New Thread 🎄🎅

OP posts:
BlackCatFan · 22/12/2019 11:38

Was mentioned toward the end of the last thread about transcription work - Take Note typing seem quite good, there is a test to do before you're accepted. I found it difficult but might give it another go.

I failed the Rev test, but might try the captioner test.

Merry Christmas to all £10 a day-ers. 🎁

@BlackCatFan, thank you for the new thread. Wondered if anyone has an email from Neevo about transcription work?

Frenchdoors1 · 22/12/2019 12:55

@BlackCatFan
Thank you for the new thread
You're a star!
I haven't had that email. @Catatemyhomework

AliciaWhiskers · 22/12/2019 13:41

Place marking.

@Catatemyhomework yes I got that email. My OH had a go at it this morning and spent a good 20 mins on it before giving up. Not sure it's worth the money. I haven't tried yet.

Catatemyhomework · 22/12/2019 14:02

@AliciaWhiskers, same here been doing it with Dh. It takes ages and it's difficult and it times out so we haven't submitted one yet!

seizethecuttlefish · 22/12/2019 14:13

I did the Neevo test and passed it but haven't had anything through. Neevo is a bit hit and miss with me. I'm on the way to hitting my target this month. It's brilliant.

StudentHelp · 22/12/2019 17:26

I’ve not had an email from neevo which is a shame

Bemystarlord · 22/12/2019 17:27

Just checking in, going to take a few days off over christmas and then back on it with a vengeance. Hope you all have s wonderful Christmas.

Misskitty86 · 22/12/2019 20:08

just wondering how some of you guys got work for Australian stuff on Neevo? did you put down that you are native in Australian English as well as British? thank you!

Whatsmyname2019 · 22/12/2019 22:14

Placemaking thank you @BlackCatFan

anxiouswaiting · 22/12/2019 22:25

Silly me, I kept refreshing the old thread and thinking you were all a quiet bunch today, not till I tried to post I realise its full and came in search of a new one 😂

Anyonw doing the Neevo task where you have to do the blocks of speech waves? I thought $3 per task was good but it is so time consuming and really difficult! I just got half way through one and it all froze, I's spwnt 15 min on it already Angry

Catatemyhomework · 22/12/2019 22:51

@anxiouswaiting, they are quite tricky. I've done a few today but not many. I prefer them to the other transcription ones which are $5 a task. However, it took me 2 hours to complete one and when I had finally finished all the transcription, it timed out on me so that was that. That was when I decided to do the $3 ones instead. They are slightly better value for money I think!

Thanks for the new thread.

To all those new on c risp - I’m worried because I seem to have had hardly any risky ones. Just want to see if that’s others experience.

Wolfff · 23/12/2019 07:52

I'm going to give up on Crisp. I just don't understand what I'm supposed to be looking for.

Frenchdoors1 · 23/12/2019 07:55

@Wolfff
Oh nooooo! I'm sure someone will come along and help.

Wolfff · 23/12/2019 08:12

Thanks French Doors. I just don’t have time. I work full time. Had to organise stuff for Xmas etc. Travelled 8 hours yesterday. Only spent about an hour on it this week. I already spend an hour a day on my Appen job. I just don’t have time to read through all the instructions again and find all the different logins baffling.

ZetaPuppis · 23/12/2019 08:18

To be honest, Wolff, I feel pretty similar, and that’s without the full time job!
It’s a busy time to start trying to learn something new.
I’m going to try to spend a couple of hours on it today but I’m very slow and have done hardly any over the past 3 days. I really don’t know how I’m doing.

Frenchdoors1 · 23/12/2019 08:20

Well, if you already are very busy then it would be an extra hassle etc.
I'm not doing it but should I get offered it I imagine i would be baffled with it all too.

anxiouswaiting · 23/12/2019 08:25

@wolfff I find moderation really tricky on Crisp and never do it, I'd have to read the training again to be able to do that which I keep saying I will do but never have time!

Monitoring is really very straight forward though. I think I saw somewhere you only have to work once a month to remain with Crisp so may be worth keeping onboard in case Appen stops? I have a long term Appen but I am concious that Appen projects can come and go with the drop of a hat

Wolfff · 23/12/2019 08:30

Thanks. I’m still in the initial stage but i think I am doing everything wrong. I am in the middle of nowhere this week with a rubbish internet connection. I will have a go this morning before the Xmas shopping arrives. At elderly Mums house and organising Xmas for 7.

BlackCatFan · 23/12/2019 09:36

@Wolfff why don't you come back to it after Christmas with fresh eyes? I agree mod2 is more tricky than monitoring.. Monitoring is super easy.

It must be difficult with a full time job as well but in November I earned just under £400 doing around 2 hours per day, monday-Friday.

OP posts:
ZetaPuppis · 23/12/2019 09:48

I’m in the monitoring phase as just having started and finding it tricky Blush

Catatemyhomework · 23/12/2019 09:53

@wolfff, don't give up Crisp. I'm sure you'll become more confident over time and it's good to have it as it sounds like long term work that doesn't just disappear. I'm sure it will get easier with time. I am very slow when I start something new and often think I'm doing it wrong. It just takes time to get used to it.
Just in case I don't get back on here before Christmas, I'd like to wish you all a lovely Christmas and thank you all so much for this thread and your support. I've learned so much in less than a month. You are all awesome! Xmas Smile

AdaShelby · 23/12/2019 10:07

I don't agree that monitoring on crisp is super easy, some of them are really tricky.

I like Moderation better but even then I'm a bit of a slow worker.

I've applied to Appen and hope I'll find that easier.
