Couldn't see a December thread so thought I'd start one. Last chance to earn some extra pennies in 2021, hope it's a good month for everybody (for profit and festivities!) Smile

Links copied over from last thread. Welcome back to those who have joined in before and hello to any newbies that want to jump on board - if you have any questions fire away and someone will hopefully be able to help!

Micro tasks / Moderation work – generally the biggest earners.

@8dpwoah

Well we can get done for tax evasion together then as that's what I'm doing too 😂 although I possibly need to build up my tax bill saving pot a little as it currently stands at £0.00 Blush

I have a friend that's an accountant but she has a newborn so I'll ask her after the next couple of months if i get chance.

If you could ask when we need to apply as self employed too, that'd be great Grin

My Appen project has just finished. I wish I could get onto one of these year long projects lol.
For all the newbies joining, welcome Smile My advice (as always) would be keep chipping away at it. It takes awhile to find your feet and understand what is what. Holler if you need help though.

@carrottopper, hopefully this link should explain it better than I can: www.gosimpletax.com/blog/paying-tax-on-second-job/

And for @AnotherOne4, a Google search has brought up, "According to HMRC, you should register at the earliest opportunity. However, there's a deadline – legally you need to register by 5 October after the end of the tax year in which you became self-employed. For example, if you started your business in July 2021, you'd need to register with HMRC by 5 October 2022."

AnotherOne4 · 03/01/2022 14:06

@ruralwanderer thanks for that. I'm a little nervous about doing it all. But I'm keeping good records of what has been earnt, and from where. So when it comes to it, I'll have all the info I need.

Good tip to newbies....keep a good record of what you earn, from where, when etc.

blahblahx · 03/01/2022 14:13

Oh wow I don't even know where to begin! I have so much reading to do on this thread as I'd love to get in involved

AnotherOne4 · 03/01/2022 15:11

Would someone be willing to start the new January thread? I tried giving it a go, but I don't want to balls it up! lol

Lifeisforalimitedperiodonly · 03/01/2022 19:25

I just failed the exam for Riv.
BOLLOCKS.
Onwards and upwards then.....!! LOL

ruralwanderer · 03/01/2022 20:10

I've started a new thread here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/legal_money_matters/4443773-Earn-10-A-Day-Jumping-Into-January-2022

Don't think all the links are working as they should but if you copy and paste them into a new tab they should open ok 👍

AnotherOne4 · 03/01/2022 21:16

@ruralwanderer ooo well done for starting the new thread Smile

karmakemmie · 03/02/2022 16:43

Hello, I thought I'd revive the thread again. Grin
I have managed to get onto Prolific and have seen a few surveys that I could have applied for but I need a desktop. Annoyingly I don't have a desktop or a laptop (just a work one which I dare not use for this Blush). Has anyone who's signed up have the same issue? Or am I alone in only using my iPad and phone for internet stuff? Is it worth buying a cheap refurbished desktop?

Catatemyhomework · 03/02/2022 17:11

Hi, can anyone let me know how long Rev take to get back to you? Just trying to work out if silence means I failed the test! Thank you
