wrong or is there just no work? I’ve got the website on all the time and am refreshing but there are never any tasks to complete? How am I supposed to up my levels if there is no work? Now beginning to wonder if I’ve done something wrong?

ruralwanderer · 24/03/2022 10:07

@worriedmumma85 are you on Appen Connect or Appen Global? It's Connect you want 👍

Am** people.. just in case anyone hasn't read the recent emails.. if you haven't gotten round to doing reviews for any products you've received, make sure you do them today or tomorrow. The recent emails state that only products with reviews completed on or before 25th March will be reimbursed in the March payment run. Otherwise they'll only be paid in April or May (depending when your review is done or you can mark as not arrived).

Unsurprisingly there's a lot of grumbling in chat, the moderators are trying to get clarification but haven't heard back yet (as far as I can see). So if you've received your products I'd recommend doing the reviews asap in case they do implement this from this month!

stillherenow · 24/03/2022 13:22

Omg 2 years on just got accepted to potato ! Is it still lucrative ?

stillherenow · 24/03/2022 13:24

Sorry over excited and just read pp. so it's worth doing but expect a slow start with the hope it will pick up as people drop off?

What's peoples average yearly income on it?

And the test before starting work - hard?

This is a bit annoying as I’ve got two coming from China and not due till next week. They aren’t hugely expensive this time round, but I have had months when I’m waiting on hundred or so pounds.

It’s hard to predict day to day how much work there’s going to be. They have a number of really high profile household name brands. If they do something wrong or theres a problem, it can go crazy busy for a short burst and then it goes quiet again. And they recruit loads of people at the same time, so there’s even less work to go round.

When I first started it was really busy, and I was making £10/15 per day in a couple of hours (and I’m slow). The last couple of months £3 per hour has been a challenge.

stillherenow · 24/03/2022 14:15

@Redcrayons that sounds irritating , £3 an hour definitely isn't worth it. Will see if I can stick with it anyway

whysotriggered · 24/03/2022 14:17

with regards to potato, the recent message is interesting and can be interpreted that they don't want to pay existing people more and would rather have more workers who all earn less. Or maybe I am being cynical.

Wouldn't surprise me. Their messages were always so shitty towards us. Bunch of dicks!
Redcrayons · 24/03/2022 17:25

They certainly have an interesting communication style, that’s for sure.

stillherenow · 25/03/2022 15:24

With potato, is it that the work is slow coming in, rather than it takes a long time ? If I do my usual work on one computer but have potato open on another one, is that doable, so where I can I do a bit here and there ? So it's £3 an hour average but that's not watching the screen for a full hour that's just how much work comes in? This is how I work with prolific (which this month is busy!)
