Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook
www.lazymanandmoney.com/is-every-mlm-a-scam
We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work. Flogging the amazing skinny lard and now carbonated lard. The arsenic is not the evil Victorian stuff. #TeamDannii #gettingalardon

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

Cheeky that's a great post.

First time I'm posting here but been reading a little. I have a few mlm friends and it's really starting to get to me.

One in particular, has been hounding me to join her team, with stories of white mercs and trips.

In order to get her to leave me alone (for how long) I ordered some baby stuff and skincare. Everytime I use it I feel ripped off.

She continually posts about how arbonne is allowing her to stay at home, how her kids are so lucky to have their mum at home.

I have young children and work and it feels like she's judging my choice to work but I'm expected to fund her choices!

DoratheExplorer17 · 10/01/2017 19:32

If you're wondering how people get sucked in. They are spoken to (prospected) one at a time. You're told a no is just a 'not right now'. You're told to keep in touch with them. Like their photos etc. And eventually when the time is right they will say yes. Sadly when the time is right it's usually when people are feeling vulnerable or desperate. There are a couple of exceptions to this. People who are incredibly clever who know exactly what they're doing to get to top bot status.

rosettesforjill · 10/01/2017 19:40

Dora that's exactly what happened to my friend. Newborn, feeling frumpy, PND/anxiety and they got her. Makes me sick - they really go for people when they're at their most vulnerable Sad

I be just read this on a FL team page ( I have copied & pasted the post)

To all the mums/dads...

What do you do when your baby/child is so demanding/clingy that you don't get a minute to yourself during the day? Do you just work your business during the evening?

From a stressed out mum of a 10 month old!! 🙈

REALLY!!!
Children grow up so quickly, she should be cherishing every second with her baby! This defeats the object of 'working from home' surely!!! If she had a J.O.B then she could earn a living & spend time with her child!!

This is what I hate about MLM!!
😡😡😡

user1479228519 · 10/01/2017 19:45

It gets worse ... Reading through the comments she then posts..

Yeah id have to wake at 3 too lol! hes been waking at 5:15am lately and I get up at 5 to start mindset etc. Its a joke at the mo. Then boyfriend gets home at 4pm and I manage to get stuff done thankfully, but have to do a lot of mindset before I even begin as I'm so stressed from not being able to do work with the baby in the day1!

Oh dear o dear....

Spongebobette · 10/01/2017 19:54

That makes me really sad.

cozietoesie · 10/01/2017 21:12

Tired, tired, tired. Ideal recruiting material, I fear.

cozietoesie · 10/01/2017 21:27

Sorry - or 'persuading' material. Sad

AuntieStella · 10/01/2017 21:37

Coty are buying 60% of Younique

www.coty.com/news/coty-enter-partnership-younique-leading-online-peer-peer-social-selling-platform-beauty

What's that likely to mean in practice ?

cozietoesie · 10/01/2017 21:49

Changes to product lines, I guess.

BSintolerant · 10/01/2017 21:56

Hello to all of you delurkers!

strawberry

I have young children and work and it feels like she's judging my choice to work but I'm expected to fund her choices!

Well put. Smile

Magna · 10/01/2017 22:36

Back again. I have been following these threads as these MLMs are creeping on to my fb and work.

The reason for my hurried post earlier today was an enquiry from a Jamberry person asking about a stand at a wedding fair. I've put a stop to FL and Juiceplus having stands but wasn't 100% sure about Jamberry.

Rightly or wrongly I don't want them bombarding bride and grooms.

Thanks again for the quick reply

Spongebobette · 10/01/2017 23:13

Uh oh brace yourselves for an avalanche of this shit

OK, everyone who has watched my younique journey .....this news is for you .......!
Anyone who said "Oh it's just pyramid sales you can't make any money doing that" ....this news is for you !

Have you heard of ......
Tiffany, Marc Jacobs? Chloe? Cover Girl? Wella? Clairol? Calvin Klein? Rimmel? GHD? +++ many more
Do you buy from them ???
Do they count as a real company? ✔️
Would you buy from them because even though you don't know a single person that works there you'd rather support them than a company like mine just because they are well known?? .. 😝 maybe?????

Coty Inc..🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝

The company that owns these brands has today invested 600 MILLION In Younique!!!!! 🤑🤑🤑🤑 that's right!!!! We are going BIGGER, growing FASTER and going GLOBAL!!!! Younique is going to become a household name in the next few years..
And You could be in on that !

Younique is the only debt free com0any in the USA and the 600 million dollars ? Well that's going to the younique foundation.....a charity that helps victims of sexual abuse ......

Oh and just for the record - We are now a Billion Dollar Company not bad for 4 years in! #MoreThanJustMascara
#yflourish #beinittowinit

DoratheExplorer17 · 10/01/2017 23:30

Coty just BOUGHT 60% of the shares. Pretty sure most of that $600 million will be going into the founders back pocket??

And Younique is only a $400 million not billion dollar. It's Coty that has $9 billion. Very misleading the way they've worded that!!

DoratheExplorer17 · 10/01/2017 23:31

And I hate to piss on their chips but there is another company out there that is debt free 😂

HopefulHamster · 11/01/2017 00:05

My friend (who I have mentioned on earlier threads) has got further and further sucked into FL now. She's started going to lots of training days. Still has no idea of how much money she's actually made from her 'business'. Texts me to see how I'm getting on with the products. Hosts events and invites the same small group of friends every time because she doesn't really know enough people to do networking with :(

I feel bad. I tried telling her how I felt early on, but she had family members and friends disapproving too and she obviously needed support. She's a newish friend (due to our kids), and if I criticised I would just push her away. So instead I'm trying to offer support by listening and not by buying anything. I'm not sure when she'll see the light though. Sigh.

Also, it's tax time. How many FL bots are registered with HMRC do we think?

MyCatsHateMLMtoo · 11/01/2017 07:24

Has anyone not considered that MLM companies are 'debt free' because they divert all the debt to their bots? Sad

Coty Inc have decided to use MLM to sell their goods, it seems. A backwards step I believe, but they obviously see the benefits for the company (see my first sentence).

darceybussell · 11/01/2017 09:51

Erm, the only debt free company in the USA? What is this bullshit! There will be millions of companies in the US with no debt, just like there are millions of them in the UK too!

Also, if I set up a company in the USA tomorrow with $1 share capital and then do nothing and leave it dormant - guess what, I'll also have a debt free company! Hurrah for me! I'll be the pinnacle of success!

rosettesforjill · 11/01/2017 10:24

Saw this yesterday - Herbalife yet another product Cristiano Ronaldo DEFINITELY 100% USES as part of his regime alongside KFC and this m.youtube.com/watch?v=RA45cq0i2AA

NotSoEagerBeaver · 11/01/2017 10:38

I lost a very good friend 2 years ago to Forever Living. She announced one day she had "started a business" as she had been out of work for a while. Fair enough, good for you I thought. It was only when she started filling my FB feed with info about products (obviously originated elsewhere) and statuses with weird phrases (something like forever living forever you ) that I googled FL and found out what it was. Her "business" came up in every conversation we had by text, phone or in person. Every conversation became a sales pitch.

Eventually I lost patience and tried to show her it was a scam, but then I was "jealous of her success". I told her to leave me alone until she saw sense. 2 years on I she's never contacted me, crossed the street to avoid me on several occasions. No idea if she is still at it or just to embarrassed tospeak to me. Sad

Then 3 months later a couple move in opposite me in a fully sign written "Utility Warehouse" car! They tried to recruit me 2 weeks after me giving birth (I agree they target the vulnerable and pick their moment) but couldn't answer when I asked how they make a profit if they're also "saving people money" Hmm they don't speak time now.

Why are they legal? Angry

Spongebobette · 11/01/2017 13:05

Urgh it's Iike the invasion of the body snatchers isn't it!!

FromIbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 11/01/2017 14:03

I see some of the bots are getting to the end of their C9 cleanse and, guess what, they've lost some weight!!

No shit Sherlock! You've been living on aloe shite (known laxative), exercising and eating nowt but frigging cucumber for a few days...... of course you're going to lose weight.

Bet they don't report back in a month or so to say the weight has stayed off otherwise, let's face it, they wouldn't keep needing to do these C9s!

Toobusytowee · 11/01/2017 15:00

Eye've got a message here from an MLM expert who used to frequent these threads.

Can you explain (in answer to NotSoEagerBeaver's question) that I have have said that 'MLMs' are dissimulated, self-perpetuating blame-the-victim frauds and that what they hide is most definitely unlawful, but that they have been maliciously set up behind labyrinths of legally-registered companies to dodge criminal investigation and prosecution. In the USA, the act setting up of corporate labyrinths to commit crimes (including fraud), but dodge investigation and prosecution, is itself defined as major racketeering activity and it is (in theory) prohibited by the US federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organisations Act, 1970. No common-sense anti-racketeering legislation has ever been enacted in the UK.

Helipad · 11/01/2017 16:38

I've probably written here before but I have a galore of bots at my fingertips. I live in a naice middle class, fairly affluent area and we have a Stella & Dot, several FL, Younique, Phoenix cards, Usborne and Tropic. And I also have an ex-colleague (when I use to work in an office before kids) who jumped FL and is now Ariix-bot. Lucky me eh?

Our local beauty salon stocks Younique as the owner is a presenter. What I know of her, she's actually very good in her field so I do not understand why she'd mess with the shit that is Younique. I don't use her salon so I don't know how pushy she is with the stuff.

We also have several FL reps within one square mile. One of them, who apparently makes "5k" a month is a typical head girl type. Quite surprised she hasn't tried to recruit me at all as even though I don't know her personally, our paths have crossed several times.

I'm self-employed now and feel so proud of my little company. It's not big bucks yet but I do what I love and earn more without having to humiliate myself. I also belong to a local "business mums" group and it's full of these bots. I do wonder what the proper business mums really think of them, the general consensus in the village seems to be very supporting, buy local, support other mums, they are running their own business and ya da ya da.

Many of my friends keep buying FL-products from the bots because they are kind hearted and again, want to support local business. Couple of my friends have also been through several Clean 9's and swear by it. They also think Tropic is very ethical company and they products are purest of the pure. I'd love to say what I really think but it'll be like a social suicide and I'd be seen as a negative hater. And I'm just not strong enough to take that on lol.

cozietoesie · 11/01/2017 18:22

Difficult for you. Would you really enjoy their lives though?
