It's my first time starting one of these threads so I hope the links all work!

Welcome back to those who have joined in before and hello to any newbies that want to jump on board - if you have any questions fire away and someone will hopefully be able to help!

Well I seem to have pleased the gods somehow as I was accepted for the 'additional task' peeling spuds, for which it seems there are regular shifts. All set up ready to go so I'll see how well the rest of the month goes!

Everything crossed for this, as I have nothing else going on at the moment at all. Saying that I've cashed out £10 on prolific in the past week and have another £5 pending so seem to have been lucky there.

evtheria · 13/01/2022 11:16

@rhij86 Ooh lucky you! I need to be more consistent with potatoes before I’m brave enough to put my hand up for those... Can you tell us whether it’s a set pay, or a ‘bonus plus ppi’ (like the general shifts)?

rhij86 · 13/01/2022 11:23

@evtheria I understand it's going to be set pay... much better imo!

evtheria · 13/01/2022 11:24

@rhij86 That’s great - well done!

rhij86 · 13/01/2022 11:25

@evtheria thank you :)

Winterjoy · 13/01/2022 11:46

Anyone else still waiting for the December payment from Ap? It's showing as approved in invoices but still no transfer yet to Payoneer. Looking back It's usually paid by 11th of the month - starting to get a bit concerned!

rhij86 · 13/01/2022 11:53

@Winterjoy I am too, for some reason I had the date of the 14th, or the working day before that, in my head - fingers crossed for tomorrow?

ruralwanderer · 13/01/2022 12:23

Well done @rhij86!

I never worry about Appen til the 14th Smile

Hoping it’s overnight tonight, but it’s technically the 14th US time I believe.

AnotherOne4 · 13/01/2022 19:16

I've not been paid from Ap yet either, hoping it's overnight.

Urgh, I don't like the new Prolific format Sad

AppleJane · 13/01/2022 19:19

Yeah @AnotherOne4 I thought my browser was playing up Grin

TheChip · 14/01/2022 05:54

I use Qmee. Its a survey app and you can cash out to PayPal with a penny, so no waiting for to cash it. I usually just wait until I hit £5 and then cash out.
qm.ee/IRZC2WPOAIJBA 50p for you and me if you join with my link when you make your first cash out.

The surveys do time out quite a bit, but more so before you even start rather than when you're part way through so it's not as bad.
I earned £25 last month and it was my first month.
This month I've earned £10 but I've been a bit more busy.
They are handy when you're just sitting there bored.

rainbowstardrops · 14/01/2022 06:35

I'd be interested in finding ways to make a bit more money

Wolf1970 · 14/01/2022 08:45

Has anyone actually received their Appen money yet? Mine is showing as pending in Payoneer, bloody annoying.

justalittlebitextra · 14/01/2022 08:58

That's annoying. Mine was in my Payoneer account when I woke up this morning, just waiting for the transfer to my bank account to happen.

Wolf1970 · 14/01/2022 09:25

Thanks @justalittlebitextra must just be me then!

rhij86 · 14/01/2022 09:45

@Wolf1970 mine had done the ap > payoneer > paypal trip overnight and was waiting for me this morning. Hope yours doesn't take too much longer!

Wolf1970 · 14/01/2022 09:54

Thanks @rhij86 it’s just annoying as I was going to give some money to DD2 towards a bill.

PigeonPigPie · 14/01/2022 10:06

I'm new to the party!! Have started a strict budget this year with a "no buy" list and lots of neat pots on Monzo. Have just signed up to Appen and been accepted for a job and DH is going to teach me how to do matched betting (he made about £1500 over lockdown). Am going on unpaid mat leave soon so want to get some side money streams going now that I can hopefully carry on with over the year.
Have set up a separate bank account for all these bits so I can keep track of it all. No doubt will be back to ask for some sage wisdom very soon!! Grin

rhij86 · 14/01/2022 10:11

@Wolf1970 it's always when you need/want the money for something specific that it ends up delayed, isn't it :(

@PigeonPigPie good luck with everything!

Wolf1970 · 14/01/2022 10:13

@rhij86 I know!

I just found an email from
Payoneer asking me to verify my account which was sent at 1am. I verified it ages ago. Currently on hold to customer services.

Catatemyhomework · 14/01/2022 10:17

Does anyone here get paid from Telus (LB)? I have noticed they have paid me but then there is a separate transaction where they have withdrawn £5 from my account? I can't work out why!

Wolf1970 · 14/01/2022 10:23

Urghh solved the problem with Payoneer i hadn’t filled in their business details questionnaire because I don’t actually have a business website. I had to put in my FB web address. Grr will take up to another 48 hours.

Tinging · 14/01/2022 10:32

Does anyone have any recommendations for Appen projects at the moment? My hour a day (ogd**) has finished and I could do with something around 5 hours a week. Definitely not 10+ hours as I have Telus to do too but lower hours or one off projects would be great if anyone knows of any worth applying for?

Wolf1970 · 14/01/2022 10:42

@Tinging I think the answer to that is to read the description of each project and apply for anything you can possibly do. You don’t really get to pick and choose.

I have been accepted for 4 projects in recent months after applying for everything but only started work on one as the others over recruited.

On my current project quite a lot of people were kicked off after the first tranche of work and they recruited a number who won’t actually start work.
