Just came across a good few MNers talking about it on another thread. I don't even know what it is but from the jist of the convo, there's good money to be made from having a couple of hours a day to do it... I have those hours!!
Can anyone enlighten me please?

Ok, when I try to Oddsmatch (Oddsmonkey) on William Hill v Betfair, I get no returns (searching with very unrestricted criteria, so that's not the problem).

Given that I find it hard to believe that there are no available bets, am I right in assuming that this lack of result is because I'm not a paid subscriber?

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/04/2017 19:15

Thank you Baby 🙂

Spookle · 12/04/2017 19:17

Thank you so much for all the info on this thread. I've been slowly reading here and watching the PA vids again and again since Saturday and my first bets are to come in today. I've also just joined Betfred anda managed my qualifying bet without looking at my notes!

Oh, I did bet on the Dort V Mon match that was cancelled yesterday. Coral have given me my £5 stake back but Betfair seems to be in limbo - what happens with that now?

Venetian My heart was in my mouth for you! So glad the horse came 2nd. As Maid said shake off that feeling. Although I think I'm going to be just as excited when my £17 ish profit comes back to me on the Atletico V Leicester match tonight Grin

If I can make about £30 a day 7 days a week I can give up my only 25 hours but very stressful job that is pushing me towards a breakdown. I'm lucky in that I have a couple of months living expenses saved up (I'm very frugal and there's only me to take care of) and if I can reach my goal over the next couple of months I'm handing my notice in and having a few months break before I look for another job.

Good luck everyone. Check everything again and again!

I also plan to give a small percentage of my profit to Women's Aid each month in thanks for the help given here Flowers

MissFitton · 12/04/2017 19:21

Good luck Spookle - that's a good plan to have!

I'm also trying not to get excited ahead of myself and think how even a modest amount from this could change my life. I'm lucky that my situation gives me quite a lot of spare time so, theoretically, I could make a killing at this.

As I say, trying not to get too carried away with my plans..... Grin

grafittiartist · 12/04/2017 19:29

Thank you for all this- need to get my head round it and dare myself to have a go.

CalmItKermitt · 12/04/2017 19:43

So you know the tutorials that walked us through sign up, qualifiers and our first free bets..... are there similarly easy to follow tutorials for the stuff you do once you've used all your joining bets?

The stuff you have to rely on after the first month or so looks complicated 😳

Although I said that about the things that seem fairly simple now 😏

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 19:53

Reload bets can be easy too. Bet £10 in football, get £10 free etc

IsletsOfLangerhans · 12/04/2017 19:59

Evening. I've been doing this for over a year now and it's a shockingly easy way to make money once you get your head round it. I see lots of people have been suggesting Profit Accumulator but please have a look at Profit Squad as an alternative. I did a lot of the sign up offers on my own but joined them to learn about more advanced methods. They have an excellent calendar of daily offers, training videos, oddsmatcher and a very active, helpful forum. Think it's cheaper too! The help is excellent.

Good luck to those getting started - it does get a lot, lot easier....

Spookle · 12/04/2017 20:02

ItsAllGoingToBeFine

I've also made a rule for myself to only stick to one sport - football - and obvious bets

I was going to do that with possibly the addition of high profile non football events eg Tour de France, Wimbledon etc as I guess the average punter might get sucked into these because they are so promoted in the media (and on betting sites)

Does that sound reasonable?

Yes. I think that's a good plan. I'm going to stick to the big league football matches with a bit of horse racing thrown in. I'm horsey anyway and already follow certain trainers and horses so can't resist. I think your idea of then going for the big popular events is also a good one. Hopefully by the time they start I will be proficient and have enough of a liability fund in Betfair to be able to go a bit higher.

A particular thank you to <strong>Maid</strong>. I've copied a lot of your posts into a document to use as a reference guide if I need to <img loading="lazy" class="inline-flex mumsnet-emoji" alt="Grin" src="https://www.mumsnet.com/build/assets/grin-D7Eg_B6y.png"> <img loading="lazy" class="inline-flex mumsnet-emoji" alt="Flowers" src="https://www.mumsnet.com/build/assets/flowers-Cn99NuJ3.png">

A thought on the horse thing earlier.

Vertical accidentally specified a far too high lay stake. I reckon if she'd gone back to the Oddsmonkey calculator and keyed the odds details in, then the lay stake she actually placed, it would have returned a value for the back stake she should have placed? Then she could have returned to the bookie and made another bet of the same result, with an amount that adjusted her back total to the right amount?

Spookle · 12/04/2017 20:39

Oh ^Maid* I think I understand your post and yes, that seems the logical thing to do! Another gem for MB file.

GrimDamnFanjo · 12/04/2017 20:43

Waiting for two more qualifying bets to come in...

Could we get this thread moved somewhere like Money Matters so we don't lose the info?

Whisky2014 · 12/04/2017 20:43

I just did the sky bet free £10 one. Will see that tomorrow.

Tonight I will see my first ever match between come in.

On the odds matcher..if the back odds are higher than the lay odds what does that mean? And if the back odds are lower than the lay odds what does that mean?

Pissedoffinsomniac · 12/04/2017 20:48

Placemarking as have been considering this for a while but also have a Velcro baby/get distracted... this looks like a lovely and supportive thread so will have a read and pop back later to say hello properly Smile

smileygrapefruit · 12/04/2017 20:53

Yes, Maid, you can only use PA's oddsmatching for coral and betfred unless you have paid. Although sounds like there may be some free ones available?!

All my bets have now settled, I'm £92.17 in profit after 3 days! However, I've just tried to join a couple more and I'm not able to make any deposits. Will have to speak to my bank tomorrow as they obviously think something dodgy is going on!

Spookle · 12/04/2017 21:00

Wow Smiley that's amazing, well done. Hope the bank sorts easily.

smileygrapefruit · 12/04/2017 21:05

That's from £120 of free bets so approx 77%. PA says aim for 75-80% so it's realistic.

MissFitton · 12/04/2017 21:17

Wow Smiley that's brilliant, well done!

I've done that stupid thing of betting on games which aren't happening until the weekend so that's going to slow down my progress. Will aim to get on it a bit more after the holidays.

Whisky2014 · 12/04/2017 21:22

I am just going through my bets to use the calculator and figure out what my projected profit will be.. the betfred website is shit and doesn't say what the odds of my bet are in decimals. If my liability on betfair was £11 and the lay bet was £10...what would the back bet odds on betfred have been?

Verticalvenetianblinds · 12/04/2017 21:24

Coral one a winner so free bets put on for tomoro.
So today has been a steep learning curve!
Started with 130, put 10 in betfred, 5 in coral. Fucked up and put 100 in betfair!
But it's worked out ok, and I've just transferred 70 back to my actual account.
And all bets are placed leaving 53 in my betfair. Will report back when they've settled. What a tense day, thanks for the support!!

Verticalvenetianblinds · 12/04/2017 21:27

There's a description on how to get betfred to decimal, it's how I fucked up earleir!

Whisky2014 · 12/04/2017 21:29

I found a converter. When doing the bet I had decimal on but when you check your bet once places (on your statement) it has it in fractions. I see its a loss and wondered what I've been doing but realised it's just pennies and will allow me to get the 30quid free bet! Phew

Whisky2014 · 12/04/2017 21:33

Can someone pm a link to the spreadsheet they downloaded

AHobbyaweek · 12/04/2017 21:37

Just started and did the first two offers on odds monkey. Tried horseriding and was stressful!
Also with bet fair, one says unmatched on my free bet. Does this mean I have done it wrong. There is still the odds (or very close) available, do I cancel and redo?
