Let's top up our bank balances for Christmas! It's the October earn £10 a day thread

Saw a few newcomers place marking on the previous thread, so a big welcome to them Smile

Christmas is just around the corner, and I'm sure we all could do with the extra earnings to pay for Christmas and keep us out of the January slump.

I'll copy and paste the first post of the previous thread as soon as I'm at a computer.

Has anyone got any targets in mind? I'm aiming for £20 a day, then hopefully £200 or so of 'extras'.

@ChubRubTub don't worry, I think everyone felt like that! It's really clear when you get going. It's half an hour and you have to do 60 so keep a tally- you will easily do 60.
Noise is just no risk.
I think there is leeway for the accuracy to begin with. Read up on never ever events though when you get started. You will be fine, good luck.

justtheonethen · 20/10/2019 08:04

And I don't think anyone here has been kicked off, although I could be wrong. I'm sure people have in general but you won't!

ChubRubTub · 20/10/2019 08:08

Thanks @justtheonethen. I really hope it all becomes clear!

I didn't get 100 per cent in all my Versal courses, so I'm not sure how accurate I'll be.

justtheonethen · 20/10/2019 08:11

@ChubRubTub that's what the training is for though, and even if you make a few mistakes on the test they will just tell you to read up on them. Honestly don't worry, you will be totally fine.

obviouslymarvellous · 20/10/2019 08:42

Morning all did someone say there was an appen global where there were smaller jobs etc or has that gone now? I've done all I can - got 20/20 on crisp but heard nothing 😔 I'm on respondent/intellizoom/prolific/Appen/ and am looking at isosoft. The qmee surveys bored me stupid - too long winded for too little £ and clickworker is also very hit and miss. I am just sorting out paperwork for Cloudworkers but am a bit 😏 at the thought of doing that - is it ok or quite grim? X

DianaT1969 · 20/10/2019 08:55

@aliciawhiskers I'm new to this thread but perhaps they want a UTR, unique tax reference, 10 digits, which you get by calling HMRC, or it is on your government gateway if you have previously done a self-employed tax return.

Elmosonfire · 20/10/2019 09:01

@ChubRubTub good luck with the test, you will be fine. Make sure you keep to hand the slides with the definition of all the categories and then you can refer back to them if you are unsure. It is pretty straightforward if you stick to those.
@Buster27 sounds like you and I are at about the same stage with it. Think it’s going to be something to just keep plugging at and hopefully get faster! I am still inspired by @justtheonethen and her fantastic success with it!

justtheonethen · 20/10/2019 09:13

@Elmosonfire I'm still fairly shocked at it myself Grin. Honestly though I think it's just a case of lots of practice and eventually you just know it inside out and get quick.

Elmosonfire · 20/10/2019 09:21

@justtheonethen Grin I am so impressed! Now you know you have unwittingly inspired loads of us to follow your lead! At this rate though, I will be lucky to earn a tenner a month let alone a day Grin

justtheonethen · 20/10/2019 09:23

@Elmosonfire 🤣. Keep positive, you will be raking it in soon. I don't know which queue you work on but I actually found mod2 more straightforward to start with. I find monitoring quicker now but still requires more brain power.

curragh1 · 20/10/2019 10:51

Can anyone see any jobs on click worker?

AliciaWhiskers · 20/10/2019 11:28

Can anyone see any jobs on click worker?

Nope....

Moremoneyplease · 20/10/2019 12:13

I can still see the clickworker robot job but just can't get it to work. I give up!

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 20/10/2019 12:53

same here @Moremoneyplease

obviouslymarvellous · 20/10/2019 12:55

Me too on clickworker x the robot job is the most frustrating thing ever as I've posted previously x

seizethecuttlefish · 20/10/2019 18:34

The robot job isn't working for me either. I've messaged support but they're never that quick.

seizethecuttlefish · 20/10/2019 18:52

Has anyone done the Amur project on Appen? Wondering about spending 500!

Frenchdoors1 · 20/10/2019 19:20

I was just looking at that myself seizethecuttlefish and wondering the same....

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 20/10/2019 19:23

I've done Amur twice and signed up for a 3rd, it's fab. I've never spent more than £200 though as sometimes there aren't many options.

I've had some good stuff but equally a lot of dross from China! Definitely worth doing if you can afford to though.

seizethecuttlefish · 20/10/2019 20:06

Thanks @SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock I've done the qualifying bit. Just waiting...here's hoping.

Moremoneyplease · 20/10/2019 20:18

@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock What's Amur? Do you have to pay to take part??

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 20/10/2019 20:21

@Moremoneyplease I can't say much but it is basically mystery shopping so you have to pay upfront for the goods but you get reimbursed later.

rhij86 · 20/10/2019 20:31

Appen question, if you're going to be accepted onto a project does it usually happen immediately (eg your suitability is determined by a computer automatically) or does it sometimes happen a few days/weeks after you apply (,ie your application is actually checked by a person)?
Ta :)

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 20/10/2019 20:33

@rhij86 sometimes instantly but usually months or never lol!

rhij86 · 20/10/2019 20:39

@spockpaperscissorslizardrock
Haha thanks! Was wondering if I don't get the email immediately should I just give up hope! Have applied for uolo too, would be a great earner if I got onto it.
Holding back on setting up my training for cloudworkers in the hopes I get something good with appen. Although I am nust waiting to be set up on the rating tool for inari-uc!
