Thought I would start a new thread as the old one is closed! Hello to everyone old and new trying out Matched Betting!

So I'm £850 up now really happy with that. How is everyone else doing?

Quick question - just wondering what you are all doing to try and prevent being gubbed? I don't have much time during the week to do this so I am a bit concerned that a lot of my reload offers have been the only ones I've done. Particularly interested in making sure I can protect my Bet365 account as I did well on 2up's at the weekend. Thank you!

After a good first week on low risk casino, I had a couple of bad days. Made a few mistakes, all the offers seemed to leave me at a loss. Determined to keep at it...

I was wagering through my £20 on Coral for their £5 free bet. Getting fed up as I was almost done and down £17...

Apart from that and the Box Bonanza games I was due, I've had a dire day. Few good offers and the ones there were I lost loads on wagering.
Have qualified for a few free bets and bet clubs though, so some profit to come.

Can you talk me through how to wager? Find it very confusing. I understand the concept but then get mixed up as I’m wagering as you make small wins along the way....

Getting fed up of low risk casino. I’m giving it a go to see how my o really profit goes but it’s just so up and down. I just spent an hour wagering through a £500 if wagering for bonus. Was going well until I had £50 left to wager and I bust out! So annoying so £27 down on that one overall :( how do people not get disheartened? I’m doing loads of offers and my thinking is for the moment I’ll use my sports betting to cancel out any losses in casino for this month. If I’m not up by then end of the month, I’ll stick to sports, much less of an emotional rollercoaster!

Hi Underworld345 I haven't done any yet where I need to wager like that, I've been sticking to ones like Betfair where you play, say, £20 and get £5 free spins. That way my wagering is done first! Pretty much broken even on those. I don't understand how you can "bust out" though, what exactly does that mean?

TK1930 I can't really help you, I think most of the casinos will show you how much wagering you have done on the promotions page, if you click on the promotion that you are doing. I know Betfair and coral do anyway! So I tend to open the game in a new window then go back and refresh every so often.

Not having the best weekend so far most of my exchange is now in a betting account which is really annoying! Apart from that doing ok!

I have been away for a few days so didn’t get any more welcome offers done. Exhausted after a race yesterday so I’m going to relax and sit down now with a coffee and do a couple of bookie sign ups :-)

Hi radioband best thing to do is head to a website like oddsmonkey or profit accumulator or team profit. Read through the guides. You will need to sign up to get past the first couple of offers (I think there is an offer floating around for oddsmonkey at the moment) but like a pp said on the old thread, your first profit covers this for a couple of months. Follow the instructions and you won't go wrong, and ask if there is anything you are unsure of! I've only been doing this 2 months and up £850 but I'm working through them all very slowly. Others are doing better and also there are some brilliant posters on here who have made a lot and are really helpful. Good luck!

@Llioed I would recommend a separate bank account, just because it's easier. I didn't get one until I'd been doing it a while but it made it hard to keep up with transactions, it's much easier with a separate account.

Hey guys, didn't know there was a mb thread on here. Ive been doing it about a year and make around 600 a month. I'm in a group on fb called team profit which is really helpful.

Thank you for the suggestion of a separate account - I will do this. I have got a separate email address and will set up a new PayPal with the new email address and new bank account. Hope that sounds ok?

Mr Makers - I am on that Team Profit FB group too, but I’m finding it a bit overwhelming with all that MB talk. How much time per week do you spend doing MB in order to make £600 per month? I would be happy with £400/500 per month. Do you do just bets (football/horses) or do you do other stuff like casinos?

@Llioed quite a lot of the welcome offers exclude deposits from paypal so much better to use an actual bank card.

I didn't bother setting up a separate bank account because 1) time/effort and 2) it is really easy to filter transactions for credits to reconcile withdrawals. However it is probably a really good idea to do so. Easiest woudl be to open a second current account at your existing bank as then no ID requirements.

Team Profit and Odds Monkey guides are really good. The TP facebook group is good.

I am using the TP spreadsheet but have made some alterations to it. I love spreadsheets so that bit is kinda fun.

I will be up to £300 ish this weekend when my bets settle.

I annoyingly made a couple of mistakes - one of my smarkets team refunds bests was on the bloody cup not premier so didn't get my refund. That was an annoying £5 loss. Also a ladbrooks bet I didn't actually finish clicking through (thought I had) so I had a lay bet (which lost) and the back bet hadn't been placed. That was another £5 down.

Also to start with I wasn't using the oddsmonkey oddsmatcher, now I am using that I am having much less QL and much higher returns on the free bets.

I literally knew nothing about betting so it was all new to me but the guides are super good at explaining it.

Would def recommend paying for Odds monkey membership and using than in tandem with the free Team Profit "staring with £100" (or lower amount) guide.

2 questions:

1. What does QL mean?
2. I looked at an example of placing a freebet of placing a back bet of £20 (freebet) at odds of 6.0 and a laybet at odds of 6.17. This was the example given on a TeamProfit guide video. It said you would win around £14 if back bet won, but liability (in exchange) was around £90. Does that mean if back bet won, I would win £14 but lose £90 in the exchange??

Maybe I am missing something? sorry for the questions.

2. have started to try being more organised and accurately track profit... using the profit accumulator "profit" section at the moment, but have trawled through my accounts and transaction histories, inputting each win and loss... is there a better way to do it?

@llioed I use the team profit spreadsheet to track my winnings plus what I’ve got going on at any particular time.

Also the betfred offer, if you’re looking at casino, always check the t&cs. A lot of them lock your own deposit money into the bonus and your can’t withdraw without losing bonus or own funds are used first. The one you mention looks higher risk. I would start with low risk where you wager x amount (£10-20 and get free spins with no wagering requirements.

@Llioed QL means qualifying loss. How much you lose on the qualifying bet you place in order to get a free bet. Aim for less than 5% of your stake, so 50p on a £10 bet.
As for the other question, your liability is what leaves the exchange if your bookie bet wins. With those odds you'd get £100 back at the bookie (stake not returned on a free bet) so although you're losing £90 at the exchange you're still £10 up.

I've mostly been doing casino offers this week, done a couple of price boosts today but only a few quid profit from those. Should have a free bet or two on its way and need to place bets for the weekly bet clubs. Mustn't neglect the guaranteed profit stuff, even though low risk casino is rather addictive!
