Let's top up our bank balances for Christmas! It's the October earn £10 a day thread

Otterses · 01/10/2019 06:57

Saw a few newcomers place marking on the previous thread, so a big welcome to them Smile

Christmas is just around the corner, and I'm sure we all could do with the extra earnings to pay for Christmas and keep us out of the January slump.

I'll copy and paste the first post of the previous thread as soon as I'm at a computer.

Has anyone got any targets in mind? I'm aiming for £20 a day, then hopefully £200 or so of 'extras'.

I've just applied for that too :-)

justtheonethen · 20/10/2019 20:44

Not keen on uolo - wants to know far too much about you Grin

rhij86 · 20/10/2019 20:49

@justtheonethen true didn't think about that! Ah well applied now 🤷‍♀️😂

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 20/10/2019 20:53

I have no secrets! If I get to stay at home with my kids I'll tell them anything lol!

I got onto uolo!
Providing that and inari-uc actaully start I'll have to scale back everything else as that's approx 35hrs a week required!

Oh bugger haha

SNISR · 21/10/2019 07:21

What test did you all do for uolo? Is it easy?

rhij86 · 21/10/2019 07:28

@SNISR it was pretty straightforward, you read the guidelines and then it's just answering questions on what you will be expected to do eg review this news article, is it xyz?
31 questions, need 80% to pass

SNISR · 21/10/2019 07:30

@rhij86 have you done the uolo test? How did you find it?

SNISR · 21/10/2019 07:31

Aaah thank you @rhij86

After how long of applying did you get the test through. I've just applied.

Otterses · 21/10/2019 07:33

Ohhhhhh @rhij86

I'm in the same boat now. If I also get Uolo after Peppermint starts I'll be on 35 a week ... I think I'll be asking to drop a day at work!

@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock is it purchasing dildos Grin ? The secretiveness of Amur always puts me off. And can you return products of unwanted and retain reimbursement? And am I right in reading it's £5 per purchase + reimbursement of the product?

Sorry if you can't answer any of these! I'm just very nosey.

@Otterses fingers crossed! Not sure how I will fit it all in, will have to see! Would def consider dropping a day in work if it's long term and at the very least we'll be ok for DH to drop a day for his uni studies once he finishes his portion of parental leave! If I could somehow juggle it with work it would literally change everything, the extra income even for 6months would totally change our circumstances RE debts and savings.

@SNISR I applied 7.30 yesterday morning. Had confirmation I was through to the 'test round' about 12.30am today. Did the test when I woke up at 3am and it put me through to the project and sent an email confirming I was on as soon as I hit submit on the last question.

SNISR · 21/10/2019 07:48

@rhij86 Wow that was quick! Thank you 😊
Fingers crosses I hear back too.

rhij86 · 21/10/2019 08:01

@SNISR fingers crossed :)

MrsWombat · 21/10/2019 09:30

I've just applied for Uolo. Fingers crossed. If I get this one though I'll have to start paying tax, as it will take it over the threshold. Shock I'll also have to figure out where to fit it all in. Grin

I've not had much luck with the Appen projects lately. I'm meant to be on Niffenwaffle and Bane but not heard much from them!

Moremoneyplease · 21/10/2019 09:37

@rhij86 I'm just about to apply for Uolo but I can't see the guidelines - do you get these after you've applied? (I'm at work so don't want to apply and then have to take the test immediately when I'm supposed to be working...)

Moremoneyplease · 21/10/2019 09:38

@MrsWombat I'm the same, did ten tasks for Bane and that's it!

rhij86 · 21/10/2019 09:45

@MoreMoneyPlease yes once I had got through to the testing stage, there was a link to the guidelines at the top of the page and the test immediately below it.

I only managed 3 tasks on Bane before they ran out!

Good luck to everyone who has applied for Uolo.

I will need to sit down this week and sort out self employment stuff. Does anyone know of any good guides or websites that will talk me through in simple terms what I need to do to get set up, to make sure I do it right?? TIA :)

Wolfff · 21/10/2019 11:14

Re tax, hmrc website on gov.uk. Look for self employment pages. It's very easy.

rhij86 · 21/10/2019 11:26

@Wolfff will do thanks. Do you use any apps or anything to keep track of things like invoices/earnings/tax/NI?
Love a good app me Grin

Wolfff · 21/10/2019 11:30

No I just a spreadsheet and keep a copy or screenshots of invoices/payments etc. We are in the 19/20 tax year so return not due until 31 Jan 2021. It’s easy to lose track.

I will submit it as soon as I get my p60 from my main job probably next May.

Starlight2004 · 21/10/2019 12:36

@rhij86 are you in the US? I noticed on the Uolo it said something about lots of opportunities for US raters. I'm in the U.K. so I'm not sure if they will want me. But I have applied anyway. I'm waiting for the on boarding for inari. Does anyone know how long that might take?

dreamyflower · 21/10/2019 12:41

I am loving this thread. 😊 It's been a week since I decided to do this and I have made £12 from surveys. I was looking at Appen and am wondering where do I start? When applying for roles do I click on raters? I clicked one role and now whenever I log in, it states thank you for your interest, however only those under consideration will be contacted. I can't view any other jobs or do anything except for delete my account.

rhij86 · 21/10/2019 12:42

@Starlight2004 nope I'm UK as well :)
I got accepted onto Inari-UC last week, it said I needed to wait to be given access to the rating tool but that may take a week or two. Not heard anything more yet.

Good luck with Uolo!

Moremoneyplease · 21/10/2019 13:02

Thanks for the info @rhij86 One more question - can Appen actually see all your FB posts and who your are friends etc?
