Noticed the last thread was full so thought i'd better start a new one.

Welcome to posters old and new :-)

Thanks all for the suggestions of Appen - I sent an application in but got an email saying along the lines of “only those under consideration will be contacted” - is this a rejection? And if so, how do I boost my chances of being accepted?

EmmaNumberThree · 22/01/2020 21:54

Wow it's a bumper month!

Lougle · 22/01/2020 21:58

My people!! I was feeling quite displaced.

I posted this on the last thread, but in case anyone needs a FreeTrade code:

You should sign up to Freetrade! It’s this app you can use to invest for free. Plus, when you sign up, we both get a free share - might be Apple or Tesla!
freetrade.io/freeshare/?code=Q8GAHJCQ4I&sender=6UH0dZMn

You need to top up with £1, then you get a free share (and so do I). Once you've topped up by £1, you'll get a code to share with someone else. It can take a while for it all to go through, don't worry.

Glittersocks · 22/01/2020 22:00

Ah, so to begin...

Been having a "stop it and tidy up" moment Grin

Started with deleting Neevo. It never has work and the app takes an age to load. It's like watching a relentless spinning beachball. I got fed up, so it got booted.

Also for the boot was OnePulse, which was a shame because I like them and they're fun. BUT. As a UK company OnePulse aren't paying in ££ but $$ to reach more markets. What was once £5 cash out is now $5. And my $5 was worth £3.73 after Paypal had its go with their exchange rates. It's not worth getting out of bed for.

Also not worth getting out of bed for is Prolific (for me, at least.) I'd high hopes for this. However, survey pay rate is a fraction of minimum wage. I felt the balance between my time taken to invest in a survey that contributes to academic research vs the rate of reward was poor value. I also don't enjoy having to constantly check the Prolific page for studies instead of getting notifications. So, I've cashed out with my £6.62 and will delete my account once it's paid.

Lastly, I've had a £5 Amazon voucher from i-Say which felt hard won. I was also promised a cat food product trial but that never materialised... And I did another tedious YouGov survey for points towards the promised £50 cash out. I have 870 points towards the 5,000 needed, and get an average of 3 surveys a month worth 50 points each. That's about 1800 points per year, so I can expect the £50 sometime in 2023 Shock Seriously? Who's got time for that.

As i-Say & YouGov surveys cheese me off I'm letting them go before I mature into a proper cheddar.

The only one I'm keeping is Google Rewards survey for being quick, fun and sending £2 to my Paypal fairly regularly. Yay!

Takeaway - Glittersocks should probably stay clear of surveys! Grin

For my efforts:

£2.12 Google Rewards
£3.73 OnePulse
£6.62 Prolific
£0.00 YouGov

Total: £12.47 and a £5 Amazon voucher from Ipsos / i-Say

Catatemyhomework · 22/01/2020 22:00

@MoreMoneyPlease, sorry to hear that. It's easily done though. As I said earlier, I managed to not lay my lay bet the other day. Don't understand how as I remember clicking place bet and then confirm bet. Was gutted at the time, but was only £5. I still can't fathom how I didn't place it! Grin. I haven't got onto Smarkets yet, I'm still using Betfair, but know I will have to sign up soon as I will need to put a bet on Paddypower which I believe is the same company as Betfair. There is so much still to learn! I am the same, I have qualified for 2 Appen projects and did the tests and passed and there is no work. I'm not on Crisp yet either. Really need a steady cash injection every month!

Lougle · 22/01/2020 22:00

@Tefiti2 that's their holding email. I had that initially, then several days later got a 'we might be interested, fill in this information'. Then suddenly contracts, etc., which say 'you're only working for us when we say you are...'. Now I have 17 active processes and still no whiff of work, but it will come in time, I'm sure.

themoneyshed · 22/01/2020 22:04

@Catatemyhomework

The sooner you move to Smarkets the better imo. Site works the same as Betfair but it's lower commission

Also, the added advantage of Profit Accumulator & OddsMonkey is that they work very well alongside the exchanges are FREQUENTLY offer 0% commission on the exchange with Smarkets or Betfair

That makes a HUGE difference each month with how much money you take away from all the bets you place!

Review of Profit Accumulator

blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/profit-accumulator-review/

Review of OddsMonkey

blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/oddsmonkey-review/

To get the 0% when it's live (they usually run it for a few months) you simple click a link on your PA or OM dashboard and it likes your account on the matched betting company to the exchange and then they enable the 0% commission!

;)

themoneyshed · 22/01/2020 22:05

@Glittersocks

looks like you have been having a good clear out!

Nothing wrong with that, I always tend to look at what I am earning at the end of each month and from which companies. Anything not working out for me gets dumped as my time is better spelt elsewhere! ;)

themoneyshed · 22/01/2020 22:17

Since it's the start of a new thread some useful links for all you new people who are starting Risk Free Matched Betting

Obviously we have our TOTALLY BOMBASTIC Beginner's Guide to Matched Betting which covered EVERYTHING you could need to know about earning money from it before you start!
blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/what-is-matched-betting/

Then for those of you that have already started and are looking to track your profit but not use on the built in profit trackers you get on Profit Accumulator or OddsMonkey there is Ultimatcher which is a FANTASTIC profit tracking spreadsheet and 100% FREE!
blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/ultimatcher-beginners-guide/

And of course, what do you do when a bet goes unmatched due to not enough money being in the market. It happens to us all and how do you fix it! This guide shows you what to do!

blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/unmatched-or-partially-matched-bets-matched-betting/

And then if you haven't read it yet here is how I've made over £40,000 (well it's around £50,000+ now) over all my years of doing Matched Betting and YOU CAN TOO!

blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/matched-betting-guide/

As I always say, the money is there if you want to make it and there's no reason why anyone on here shouldn't be hitting AT LEAST £700 a month from home!

As always, happy to answer any questions you may about Matched Betting or just earning money online in general.

Catatemyhomework · 22/01/2020 22:19

@themoneyshed, thanks. I will be signing up to Smarkets in the next couple of days as next week is my week 3 of MB and PaddyPower is coming up soon. I think I am currently on 0% commision with BetFair, as I got it through a signup link with team profit. You still have to calculate the liability with 5% but apparently they reimburse the 5% commission for the first 30days. I will sign up to Odds Monkey or Profit Accumulator soon, been using the free trials to try and determine which one I like most. I've been using the odds matching tool a lot. It's my new best friend!

themoneyshed · 22/01/2020 22:24

@Catatemyhomework

Matched Betting tools are ace!

When the likes of Match Catcher offering the ability to do horse racing offer and have a qualifying loss of only a few PENCE or Acca Catcher which lets us pretty much automate our Acca offers they were totally GAME-CHANGING

before then, man alive, it was just spreadsheet central and you had to do everything manually from finding the close matches to working out your lay bet amounts!

dark dark times lol

Boobahs · 22/01/2020 22:40

Hi, I posted this on the second thread but I see we've now moved on!

I've been invited to some assignments in the Lionbridge Social Media Evaluators Labour Cloud but I can't seem to find out the requirements of them on the WorkMarket app. There's 15 of them all with the same title and different payments by them, but other than some hours being different when I click through, I'm not sure what's expected. For example, I don't want to apply to one if it's 20 hours a week with certain hours in certain days as I cannot commit to that much! Anyone else have this?

WWDiana · 22/01/2020 23:06

@themoneyshed thanks for all your help and input!

I've just signed up for;
Appen
Crisp
Neevo
Clickworker
All of which I hadn't heard of until this week. Fingers crossed!!

Regarding matched betting, I'm at a bit of a standstill lately.
Profit this month £50 if I am lucky.

I have done the majority of the sign up offers and I do the weekly clubs that I can.

Started doing 2up a couple of months ago but only ever won once.

EP on horse racing always seems to be a high QI when I look so I haven't dabbled in this properly yet.

I don't really arb because I'm so restricted on my gubbed accounts that the profit is so low (10p)

I have attempted about 50 low risk but I always end up losing, so that's a big chunk of overall profit gone. Maybe I am doing it wrong?

What would you recommend my next steps are?

Thank you!

themoneyshed · 22/01/2020 23:28

@WWDiana

I would suggest just jumping into the reloads section with whichever matched betting service you are using and dong the new daily offers in there. It’s good that you mention “bet clubs” as there is about £50 in value EACH WEEK from all the different ones around :)

Whatsmyname2019 · 23/01/2020 00:07

Place marking

margaritasbythesea · 23/01/2020 06:58

Thanks for the new thread Smile Three in January alone!

MrsWombat · 23/01/2020 07:07

Placemarking!

I've received a free share from Freetrade worth £3, and I've still got a mystery one coming. Is that right? I've been trying to buy a Lloyds share for the past few days but whenever I've tried it either says not available or when I finally managed yesterday the transaction failed at 3pm.

I don't know if it's a banking thing as I've been trying to sign up with Yolt and Emma all yesterday evening and I couldn't get anything to work. Confused

0htooooodles · 23/01/2020 07:10

@boobahs I'm on that currently. It's 20 ads a day which equates to an hour a day basically. Easy money!

Boobahs · 23/01/2020 07:12

@

Boobahs · 23/01/2020 07:14

@0htooooodles Sounds good, which one did you choose though? Out of the 15? They all look the same other than the total hours and amounts you get paid?

ChubRubTub · 23/01/2020 07:29

Has anyone noticed they're earning less on Crisp than usual? I usually manage around £10ph but I'm at around £6 this month. I don't feel like I've slowed down at all - have done surges etc.

Also, does anyone else really struggle to do more than 40 mins at a time. I find it drags so much!

I had an Appen project I was really enjoying but it's run out of work - typical.

Are people applying to Lionbridge as well as Appen now? Do they ask you anything about it in the application process?

TheFishingTrip2019 · 23/01/2020 07:56

I think i posted this on the last thread, but I have signed up for trading 212 which is similar to free trade, the free share I was given was ocado which is worth £13, so well worth it in my opinion, here is my link to join and get a free share:

Create a Trading212Invest account using this link www.trading212.com/invite/FMEpnR3Z and we both get a free share!

otterses · 23/01/2020 08:10

@ChubRubTub

I've found it too. There's been a lot less content than usual, which is what I've put it down to. And a lot of me looking at how low to queue is and deciding not to bother!
