Horses?

I’d just take it now & treat it as a learning experience. It’s still free cash.

Coffeeandchocolate9 · 03/10/2019 06:25

@MatchyMatch it's complicated to understand but it's bevause you are taking value from themthat they lose not make money when people matched bet.

You know how the odds in the bookie are always a bit lower than in the exchange? Well the bookie lays off your bet too. The difference in odds is how they make their money. Matched bettors take close matches, and that combined with only taking offers means they lose money with you as a customer.

JennyWreny · 03/10/2019 07:34

Hi I'm very new to MB (day 3!). Bit of a mistake yesterday where I realised once a match was in play that I had obviously changed my mind about one of my free bets and had put lay bet on the wrong match, so bit of a panic to set up another lay and another back to match the ones I already had. Seemed to work out OK - phew.

I wondered if I could ask how you keep a track of anything. Is there a good spreadsheet layout or would you recommend any of the paid for websites?

waspfig · 03/10/2019 09:45

I'm cashing in on my bet365 free bets today. Wasn't brave enough to do the whole £100 in one go so did 2 x £30 and a £40 bet. Should be making £75 if my calculations are right as have 0% commission with smarkets.

@JennyWreny I signed up for 10 day trial with oddsmonkey for £1 and use their profit tracker spreadsheet. I also made a simple spreadsheet myself to track how much money I'm depositing and where. Otherwise I'll forget where to check back for my profits!

Coffeeandchocolate9 · 03/10/2019 10:01

@JennyWreny you're going to want oddsmonkey (or profit accumulator) soon. £17.99 a month pays for itself with the difference that 0% smarkets commission (which you get with the OM subscription) and the oddsmatcher tool alone, but there are loads of other useful stuff there.

I'm assuming that you're already following team profit newbies group on Facebook and their website guides Smile

JennyWreny · 03/10/2019 10:11

Thanks so much wasp and coffee I've just signed up for the 10 day trial for £1. I found Team Profit website last night so I've been reading that too. I'll look for the newbies group on Facebook :)

I've placed £65 in free bets today from the ones I got yesterday after the qualifying ones from the day before. I've just realised that I haven't placed any qualifying ones today so presumably will have to do that tomorrow now (no more money left in exchange!!!)

Thanks again!!!

CuteOrangeElephant · 03/10/2019 17:15

I got 25 free spins on Betfair. What do I do there? Just use them?

JennyWreny · 03/10/2019 17:28

I'm glad you asked that cute because I have that as well!

CuteOrangeElephant · 03/10/2019 22:29

I ended up winning 13 pounds with 55 free spins total from Betfair. Really not too shabby!

Just be very careful to check you are using the free spins.

waspfig · 04/10/2019 07:44

@CuteOrangeElephant that's a great return from betfair! I've only won £1.30 from 30 free spins on betfredSmile

Tried to sign up to a bookies yesterday and got asked to provide documents to verify who I am. Have any of you done this? Or should I just leave that one?

CuteOrangeElephant · 04/10/2019 09:38

I just received my money back from Coral and got my free bets from Betfred. Looks like I will be making some profit tonight Smile

TeslaGirls · 04/10/2019 09:38

I've got the betfair 30 free spins as well, and a £5 bonus to be used on any daily jackpot game. That one says it needs to be wagered x 1, please can someone explain what that means - very simply Blush

CuteOrangeElephant · 04/10/2019 21:19

I've managed to mess up again Grin.
So I accidentally set a deposit limit with Betfair of 100 pounds a month, not realising that I would have to put more money in at a later point.

I then made a bet on Betfred on a racehorse with the maximum I could afford as liability on Betfair... only to find out I didn't use my free bets! If this horse wins tomorrow I will have no money in my Betfair account and no way of adding it. Plus this has eaten 50p into my profit!

At least the slight uptick is that my behaviour pattern is not that of a matched better!!

Coffeeandchocolate9 · 04/10/2019 23:46

Ok @CuteOrangeElephant so open a smarkets account cough referral code cough and lay the bet there instead Smile

Coffeeandchocolate9 · 04/10/2019 23:48

Oh ignore me I thought you hadn't managed to lay Blush

TeslaGirls · 06/10/2019 14:00

Oh Cute I hope you manage to get it sorted!

I think I've had success on betfair - I had a free £5 bonus fir the arcade, and despite not having a clue re wagering, I think I'm £8 up?! That £8 has moved from my bonus funds to my main account, so I'm £8 up than I was an hour ago. I think I must have wagered x 1 as per the requirements, but to be honest I was just continuing spinning while my free bonus balance was going down and my regular balance was staying the same. It's very confusing Blush

itsabongthing · 06/10/2019 15:34

Hi guys - I’m returning to MB hoping to make some cash leading up to xmas.
I’ve exhausted most of the opening offers unfortunately thought there seem a few new £10 ones I can do.

Now the footie season is up and running I see WH is still doing their golden goal but can’t see mention of b365 2up? Is that not running now?

I did quite well out of golden goal last year (cashing in method) but now my winnings are capped at £25 rather than the £50 I think it was last season so that’s a bit of a pain.

Any other tips on what are the best reload offers around at the moment?

Symptomless · 06/10/2019 15:41

I've never done casino offers yet, but I've got 2x £5 bonuses on betfair. Tried to understand the t&c's but not sure I understand them...

itsabongthing · 06/10/2019 15:49

The best thing with those if you’re not sure is to withdraw your balance first so you can only play with the bonus funds and not eat into your own.
What you’d want to look for is whether there are any ‘wagering requirements’ or if winnings are payed as cash. The latter is the best. The former just means if you win £10 using your free play/bonus then you might have to play through that £10 a number of times before you’re allowed to withdraw it which it my case normally seems to mean that it’s all gone before I reach the wagering requirement ie. you bust out. But still worth a shot.

itsabongthing · 06/10/2019 15:50

I did very well on the bonus betfair casino stuff early on, and was just lucky. Sadly that meant a gubbing very quickly! (Still fine for the exchange though)

Symptomless · 06/10/2019 15:54

Ok, so the £5 offer has 1x wagering requirement, so I need to spend £5 of my own money before I can withdraw any winnings?

TeslaGirls · 06/10/2019 16:27

Symptomless that's what I thought, but I'm not sure that's what happened - I played with my bonus and any winnings were added to the bonus total, meaning I played a fair few games Grin I then checked my account on betfair (not that I could make sense of it...) and it said I had wagered 0.6 of the £5 (this is without spending any of my actual money) and I had £3.10 left to wager. So I did 31 x 10p bets then all of a sudden my actual balance increased by the amount that was in my bonus balance. I bet that is as clear as mud, sorry Grin

itsabongthing · 06/10/2019 16:32

No you don’t necessarily have to wager your own money, you have to wager what you won.
So if using the £5 bonus you won £3, you have to play through £3 before you can withdraw it. That’s why it’s best to clear your own money first so you know you’re playing with your bonus winnings. And keep a record of what you’ve wagered.

Symptomless · 06/10/2019 16:36

Tesla that's what happened to me as well. I made sure to just use the £5 bonus and when it finished, my winnings were added to my main balance.

HabbyHadno · 08/10/2019 00:31

Hi everyone. I'm a total newbie at matched betting. Placed my qualifying bid tonight and am waiting until tomorrow to place my free bets (as the odds on the odds matcher were a bit crap tonight) good to know I've got some seasoned betters on here for advice. Smile
