Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook
www.lazymanandmoney.com/is-every-mlm-a-scam
We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work. Flogging the amazing skinny lard and now carbonated lard. The arsenic is not the evil Victorian stuff. #TeamDannii #gettingalardon

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

I just can't believe the types of women sucked in. All 3 on my fb are well educated, with families and had seemingly well paid jobs before they started on their totes amazing journey!!! I think I'll just hope for a lottery win

ItsyBitsyBikini · 17/01/2017 21:54

Thanks guys. You never know with some Mners but you seem like a lovely bunch

cozietoesie · 17/01/2017 22:00

No-one is immune, itsy. No-one. Some people would, admittedly, be much much harder to recruit than others but we could all fall for it if the circumstances were just right.

ItsyBitsyBikini · 17/01/2017 22:13

That's very true! Being on mat leave and absolutely on the bones of our arses, you do look at these things and think 'would it be worth it?' so I can see how easy it is to be sucked in. Especially with all the lolz and huns etc

cozietoesie · 17/01/2017 22:16

Ah. The 'love-bombing'? Making you 'part of something' ?

It works, as well.

BSintolerant · 17/01/2017 22:45

Anyone can get sucked into a cult.

TinselTwins · 17/01/2017 22:45

We all have times when we're vulnerable:
It might be a period of loneliness.. it might seem worth it to joing a "team" again for the social aspect
it might be health, even the most rational of us can get desperate
It might be money, what's a little loss of pride on facebook if there's really something in this work from your phone lark?
it might be frustration with weigh loss…

… everyone has a weakness.. that's the hook

cozietoesie · 17/01/2017 22:48

It doesn't even need to be running around as a fully committed adherent. I'm sure there are some 'halfway-houses' which can be used for the real hard cases.

ItsyBitsyBikini · 17/01/2017 23:08

That's just it, the past few weeks whilst thinking about whether to do part or full time work I was also asking around for wfh jobs and these sort of things kept popping up. Even a well known recruiter in my industry said to give it a go as her friend did it! If I didn't know better (and I was good at selling stuff) I may just have got involved myself. I'm just glad I wasn't so vulnerable etc to give it a go

cozietoesie · 17/01/2017 23:19

Well done for resisting. Smile

It can sometimes feel lonely, I'm sure. For those late night thoughts, there's a movie on Vimeo called, I think, Grand Zero. People - posting or reading - should all watch it. Wink

SomethingPhishy · 18/01/2017 07:29

Doratheexplorer17 - if they really do contain however many 'gold standard' fruits & vegetables, that would taste pretty rank so they would surely need to do something. It's the 'bulletproof' line that gets me, is it the capsules themselves that resist gunfire or do they make me bulletproof.... Not sure I can be tempted to part with my cash to find out!

Toobusytowee · 18/01/2017 09:04

Cozie, that film is called Ground Zero. I haven't seen it yet, have you? It's on my list of things to do.

fitgirl26 · 18/01/2017 10:26

Continuing my investigation into the Helo Fitbit OnSpeed (with added Geranium salt) I stumbled upon a Ucan2 video about the Supercar plan! So all you Coffee Bots posting about wanting to reach Diamond 🚗 Car Plan - listen up.
All you need to do is reach President Millionaire four times by May and you get a Ferrari/Lambo/Bentley. That's all! Where do I sign up?

CheekySmile · 18/01/2017 10:36

Grand Zero is definitely worth a watch, it's only 14 mins long

Toobusytowee · 18/01/2017 13:53

Oops, it is GRAND zero! I've been reading it wrong all along. I've been sent a link to it-

acatcalledjohn · 18/01/2017 13:56

Do you ever wonder what to say when someone comes up with an objection?

It is because the objection is valid.

"How to leverage tools effectively so you don’t waste time"..... if one things bots are short of its time!!!!!HmmHmmHmmNOT

cozietoesie · 18/01/2017 15:01

It's all about countering objections though, Sean - objections from the adherents that is. When someone 'isn't doing so well' and seems to be flagging, their 'mentor' can say to them - 'Well. Did you do X, Y or Z for example?' (Or similar.)

Keep them running, keep them tired, keep them looking......elsewhere. Wink

BSintolerant · 18/01/2017 18:17

And keep them spending money (which they'll never earn back from MLM) on training tools, seminars, success days, etc.

FromIbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 18/01/2017 20:23

Talking of spending money they'll never get back can someone who knows about FL answer a question please (and maybe this might happen in other MLMs too) .........

I saw a comment on a FL bots fb page about one of these (many) mindset type books that they all like to devour in their desire to succeed.

The comment implied that you shouldn't borrow the book (or buy it yourself) but always gift it. I was particularly sceptical about the "not borrowing it" bit.

Is this just a way keeping the wheels of MLMs turning by constantly creating a market - new managers buy the books for their team members who, in turn, buy it for their team members (by which time the original manager has probably left) and so on ......

cozietoesie · 18/01/2017 20:36

I think you've more or less answered your own question? Wink

How much are they, do you recall?

FromIbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 18/01/2017 20:44

Not sure on the price but a top bot had bought it for someone.

Wonder how many of those she's gifted over the years? Probably got a cellar full of them.

Imagine the boost you get from receiving a gift from your mentor - it would probably keep you striving towards success that bit longer.......after all she did it and she's now sharing her secret with you....just keep going a bit longer......

Spongebobette · 18/01/2017 20:57

I've seen Pro Planners 'gifted' as rewards for bots
