you can get a free month of premium membership at Yesbets.

I've used them for many years and find them the easiest of services to use.

Just enter FREE on the join page and you'll get your first month free, which is good for rattling through the sign up offers. Hope it helps.

HabbyHadno · 08/10/2019 11:24

First bet placed. Hopefully I did it right.

watermelongin · 12/10/2019 20:35

I do feel that the profit comes on much slower after a month when I was done with most sign up offers. Weekly bet clubs are great but they only bring less than £40 income every week :/

HabbyHadno · 12/10/2019 21:02

I'm on my second lot of free bets and I really don't think I've made much profit from the first one, if at all. By the time I'd laid out the lay bet and then stumped up a tenner for my second lot of free bets I'm pretty sure I'm not in profit, unless I'm doing it wrong.

watermelongin · 12/10/2019 22:01

Do you use calculators (e.g. oddsmonkey) to lay your free bet (stake no return mode)? I usually keep the qualifying loss within 10% of my stake, and make at least 75% from the free bet.

HabbyHadno · 12/10/2019 22:04

Yes I've followed the Profit Accumulator videos to the letter. I just don't seem to make much, maybe it's the odds I'm choosing as I don't want to be spending loads on the liability part.

Twirlypoos · 12/10/2019 22:11

What odds are you choosing? You need odds of at least 5 and probably more to make a decent profit otherwise it’s not worth doing. With close odds of around 2 you’d make 5 from a 10 free bet but with odds of 7 you’d make 8

HabbyHadno · 13/10/2019 11:20

Ahh ok, I think I'm playing it way too safe. My £30 free Betfred bet today are odds of 4.0 and 4.3 - argh! I think I'll make £20 from it so not too bad I guess. I'll up the stakes next time. Thanks for helping me out.

HabbyHadno · 13/10/2019 11:24

Sometimes the bet choices in the odds matcher are really dire though Confused

itsabongthing · 15/10/2019 15:50

On the oddsmatcher you can change the settings to show the SNR% column and then order the results by that. If there’s nothing 75% plus then I normally wait a few days unless there’s a short expiry. And I think as you get more confident you worry less about having larger sums tied up at the exchange (provided you’ve got the cash to play with of course)

CuteOrangeElephant · 15/10/2019 21:46

I managed to cock up again Grin.

I did the free Fansbet get 10 pounds bet. I noticed that there was an option for a 50 pounds casino bonus plus 50 free spins on another game when depositing another 10 quid.

Basically it's been an expensive lesson on why casino is a bad idea! I am not sure what is happening but either I am coming up neutral or at a loss of ten pounds.

Willweeverfindout · 22/10/2019 08:30

Hello seasoned pros! I was wondering if I might ask a question... I’m very new to this - just working it all out before placing any bets, or indeed opening an account at an exchange. I was wondering which exchange you would recommend? As I understand it you need to have as much money as possible in one exchange rather than splitting it up between three accounts. Is that right? TIA

TeslaGirls · 22/10/2019 12:43

Will I’m far from a seasoned pro but my experience is that it’s definitely better to keep a higher balance in one exchange rather than smaller amounts spread out between different exchanges. As I say though, I’m not an expert or anything Smile

I’m fact, I’m just coming on to say a huge thank you to the proper seasoned pros Grin It’s my pay day tomorrow after a very long month where I had an extra bill of £1100 to find with no notice. Although I didn’t have much spare cash, I had around £200 at the start of the month, and thanks to the £250 I made from matched betting, I can’t believe I’ve just about made it to pay day! I may literally have 37p to my name, but the DDs have been fed, gas and electric paid and petrol in car.

Thank you to everyone who answered all my questions, you literally are lifesavers Flowers

Willweeverfindout · 22/10/2019 19:55

Tesla - thank you very much and congratulations on your profits! I think I’ll go for Smarkets as the commission is lower.

CuteOrangeElephant · 22/10/2019 23:11

I have used Betfair and smarkets and definitely have a lot more in my Betfair account, money tends to naturally accumulate there!

itsabongthing · 23/10/2019 18:42

I tend to use smarkets male, because of the 0% commission when you link your Oddsmonkey account and I’ve just got used to the layout and like the way it does it automatically for you from the Oddsmonkey calculator.
I do occasionally deposit at Betfair or matchbook if there is a big difference in odds though.

MoneyM · 03/11/2019 22:14

Hi everyone. Relatively new to matched betting. About a week in and have made £80! Got about £100 in my Betfair exchange.

Those of you who regularly make £300-400 per month, how much of a bank roll do you need in your exchange? I'm thinking I'll need £500 minimum, right?

Sakura7 · 07/11/2019 23:00

Another newbie, only on my second welcome offer so far, so a long way to go.

Team Profit recommend looking for lay odds within 10% of your back bet but I seem to be struggling to find these. It's ok for the trigger bet but when I look for something to use the free bet on it's more tricky.

Anyone else finding this? I'm hoping to make a bit of money over the next few weeks and then consider a paid site like PA, which I'm presuming does this kind of work for you.

MoneyM · 08/11/2019 07:21

Hi @Sakura7 - finding the best odds is the hardest bit to begin with! I tended to find that big league football was the best (and don't forget to look at the odds for betting/laying a draw). If it's really getting you down then sign up for the £1 Oddsmonkey trial (guide in week 4 or 5 I think). It's easy to use and does the work for you - you filter by bookie, exchange and desired odds and then you can click through to the relevant website straight from there! I got it after 2/3 weeks but would have saved so much time if I did it sooner :)

Sakura7 · 08/11/2019 10:46

Thanks MoneyM, I'll give the free trial a go. I did notice I was finding much better odds for draws, but wasn't sure whether to go with them as all the guides I've seen talk about backing a team to win. So that's a handy tip :)

MoneyM · 08/11/2019 13:13

@Sakura7 Yeah I was a bit wary of draws too! But essentially you are betting FOR a draw and laying AGAINST a draw which is the same as a win or a lose :)

Applelove · 09/11/2019 08:31

I'm fairly new to MB and considering signing up to OddsMonkey as I'm following Team Profit guides. Is it useable on a mobile app or better on a PC?
Another question, how different is Profit Accumulator from Team profit? Is it worth joining both? TIA

DragonMamma · 10/11/2019 19:33

Can somebody explain liabilities to me on the exchange? I started MB today and deposited a fiver with Coral and Betfair.

I’ve placed my qualifying bet and am now looking to use my free bets on something.

I can’t wrap my head around Betfair though, do I need to top my account up more to have enough to cover my liabilities? I’ve only got £3 available as £2 was used to on my QB

So confused!

@DragonMamma When you place a lay bet on an exchange, you are basically being the bookie meaning that, if that bet loses (because the team you have backed at the bookie wins), you have to pay out the liability amount on the exchange - the profit happens on a free bet because what you win at the bookie is more than the liability amount you lose at the exchange.

Yes, you will need to deposit more into the exchange - I would recommend £20 into the exchange and £5 into the bookie to begin with. Pick odds of over 1.5 (check bookie offer t&c's as sometimes it's 2) and under 2.5 to keep your liability low.

Eventually as you build up a bankroll in the exchange, you will be able to place bets with as high odds as you have picked in your screenshot but stick low for now :)

MoneyM · 10/11/2019 21:56

This is how your liability would change with much smaller odds @DragonMamma (I've just used random odds as an example)
