So... Anyone up for an earn £10 a day 2020 thread?

HAPPY NEW YEAR Crown Grin

For anyone who wasn't with us last year, we all set about trying to earn £10 a day on top of our usual income. No MLM schemes or anything dodgy. There were some fantastic amounts achieved, mat leaves extended, babies conceived, and redundancies survived. I know the thread got a bit confusing to follow for new starters, but please don't be intimidated! You don't need any special skills or anything to do any of this, it's all really accessible and I promise we'll all try to be clear about what sites/terms are so no one gets too lost Smile

I haven't had time to put a full list together, and to be honest I want to pop off and go make the most of the content on Crisp Thinking (social media moderation site averaging around £10 per hour) but I was planning on popping up a list a bit later today.

I am having the same problem with a project on Appen, it's showing in projects I'm qualified for and I get the "Work This" button but when I click through, it says "if you are eligible for this task, you will receive an email with instructions....". I haven't had anything yet Confused

Choosername · 07/01/2020 22:01

Hi everyone, I joined up with Appen, but I don’t think I qualify for any of the projects.

Joined up with Utest and have already got an invitation for a project. I’m a bit wary about accepting it (even though they probably won’t take me anyway). It doesn’t say a deadline and I’m scared if I accept and then can’t do it until the weekend they’ll get annoyed.

Any advice?

CallofDoodee · 07/01/2020 22:50

Thanks for the Respondent info earlier. Tbh the thing that put me off was that it wanted info about my employer like company name (I work in a school) and a work email address and I wasnt that comfortable giving that. I guess I could say I'm unemployed?

Plus it didn't have anywhere to put lots of info about yourself like the other surgery sites do. For example, I have had a serious illness that I imagine some places might want patient feedback on, but there was nowhere to put that in?

Plus it's in dollars which puts me off for some reason!

I might try it again soon though as it does seem to be lucrative.

@HarrietThePi I think the biggest risk of opening new accounts is to your credit score; length of banking relationship apparently has an impact.
I believe most of these deals are for first time customers. I already bank with HSBC so I won't be able to benefit from that deal but I could sign up with First Direct I think.

I've just tried to sign into the Appen app and it says PIN incorrect, i will be annoyed if Fletcher Minor has ended when it seems to be the only project I have qualified for that actually does anything when i click on 'work this'.

If anyone wants a £10 sign up bonus for the Chip app, my referral code is 97N7RQ27.

Patapouf · 07/01/2020 23:28

How's everyone doing with the £10 a day target? If I could cash out stuff like 20cogs i'd be on track, but as it stands I have a whole £3 in my possession from Streetbees so far. I don't anticipate I'll have much of what i've 'earned' so far in hand by the end of the month.

The overview:

Isoftstone: $40
Gener8: 27 tokens
Chip: £10
Streetbees: £4
Swagbucks: 290SB (I'm deleting this app, it's a waste of time for me)
Qmee: £0.62
Prolific: £3.12
20cogs: £59.27

I've applied for lots on Respondent but I haven't heard back. I don't seem to qualify for anything on Angelfish. I'm chomping at the bit to get back into Matched Betting, but i'm going to be sensible and wait until i've earned the float before I do.

themoneyshed · 07/01/2020 23:43

@CallofDoodee

Honesty, respondent is 100% legit. Don’t worry about the fact they pay you are in dollars. They are US based but I’ve done studies for people all over the globe so the money is there :)

The questions about work are just for demographic reasons. In terms of the work email address I’m self employed full time so just put my domain email address in and it took it fine if that’s an option.

Whoop, just did my first proper hour of Crisp (phase 1) and I earned £12. I desperately need to supplement my income right now, think I may be addicted to Crisp (luckily these crisps won't make me fat(ter), just fatten my purse Grin).

For all those who have applied to Crisp and are on the waiting list, my access came through after about 6 months though I think it may be location related from previous posts.

madasaboxofcats · 08/01/2020 02:31

Sorry, should have read 2 hours. I'm not that fast Grin

Lougle · 08/01/2020 07:23

Respondent has a £10 speak aloud survey of anyone is interested Millennials with college degrees study

Wolfff · 08/01/2020 08:05

@patapouf

I'm earning £10 a day on my Appen project but conscious that will end in July (when I've been in it a year) or any time come to that.

I have just started Crisp but I'm still not confident about it. I have more or less quit the other stuff as I also work FT and don't really have time to do them.

Need to put some money aside for my tax bill. I spent it all at Xmas. I want to get my return in and pay the tax in May when I get my p60 from my main job.

ZetaPuppis · 08/01/2020 08:10

@madasaboxofcats well done! I’m going to aim for a solid 1.5 hrs today and see how I get on.
Did you do monitoring or mod2? I think I prefer monitoring at the moment.
I’ve earned about £2 so far this year but I’m looking at it monthly. I should have over £310 by the end of the month if all my work go as planned.
Fingers crossed.

Lougle · 08/01/2020 08:31

With Appen, do you use sentence case and punctuation? I failed Forrester screening, but I know all my spellings were correct, so I wonder if using capital letters, full stops, comma, etc., was the problem?

justtheonethen · 08/01/2020 08:46

@Lougle depends on the job- what did it say in the guidelines?

EnormousBlisterPack · 08/01/2020 08:47

Hi another newbie.
I think I'm only up for surveys atm as I have chronic health issues that cause cognitive/focus issues so am worried some of the sites will stress me out,

Pafapouf thanks for the Streetbees link I've just downloaded. It hasn't asked for a referral code so not sure where I need to enter that. Will have a proper look at it later.

madasaboxofcats · 08/01/2020 09:02

@ZetaPuppis I do monitoring as only on Phase 1 right now. Still unsure how the whole mod/monitoring/shift stuff works but cracking on regardless. How long have you been doing it?

lilmishap · 08/01/2020 09:07

How quickly do Appen sort out discrepancies on invoices? It's a biggie

EnormousBlisterPack · 08/01/2020 09:24

Can anyone recommend more survey sites/apps. Just signed up to Streetbees.

Also interested in moderating. Thanks

A new one for you all today if you've ever fancied giving 'Traditional' Mystery Shopping a go and want to boost you 2020 income!

What's involved, what skills do you need, which companies offer the work, IS IT ALL JUST BASICALLY FREE FOOD?!?!? ;)

blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/how-to-become-a-mystery-shopper/

themoneyshed · 08/01/2020 10:10

@EnormousBlisterPack

There are LOADS out there but it depends if you want the more non-commital 'surveys for pennies' type stuff or the more involved higher paying work

If it's the latter then use apps like BeMyEye, Roamler, Field Agent, StreetSpotr etc which generally all pay around £3-£5 per task which more often than not involves going into a store, taking a photo of a display and answering a handful of questions on your phone. There's no limit to how much work you can do with these companies so they can be a great earner!

Lougle · 08/01/2020 10:27

@justtheonethen I hadn't seen the hyperlink to the guidelines, but checking back I found it. I had used sentence case and capitals, commas, etc., which must have been what failed it. I've just redone it and passed it. Thanks for that!

Catatemyhomework · 08/01/2020 10:36

I had the same problem with that test @Lougle. Failed it twice though as even after I studied the guidelines, I thought I was supposed to start sentences with a capital letter. I'm a bit of a spelling and grammar pedant and probably over thought it. I don't think the guidelines were particularly clear though. That said, I've have projects on Appen where I have qualified but have still heard nothing at all from them. I have kind of given up hope with Appen.
