Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work. Flogging the amazing skinny lard and now carbonated lard. The arsenic is not the evil Victorian stuff. #TeamDannii #gettingalardon

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

Same here. A bright intelligent and beautiful friend of mine disappeared down that rabbit hole too. I only hear from her when she wants me to buy the overpriced tat which is basically like body shop with a Lancôme price tag on it (!!!!) Usually she's open with me at least and says she needs the sale to push through to yet another level (she was meant to reach something that would give her that ridiculous white Mercedes last year but still not there) so I buy stuff out of pity but after the last time I decided that this is it. No more. I can't enable this anymore. I usually give this stuff away anyway as I don't like it. She privately told me she struggled to sustain this "business" in the past and that she wasn't making money but her faceboook is all high life and naff hashtags. Seriously. It's such a rip off.

cozietoesie · 19/03/2017 23:43

Smoke and mirrors. And devastating to friends and family. Those few friends that remain that is and haven't been driven away. I'm very sorry, Fluttering and christs. Sad

Flutteringkites · 19/03/2017 23:57

Christs and cozie, thanks. It is awful isn't it.

My friend has the white merc, so she must have a sizeable down line soI think she has deffo crossed the line from victim of the scam to scammer now.

Her husband winds me up as he is an intelligent man in the financial serivces industry and cannot be naive about these scams.

Yet, he still has the audacity to email us and pretty much try to demand that we buy overpriced hand cream or fucking beard serum from her when she is on deadline for a target, as 'she works hard and true friends support each other'. Fuck that.

I just want to give them a shake.

cozietoesie · 20/03/2017 00:27

People will put up with extraordinary things from their partners, especially if they have children together. There may even be some suspension of belief going on. ('Not my dearest wife etc etc'....) Who can tell?

Would your husband and his family be very upset if you cut them off?

Flutteringkites · 20/03/2017 00:46

No, we could cut them off but it just seems so surreal. We look at their Facebook updates and keeping thinking: 'is it us or is this fucked up.' Whilst all the rest of the family and long term friends rally round posting platitudes.

I suspect we aren't the only people who feel this way.

I suppose we have hung on so long because we hoped they would come to their senses but it has been four years now and they are disappearing more and more up their 'life is truly wonderful with Arbonne, thank you, universe' arses.

I think they are lost and I need to step away.

cozietoesie · 20/03/2017 01:30

It might be helpful for you also to read the link I posted upthread. (Botwatchblog) You're by no means alone.

Flutteringkites · 20/03/2017 01:33

Cheers, cozie, will do!

Coffee Bots
There were three of them who pulled away from Lifetree World after spending months trying to pull people in despite knowing full well that there were massive problems. Salon Bot was one. One of the others has since gone Diamond (car plan) and is busy flashing photos of the Range Rover. The other one has had a massive fallout with Valentus, slagged them off on a live and is now promoting a Cryptocurrency scheme (21% ROI if you please) and Ariiiiiiiiiix. I'm on my phone so I can't PM at the moment!

What fresh hell is this?

Since the 70s the federal reserve have not backed money by gold, they realised they can can just print money the system is so unfair as they add debt in to it straight away the counties that cannot afford to pay back will not get any, if one person is sucessful someone will suffer discrace right....

We are taking the power back to the people with the power of digital currancy which is the first time it is actually backed by gold.

We have not only started trading in gold but actually bought our own mine in New Guinea

This is Huge as you get the papers for legal ownership of your gold and can have it sent to your home address or have it kept in one of three vaults around the UK and you earn 1% per month off the value of the gold...

Real business, real values shoot us an inbox for more info...

Spongebobette · 20/03/2017 17:44

Might be an idea to learn how to spell distributor. Then I might sign up with you.

I do feel we are descending into new MLM hell with the cryptocurrency Ponzi schemes. The "gold" backed one is GCC, there's Coinspace of course and E-Dinar. All offering a huge ROI which should ring a massive warning bell to anyone other than the terminally gullible. OneCoin seems to have finally gone down the pan and the vultures are circling with claims that their Crypto scheme is sooo much more betterer huns with a few mentions of blockchains thrown in so it sounds like they know what they are taking about.

talking not taking!

BSintolerant · 20/03/2017 21:22

Big hairy bollocks to the Daily Fail, but their Q&A section (which must be for the benefit of their readers who can't be arsed to google) made me smile.

What is the longest jail sentence?

^The longest sentence handed down by a court is that imposed on Chamoy Thipyaso of Thailand, who set up the Mae Chamoy Fund (Mae being Thai for Mother) which was made to look like an oil share with high returns.

Effectively a pyramid scheme, it collapsed in the mid-Eighties, defrauding 16,231 people out of about £200 million. It's thought some of her victims were members of the Thai Royal Family.

On July 27 1989, she was sentenced to a record 141,078 years in prison. In the event, she served only about eight.^

We live in hope. Grin

Spongebobette · 21/03/2017 23:02

Can someone set up a new thread please?

Seaturtle08 · 26/10/2017 00:01

My FB bot unfriended me because I would not participate in Juice Plus. Dumped by a Bot.... I guess I will go have a glass of blueberry wine and cheer myself up.Wine
