Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook
www.lazymanandmoney.com/is-every-mlm-a-scam
We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work. Flogging the amazing skinny lard and now carbonated lard. The arsenic is not the evil Victorian stuff. #TeamDannii #gettingalardon

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

aaaah, I wonder if the gratitude diary that my bot has mentioned a few times is another MLM side-product to keep the wheels turning?

ItsyBitsyBikini · 18/01/2017 21:26

Yep heard of this gifting books/diaries etc to bots. Most recently on fb today, another recruited friend wrote a gushing post about the friend who recruited her about how with this book (and what looked like a bloody sticker chart) she'd be successful in no time.

cozietoesie · 18/01/2017 21:28

I'm sure that anyone on - or reading - these threads could turn out quite a passable effort in an evening. Smile

After all - like the (basically 4 was it?) novels written for The Proles in 1984 - there aren't that many themes. You get your name and a picture on the cover under a title something like 'My Journey'. Smile It's a sort of vanity publishing, really.

And Yes, Ibiza, I should imagine that it would spur you on/down. ' I got it from her for FREE! What a wonderful person who really cares about me. Grin

Spongebobette · 18/01/2017 21:29

Yes get a cheapo planner with gold lettering on it and you are guaranteed success!

You can spend your spare pockets of time scribbling your friends' names in it, listing their 'hot buttons' and generally look busy 'working your business'

ScuttlbuttHarpy · 18/01/2017 22:36

Urggghhhh the buggers are infiltrating job sites now, there was even one that said you could earn 48-200k per year if you invest 12.5 k into this franchise. Even said for this you'll get a business in a box, free training, yada yada...sorry I shuddered and scrolled on after the business in a box bit. I just want a part time job ffs, Avon's good for pocket money but its not going to pay for a car, and they don't even have a car plan that I can alienate everyone I speak to by trying to make them my downline for a merc, so I need a job that'll pay more than £50 a month, and these buggers are there, promising car plans, unlimited earnings and holidays abroad all for the price of a business in a box and your soul . They are relentless.

Spongebobette · 19/01/2017 01:12

No no no fuck right off

Arbonnebot?

ScuttlbuttHarpy · 19/01/2017 01:30

Ooohhhh we could play guess the pyramid scheme, with the posts they post Grin

fitgirl26 · 19/01/2017 10:19

A fellow fitness instructor posted yesterday about being ill. Someone posted "Horrible to feel unwell in our business. I take an immunity support that has kept everything away this year, been my healthiest Christmas/winter for ages"
Clicked on her profile - Arbonne Bot. Figures. I bet my friend had a nice PM winging her way!

SSDGM · 19/01/2017 10:34

Ooh, it appears Top ex LTW now coffeebot has blocked me even though we have never had anything to do with each other.. nothing to do with my posts on Timeless Vie or Botwatch, I'm sure. Grin

BSintolerant · 19/01/2017 11:09

SSDGM - result! Grin

She thinks she's blocked me too. But we are legion, we are many. 😈

SSDGM · 19/01/2017 11:36

(We also have spare snooping accounts) Halo

cozietoesie · 19/01/2017 11:43

Oh Well Done, SSDGM. Smile

Sean1984 · 19/01/2017 14:36

SSDGM was that the post that I said "twas the best thing since sliced bread"? Im blocked too!!! I was wondering where that post went to on timeless vie!!!

fitgirl26 · 19/01/2017 15:09

She's blocked the account I use to post on Timeless Vie as well! Good job it's not my main account....

BSintolerant · 19/01/2017 15:38

She'll no doubt unblock our multiple accounts when she makes a million and retires at 30, just like all those other MLM bots who've done just that, whose names we all know. Hmm

CheekySmile · 19/01/2017 16:33

Yep she's blocked me too. I've never commented on the page of anyone who belongs to a MLM, only on Timeless Vie, so it must be a preventative measure.
In what other line of business would anyone ever behave like that?

inaclearingstandsaboxer · 19/01/2017 17:03

I can still see her..... 😬

acatcalledjohn · 19/01/2017 17:58

I'm blocked but can still see her talking about how it's a 'real career/industry', 'wow, I give so much to my team', 'I've helped so many women from difficult backgrounds'.

Narcissism personified.

It it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

MrsJamin · 19/01/2017 18:56

Noticed a Facebook post in a local "gossip girls" group asking for work at home ideas and poor OP was inundated with mlm bots. I said "beware mlms" and so did another poster, but they have continued to say "inbox me hun x", makes me so angry that mums can only see these as ways to make money when hardly any do make minimum wage if you add up hours worked minus costs. Angry

DoratheExplorer17 · 19/01/2017 18:57

Can someone PM me the name of the ex ltw now coffee bot. I think I might know who it is. And if it's the one I think it it, she's not well liked by her peers!!!

SSDGM · 19/01/2017 19:01

Sean, she must have blocked everyone who even liked the post. A friend of mine did make a pretty vicious (but true) observation and I liked both that and the post but never commented. That post must have massively hurt her "designer" ego.

ItsyBitsyBikini · 19/01/2017 19:04

mrsjamin its the solidarity etc. I know if I didn't know what these things are like I would have probably joined! It's awful to see so many of my mummy friends get sucked in only to lose a lot of money, friends and confidence in themselves. The failures are not only rejected by the people they thought were friends and colleagues but seen as pariahs.

Spongebobette · 19/01/2017 21:19

Giving away my age now, but does anyone else have this going round in their head when they see coffeebot?
