Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work. Flogging the amazing skinny lard and now carbonated lard. The arsenic is not the evil Victorian stuff. #TeamDannii #gettingalardon

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

Someone should point them to the stories about King Cnut. Wink

Twunk · 08/01/2017 16:45

I've just been reading the thread about the teepees. Can anyone remind me about the DSA £200 limit on starting a company that the FL bots fell foul of (no longer getting their 2CCs because the intro box is smaller than other countries)

Twunk · 08/01/2017 16:45

Oh and thanks for the new thread!!

Twunk · 08/01/2017 18:13

Thanks Cheeky for the help on the other thread

user1479228519 · 08/01/2017 19:26

Loving these threads. I was completely brainwashed & became a FLbot.
It's scary because I nearly quit my really well paid job to do it full time. You get sold a dream and all it does is cost you money. Everything is extra... Training, promotional material and samples . you are encouraged to spend a fortune on the products in otter to recommend. So I didn't make any money at all!
I did like some of the products & some of the positive thing training / mindset training has helped me through a few difficult times I've had just recently, but you find the mind set training is used as a control tool to keep you going & keep you sucked in.

I'm still on the team pages & it still beggers belief that the bots on the bottom will ALL get to the top... One day... Because they'll #smashit #bossbabes

I follow so many bots who copy & paste status from the top bots especially when it's global rally & eagle retreat... Making out they're there... But I know they're not! It's all smoke & mirrors. I can't see how anyone makes any real money!

Spongebobette · 08/01/2017 20:35

Oh user14 well done for getting out. What led you to make the decision in the end?

user1479228519 · 08/01/2017 21:54

I left for lots of reasons. Fundamentally it was not natural for me to 'prospect'. You are encouraged to approach strangers and go 'contact marketing'. So an example is if you are out shopping say trying on a dress & the assistant is helpful, you invite them to be your friend on Facebook 'you've been really helpful today, I think you'd be really good at what I do can I add you on Facebook & I'll send you some details'

Just not me at all and makes me cringe!

The amount of new people added to the team pages is staggering and they're all going to smash it apparently!! They all go live' ok I decided to go live really quickly guys' is how they all start.
Top bots especially one who has a brother & sister creaming from the bottom bots are all a smug as hell. Bottom bots LOVE them!

I was totally sucked in and promised the dream . In reality you have to prospect everyone you meet & have a team of at least 30 to make any real money. I was constantly on my phone, posting standard bot memes and messaging people. I feel so embarrassed about it all now. If I carried on I know I would have totally lost friends.

So to make money you have to prospect literally everyone you know to create a big enough and active enough team. You have to retail loads of products, most of which are so expensive, after your friends & family have initially purchased from you to support your new venture, they won't buy again.

There are lots of hidden costs. The qls training this weekend is £30 per day just for tickets . £30 is the average cost of a days training. All of the marketing materials are really expensive.

All of a sudden I've spent £200 on a box of cosmetics and am a 'global business coach & mentor' CRINGE!!!!

BSintolerant · 08/01/2017 22:35

Good for you for getting out. It's a grubby way of making money isn't it?

I wonder if the top bot's relatives got a head start by nefarious means - shuffling lower bots around and suchlike. The whole thing stinks.

Spongebobette · 08/01/2017 22:45

It really really stinks

When I see those top bots and their smug lifestyle posts all I can think of is the churn at the bottom of the pyramid and the poor women who are paying for it all

Spongebobette · 08/01/2017 22:47

And the videos posted from the Telford event expose the fact that it is all about prospecting and recruiting.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's a fucking pyramid

cozietoesie · 08/01/2017 22:57

Well done for escaping user14. Can you imagine where you'd be in six months if you had left your J.O.B. and had no money coming in?

DoratheExplorer17 · 08/01/2017 23:02

That clappy weekend you're talking about will have been at least £100 a ticket and it's the same stuff churned out every time.

A couple of you asked me what made me see the light?

After watching mine and so many friends incomes tumble this year, I took a bit of a step back to look at what I was doing and why it had gone the way it had.

I was sold a dream. That dream didn't happen no matter how hard I worked. My friends avoided me at all costs. People HATE direct selling unless they are in direct selling. I had to look at what I wanted more. Do I want to be rich, living in a beautiful dream home with piles of money and no genuine friends?? Or would I rather live a decent life in a decent house and doing well for myself in a job, with real and genuine friends who actually want to know me? It's a no brainer to me. My friends are worth far more to me than a huge cheque!!!!

I became disillusioned with all the hatred you are supposed to have for living in the real world. The way you're brainwashed into thinking that a J.O.B. And a retirement plan is only for losers. The way we are taught to belittle anyone who is simply trying to make an honest living by going to work. And the way anyone who calls you a smug/flash #bitchbabe is a hater. I got sick of seeing people constantly posting about materialistic items. I couldn't give a shit about expensive shoes, handbags and cars, if it means I have to sacrifice my friends and family. Life is about more than money and that's something I've learnt through being in MLM!!!

I'm on a little bit of a rant now, but I feel like I've wasted the time spent in MLM. It's sold as a lifestyle which gives you more family time. But the reality is that you sacrifice that precious time with your partner and kids....and for what??? MONEY!!!! I now know what I value and it's definitely not money. I can earn a bloody good living by just working frigging hard, but I still get to be with my family.

I just wish that everyone could see it for what it is and get out now!!!!

queenc81 · 08/01/2017 23:04

So glad I found this thread.

A just over a year ago I went through an awful time, and during that time a younique bot caught on that I wasn't doing so well. Basically made the younique life seem amazing. My first month I did really well, but worked my bum off for it, little did I know that you had to start at the beginning every single month... I was never told this. I lasted 6 months, I took a nervous breakdown and my husband nearly walking away for me to end it. It was a truly awful horrendous time. I had shit going on in my personal life, then younique people messaging me to 'push sales' it all got too much. I've ended up around £500 down. Will never get that back, but it's a lesson well leaned.

Thanks for the thread, I feel so embarrassed to speak about it all, so it's nice to get it all out here x

DoratheExplorer17 · 08/01/2017 23:06

User14 I know exactly the top boy you are talking about. I like to call them the 'supersmugs'!!!!

DoratheExplorer17 · 08/01/2017 23:08
  • top bot (not top boy)
cozietoesie · 08/01/2017 23:13

But Dora. Were you actually making money?

Sean1984 · 08/01/2017 23:16

Well done to the posters sharing personal experience ,its great to hear these real-life events about these awful schemes, it brings it home, an eye opener.

cozietoesie · 08/01/2017 23:16

Don't feel embarrassed, queenc. There are plenty people here who have been sucked in but managed to escape - and all of us could be sucked in if we were tackled at just the right point. No one is immune.

user1479228519 · 08/01/2017 23:26

Doratheexplorer
Literally your rant is my rant! 100% agree with everything you say.
The bot who introduced me is constantly sharing photos of her lauboutains... But fails to tell people that it's the fact that her husband has an amazing job... Forever didn't buy her those red soles!! #drossbabe

user1479228519 · 08/01/2017 23:33

Do you think 'supersmugs' are actually employees by FL? Or get some kind of additional payment. There seems to be a lot of £5000 & £1000 prize draws for those that have hit certain cc's the last couple of months.

Also my direct manager was giving away loads of products last month & im talking about 20 c9's plus other high value items. This was to encourage orders through so she would hit her cc target to get chairmanship bonus in Dubai.. So if you put through an order of 1 cc you'd get a free c9 as a bonus, the more cc's you put through the bigger the bonus! . I just don't get it?? Who's paying for the c9s that are being given away. ??? Or is the manager effectively buying her own bonus? But what would be the point?
Oh it makes me love my j.o.b even more.. So straightforward!!! Lol

AssembleTheMinions · 08/01/2017 23:36

The latest thing with my pet bots is a 6am webinar every day this week. They are all super excited and totally buzzing for it. The best bit is, anyone can dial in! Not just bots. It's too too exciting Grin

Spongebobette · 08/01/2017 23:36

I have often suspected that there's a lot of cheating going on, bots buying product to qualify for bonuses and to be able to hold up a big cheque

Spongebobette · 08/01/2017 23:37

6am??

And 8pm webinars and 'trainings'

Gaaaah

MayorMayhem · 08/01/2017 23:41

Lurker here tentatively coming out of the shadows to ask advice - has anyone experience of Tropic? I have a friend who claims to earn £££ and is recruiting - am I right in thinking its MLM and difficult to earn? I know it's claim is all products are 100% natural - so is cyanide but I'm not going to rub that on my skin!! Or am I being a cynic and you can make some money from it?
