Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work. Flogging the amazing skinny lard and now carbonated lard. The arsenic is not the evil Victorian stuff. #TeamDannii #gettingalardon

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

So I was in a Costa yesterday and at the table next to me someone was being signed up to a MLM, talked through the structure (MLM structure), the compensation plan (typical MLM compensation plan), the types of prospects and how to sign them up (red, orange and greens) told that they were "entrepreneurs" and then a bit of mindset training "10 habits that all sucessful people follow"….

It was 100% a MLM, down to the recruitment element and promise of big money for those who follow the "habits for success"….

…I felt bad for the girl being signed up, however, when I found out what this MLM was, it was far far worse than any mascara wrap shake nonsense… it was a "charity lottery". For "deaf kiddies". Except it wasn't it was a MLM based on recruitment and comp plans, they are "affiliated" to a large number of deaf charities (didn't name a single one of them specifically, or what "affiliated" means, could be £1 a year!) and the "product" is a "charity" lottery ticket. For deaf kiddies.

A new low eh?

cozietoesie · 19/01/2017 21:48

It's difficult to imagine how that could work within the current rules - such as they are. I'd be tempted to email the details to Timeless Vie or Botwatch and let them check it out at leisure/refer it on if appropriate.

TinselTwins · 19/01/2017 22:12

I think because it doesn't look similar to a MLM, but it essentially is.

What they do is set up legit looking charity gazebos in town and then do (and I quote) "direct marketing" from there. They get pitches on the street like clip board charity workers do. It's not a social media thing.

There are already lots of dodgy "charities" that aren't really charities, just dodgy organisations that pass on a very small % to various charities, that's nothing new at all.. but this is that PLUS a recruitment structure… it's a MLM (not new) doing a dodgy "charity" lottery thing (they're not new either)… both are common and just about legal… but I've never seen them combined like this before Sad

..So what has happened to LTW now? Did the legs finally fall off or is it still going by the skin of it's veneered teeth?

I think I must have missed this - what was the TV post that upset the Valentus coffee girl so much? I drop in on her Facebook every so often as I like her live videos where she makes sure she tells everyone how many pairs of louboutins she has got. Grin

kamchatka23 · 20/01/2017 10:03

I'm sad to report my Forever/Ariix/TLC bot that had 'decided to step away from network marketing' has now been sucked back in to a whole new one. It seems to be something called 'Divee', and doesn't involve any selling of products at all, but a quick search suggests you pay a £25 fee up front and a monthly membership fee. Has anyone else heard of this one?

cozietoesie · 20/01/2017 11:42

I have now. Wink

Toobusytowee · 20/01/2017 13:22

Eyes says that Divee is indeed an MLM. Here is a video from the men who set it up

After watching it, you can see other videos by the same people. Very MLMy.

Annie65 · 20/01/2017 14:59

Hi eyes, we miss you Smile

BSintolerant · 20/01/2017 17:03

Divee - isn't that a scouse insult? Or is it spelt 'divvy'?

Afternoon Eyes. Smile

PopPopRadio · 20/01/2017 17:32

Some enterprising bot must have signed up the person running the Govia bus app. Today's ticket word is aloe. Argh!

Oops, I gave my name away in that last post. I have reported it and reposted it here without my name.

A message from Eyes-

" 'Herbalife' shares have again begun to fall on today's disclosure that the company is under SEC investigation into possible corruption in China.

Of course 'Herbalife's' main share holder, Carl Icahn, is going to be Donald Trump's unofficial advisor on regulatory reform, so perhaps US law enforcement agents might investigate this massive act of alleged corruption?"

I added the word 'alleged' myself.

backaftera2yearbreak · 20/01/2017 17:42

Hi...new to the thread. Can I ask a question. Are MOA drinks and mlm thing? My friend us claiming it helped her fibromyalgia and her friend is claiming it helps lupus. Any thoughts?

Toobusytowee · 20/01/2017 17:49

Moa is a drink from Ariix. It is not a medicine so there should be no claims made about it. It is just a fruit drink. Ariix is an MLM

backaftera2yearbreak · 20/01/2017 17:51

Right. Thought as much.

Spongebobette · 20/01/2017 17:57

Oh it's Ariiiiiix and MOA is one of their products

Yes MLM !

MyCatsHateMLMtoo · 20/01/2017 21:50

Yes BS 'divvy' is a Scouse insult Grin. So an appropriate name for this MLM.

BSintolerant · 20/01/2017 23:28

mycats Are Divee shills called meffs? Grin

FromIbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 21/01/2017 09:26

I'm wondering how things are going to pan out in the hierarchy of FL top UK bots over the next year or so following a surprise announcement by No.1.

It's going to be tough keeping up the pace and holding on to that position when actually she should be relaxing and enjoying this time and this development in her family life.

I wonder if the ones further down the hierarchy see this as their chance to climb the ladder?

acatcalledjohn · 21/01/2017 09:52

Someone pregnant?

OP posts:
DoratheExplorer17 · 21/01/2017 10:12

Call me cynical, but doesn't a new baby open up opportunities to show how flexible it is to 'work your biznizz' with a little one? Meeting plenty more vulnerable new mummies on maternity leave and sucking them in?

Twunk · 21/01/2017 19:28

Well congratulations to her. I hope it all goes well.

I know I keep saying this but I am blocked by just about every bot, something of which I am very proud. Grin It does rather reduce the opportunity for snooping - CBA to use my pseudonym as I keep forgetting the password!

No Bot activity chez Twunk. I tell a lie, one of my friends bought the C9 from a bot-friend and is now onto something else FL-ish. She had a good manners to look embarrassed when she told me. She says the AV is revolting - I told her she could just take a laxative and eat less. 😂

Annie65 · 22/01/2017 15:40

Im a bit confused by No 1 bots pregnancy I hope everything goes ok, but how can she tell her baby is a girl if she is not due until the beginning of August???? I thought you had to be between 16 - 20 weeks before they can tell. Confused
