Hi all, happy May. Welcome to this months thread. I'll load up the link later. If anyone else wants to do it, feel free, I'm rubbish at it.

The idea of this thread is to earn a bit of extra cash, as the title suggest. Have a look and these threads go back a while and might give you some ideas.

Newbies welcome. We're a lovely, helpful lot.

Anyone know what time (UK) roughly Ap invoices get updated today?

@Bumzoo it’s such a shame. I’d love to get back to doing some work on there.

@lonesome2night no minimum hours required. You have access to jobs and basically just pick the files you fancy. It’s really flexible like that. No additional software, they have their own editor which I really like. Some of the files are an AI draft that you essentially edit, and some are from scratch typing. They pay weekly on a Monday to PayPal.

Tried to do some potato yesterday and gave up. Same again today.

I now can't lot into Appen. It keeps telling me my password is wrong. I tried changing it but no joy.

I emailed them early this morning but not heard anything yet

Thanks @YonderTweek, yes I’ve marked my activation email as not spam. I still haven’t managed to log in. I’ve submitted a ticket so will have to see if that helps.

@PersianStar - I've just received my email for SRT login. Did you get yours?

I've just logged in and haven't a clue what I'm meant to be doing!

@AnotherOne4 yes i have received my SRT login but now I can’t get an activation code?
The guidelines say it should be in the email but I cannot see it anywhere

@ZetaPuppis me too. I've not even tried this month yet, I'm not working for £2/3 an hour. I'll be trying to do the minimum on the last week of the month (again) no doubt.

I wonder if people will just jack it in?

Hopefully @Bumzoo and then we can get some work back! It's so slow 😩 I did a bit earlier but I find it so hard to get in the zone with it when you're waiting for ages between items, I just get distracted.

@Bumzoo I hope so. It seems like people are making a lot of mistakes too? I’m not sure but that’s the impression I got.

Has anyone done the test for By**m? I've failed twice and have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm used to using IPA so thought this would be fairly straightforward....

So I'm working on Appen - finally got on SRT ( not sure how now ) and did 4 hours but I've got no dump button - at the end I marked myself as unavailable so worried I've not dumped before logging off Also can't see the task queue, just mark myself as available and task starts. Am I doing something wrong? 😆 I read all the supporting project docs etc Thank you!

Waaaaahhh! It looks like the new round of A**r has started and I'm not on it. I knew this time would come but I'm genuinely a bit sad.

@YonderTweek I think you'll hear overnight. It's 5pm PST, which is overnight tonight.

@seizethecuttlefish A lot of people in the chat are saying they can see products already, and I think I spotted a UK rater or two saying it, so I'm not overly confident. Usually I can see the products when everyone else can. It would be a nice surprise to get on it though!

I'm confused by the skip thing and whether they count as ratings. Mine are like 90% skips so if they are not counted I wouldn't be able to invoice for much at all. This project is so confusing!

I’ve just started this job and 90% of mine are skips. Do you not think we get paid for them?

I don't have any products showing either.

I can see products in the tool (I'm on the sho* spin off project though). 5 again for me.

@anotherone4 I think I read somewhere that the skips that don't count are the ones if you click "next". You can check your user metrics and one of the options will show you how many you have skipped this way, and mine is 0 because I haven't used the "next" button at all yet. Not sure if this is true though, but it kind of makes sense. If the other skips don't count I would be quitting the project because I spend most of my time skipping items. Haha.

I'm still annoyed about A**r though. Lol. I had such a bad round last month but that's not the point. Anyway, happy shopping y'all!

I haven't got the dump and exit button either, but someone in the chat said that if you set yourself as unavailable it will give you the option to either finish the current task or just leave, and that's the same as dumping and exiting.

I haven't got a queue either and I do what you do.

Thanks @YonderTweek - I’ll have a look at my user metrics tomorrow. I don’t think I’ve used the ‘next’ button either.
I want to know how accurate I’m being.
