Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook
www.lazymanandmoney.com/is-every-mlm-a-scam
We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work. Flogging the amazing skinny lard and now carbonated lard. The arsenic is not the evil Victorian stuff. #TeamDannii #gettingalardon

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

Those 'events'..... that's one of the things that led me to these threads, a friend became a bot and posted a pic of herself walking across a stage with a sash on with 'Manager' on it, it seemed really really odd to me. There were hundreds at the event and they were being 'recognised' (eh?)

That's when I realised she was in a cult

Spongebobette · 08/01/2017 23:43

Hi Mayor

Yup yup yup Tropic is one. Stay away!

MayorMayhem · 08/01/2017 23:44

As I suspected sponge. Would be interested to hear more from people who have tried it.

clarinsgirl · 08/01/2017 23:47

Just realised that I posted on the old thread. Haven't posted since about thread 3 but am really pissed off. Can't do the screen shot thingy for some reason but so fed up to find scammy mlm pretending to be a charity. Puritii (what is it with mlms and the letter i?). Sadly I can't post on her site as she blocked me when I challenged her income claims when she was with FL. She also seems to be an Ariix bot. She is desperate for volunteers to help out with her charity (puritii) 😩

WhoKn0wsWhereTheTimeG0es · 08/01/2017 23:55

De-lurking here too. My cousin did Tropic for a couple of years, the products are pretty good, and she has a lot of experience in the beauty business. She never tried to recruit any of us, never mentioned there being any pressure to do so, but she wasn't out to make big bucks, just wanted a little extra income and has a genuine love for skincare and make-up. She gave it up when family circumstances changed, not because of any problems with doing it.

clarinsgirl · 08/01/2017 23:58

This. charitiesintandem.org/ . So they want charities to sign up to the mlm to 'raise money' ???? WTAF?

Spongebobette · 08/01/2017 23:58

Just checked on Overcamebullyingbot

She's looking for 3 new ppl to join her team in Jan

The recruiting is absolutely relentless

ittookme1hrtothinkofthisname · 09/01/2017 00:12

Ex-Bot here too. I wasn't going to come out but after seeing all of you take the plunge I wanted gombe brave. I was a manager in FL Blush I left last May. Best decision I ever made. Since I have
Heard of so many leaving but sadly some get sucked into another MLM.
Only today I was celebrating when I thought a girl i knew had seen the light....soon realised she had joined ariix. Sad
More and more are definitely catching on in FL anyway and I can't see it lasting much longer especially now with a dwindling product range

ScuttlbuttHarpy · 09/01/2017 00:16

De-lurking. Local home based (fairly successful) hairdresser near me, has just started Arbonne. Of course I received the recruiting message that she has been told to send every woman on her friend list about her exciting opportunity, not mentioning the company...so I couldn't tell if it was younique, fl, jp, arbonne, actilabs, or some other random mlm, so had to ask her, also told her that ive had the same message from younique, acti and forever, so cant tell which one shes with. As soon as she said Arbonne I told her not interested, been with forever, same business model and I dont beleive in paying more in than getting out. Also mlm's are like pyramid schemes, you only need to google to see thats the case. She ok hunned me.

Few days later, I post about wanting to lose weight...within seconds she messaged about this detox group she has going. Told her no offence I'll be doing it by cutting out crisps and cake and exercising. she thumbs upped me?

Not being funny but they must spend all there time on social media spamming contacts about it, I was told to contact all my friends when doing fl, I hope I wasn't that irritating, its a bit embarrassing to be honest.

I'm doing Avon, but I have a customer base in my village, I go out a few times a month with it and I started because I wanted to connect with the people in the village more, after moving. I have a few friends that buy too, but I don't push it on them. I've noticed its now in the same catagory of these rip off ones as its now an mlm, which saddens me.

lastuseraccount123 · 09/01/2017 03:56

hey it's last. way to go, guys, on everything you/we've achieved over the past year. go us!

smears lard all over body with excitement

Hello last, stranger! #lardon

Or am I being a cynic and you can make some money from it?

Embrace your cynical self. You'll thank yourself for it later.

A top Coffee Bot is boasting about working from her bed, in the pub and while having her nails done. I don't understand why that's attractive? I can think of other things I'd rather do in bed (like sleeping of course), I don't want to work when I'm in the pub and if I get my nails done it's a nice bit of "me" time!

Twunk · 09/01/2017 09:50

Yo, last! long time no see!

1st - all the C9s being given away - yes! It's because they've got a garage-full of the stuff they need to get rid of. We've seen examples of this so they get their bonuses - and if you've got to make up orders fast pick the most expensive item! You can always sell it on eBay, or give them away as "incentives".

2nd - all this spamming social media is NOT going to work. It just isn't - the only interaction you get is from other bots.

3rd - I've had a #Lardon in my bed this morning #teamDaniiiii

CurlsandCurves · 09/01/2017 10:20

interesting to hear what's going on inside FL at the moment. It must be 9 years or so since I left, so I'm well out of touch.

So lots of FL bots are starting to see the light, then? My upline was a couple with a precious metal (or Spandau Ballet song!) as part of their surname, they are in the top 10 in the country still I think. What I remember is they were both very charismatic, it's so easy to fall for when you see their home, their cars, hear their 'story' etc.

But from what I've seen on FB those cheques they get at profit share don't seem to be nearly as big as they used to be.

What's the deal with FL changing how much ccs are worth?

Twunk · 09/01/2017 10:43

It used to be 2CCs for recruitment
It's now 1CC (because the box value is limited to £200 in the U.K. whereas other countries' boxes were more like £400)

So to get your 4CCs, instead of recruiting 2 and "selling" one, (or recruiting 1 and selling 2) you now have to do a lot more!

cozietoesie · 09/01/2017 10:53

....smears lard all over body with excitement....

That is not the ideal vision to have in your head on a cold Monday morning! Grin

AuntieStella · 09/01/2017 11:13

If you want to do something about global access to clean water and adequate sanitation, then you can just give money to a charity - here's a shout out for two which I think do brilliant work on this:

www.wateraid.org/uk

www.toilettwinning.org

and don't go about it via bottled water, but by securing proper supply.

And harpy I don't think Avon is tarred with quite the same brush, because you don't have to go into recruiting a network at all, the company is upfront about T&Cs and what you're likely to make (and being the only Avon lady in a largish village is a good patch to have) and it doesn't have the weird cultish aspects. And the products are sensibly priced for what they are.

ScuttlbuttHarpy · 09/01/2017 11:31

I found this, not sure how true it is but I'm sure if it is true, a load more bots will see the light .www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2017/01/07/kirsten_dunst_to_star_in_amc_s_multilevel_marketing_comedy.html

fruityb · 09/01/2017 11:50

My bot posted about the all expenses paid trip to the Dominican Republic that was their incentive this year. Only turns out you have to get yourself there and back and it's four nights. And she can only take one person so that doesn't include her two kids. It's a sod of a long way for four nights that isn't all expenses paid at all. I'm really sad about her as she set up a FB page and said she wouldn't spam her personal one. Only every single post has a mention of it in there - even when she's just been out with her husband and kids there's some mention. She keeps talking about growing her business but I fail to see how she can! She's not running it she's a customer as everyone else is. And my goodness that younique is expensive!

SeahorsesSwim · 09/01/2017 13:32

Hi everyone. I've seen lots of friends go down to these shitty con schemes. Never joined one myself, but when I was on mat leave a few years ago and had never heard of them I met someone at a summer Fayre who had a Fl stand and was running a 'competition'. I entered my details and surprise surprise I won!!! A tube of aloe cream!!! She spent a lot of time damning Holland and Barrett and their inferior products and claiming FL aloe would heal crohns Angry I gave my address for the product I'd 'won' but she didn't want to post it. I agreed to meet her for coffee close to my house (still oblivious to FL) but then she cancelled and wanted to meet close to her house, still to give me my 'prize' then she wanted me to join her amazing company. I declined, never met her, never did get my 'prize'. Worst thing was her claim about crohns though and her criticism of the Holland and barret supplements I'd bought previously.

cozietoesie · 09/01/2017 13:38

Oh Yes - achieve a F2F. That way, you can lean on the old social niceties.

Tupperwarelid · 09/01/2017 17:16

Please can someone message me who the over came bullying bot is? I can't work out which one it is.

Many thanks

rosettesforjill · 09/01/2017 17:44

fruityb I wonder if my friend's incentives are similar! Miami or Spain in her case. Her MLM would never make misleading claims about the aloe they sell or how much cheaper they are than any other diet plan, obviously 🙄
