Yes and also I want to tell them to STOP SHOWING OFF!

DayToDayGlobalShit · 02/10/2016 14:31

Get prepared. There is a mahoosive JP convention in Bournemouth next weekend. Hurry for the last tickets at £60 per head. WTAF

smiinky · 02/10/2016 14:49

Spongebobette, I had to block the pages as they are so desperate, no likes or shares.
The only comment a friend has managed to garner on hers after two months of being 'botted up to the fucking eyeballs.' Is a 'get more leads' post from a spam bot. It's tragic.

Spongebobette · 02/10/2016 15:10

We've had 'eeeek'
We've had 'eeeep'

Now we have 'ekkk'

I cant believe I haven't seen this thread before!! I was once sucked in to forever living by an ex friend who seemed to do quite well on the earnings side of things and really well with her claims of weight loss through the c9, (I found out later she had a gastric band) she does the classic "look at how much weight I lost!" (with above head camera angle/pulling top tight behind me) selfie shot too....I never knew it was a trend. I thought I could sell the products like I did with Avon. Pop a book through the door of my neighbor's homes with an order form and collect a few days later with hopefully a few orders, of course that never happened. Then came the recruitment drive. But I'll be honest, I couldn't recruit people because I didn't believe in it. I couldn't even sell the tat because I knew it was over priced tat! and to be perfectly honest I made more money selling Avon. So I quit. Upon reflection I see how much of a pyramid it is, I have friends in with Arbonne, Younique, Actilabs and Juice plus and want to scream at them every time they hold a party/post a selfie or claim how amazing it is that one of their colleagues has got her mercedes/holiday to the moon which is clearly just fake.
I need to ask though. Is Avon up there with these other mlm companies? Avon have a completely different system to forever, and I always saw them as a direct selling company, rather than mlm.

smiinky · 02/10/2016 15:47

Avon wasn't originally mlm, but has been changed over the the mlm model because like all direct selling, online shopping has destroyed that market sector (whatever the bots say), but mlm does tend to extract more money from people than regular direct sales, so thats why they switched over. They do seem to be nowhere near as bad as the likes of some of them and the products are good and more affordable aren't they?

Babblehag · 02/10/2016 16:05

Well I think so personally, top price you'd pay for shampoo is £3, but its nearly always on offer. Fl's is £17 I think. And they sell over 400 different products every 3 weeks, there isn't the pressure to recruit, and Avon is advertised on tv. I hope it gets further away from mlm, I like Avon.

smiinky · 02/10/2016 16:10

the idea behind mlm is that the sales rep is actually the customer (even though they don't realise that). Sales don't tend to be made outside of the pyramid and reps are encouraged to bin their toiletries and make up and replace it with the mlms products. Thats a serious amount of money!
Whereas we all know people who get the Avon catalogue, buy regularly and aren't recruited.

Babblehag · 02/10/2016 16:36

That's true, with Avon there is no pressure to buy products. And more often than not you can fiddle a few freebies if they're on offer. You don't need to have parties to demo stuff either. Its all in the book. Forever left a very bitter taste in my mouth and wouldn't want to get tied up in something that was a con again. I know earnings aren't massive with Avon, but I like the products and it gets me out of the house.

Babblehag · 02/10/2016 16:46

Ooohh, I had lunch with a friend once who told me all about her business, (arbonne) and how friends of hers had the car, and that was what she was aiming for, she told me she'd spent £2,500 over the course of 2 years so she could showcase her products and go to business meetings etc, I asked her how much she'd earned, £150. How can she not see its a scam!!! I felt so bad for her, shes got young girls, they really saw her coming!!

Spongebobette · 02/10/2016 17:56

Màëllê bots are getting super excited about their launch party on 16 Oct. it's in a hotel at Heathrow. So glamorous hüns

But what's this? They have to pay 60 quid? To go to a party? And £119 for a room? And car parking is extra?

Böllôx

You forgot the VAT. Smile

Spongebobette · 02/10/2016 18:05

They think it's a party
It's not a party
It's a way to extract more money from them

PS being 'recognised' on stage, what the fuck it that all about? Walk across a stage and shake hands with the person ripping you off?

Ladiva1971 · 02/10/2016 19:46

I don't understand, how much bloody training do these people need??? It seems every other week they are at some kind of training, event / convention. I am a shift manager of a certain German supermarket, but I only went on one 2 week training course I may need a refresher day event if there are major changes, but that is it. Confused

Spongebobette · 02/10/2016 20:13

I bet you don't do s lot of whoop whoop whooping at your training Ladiva

Spongebobette · 02/10/2016 20:15

Oh and it's not 60 quid it's 75, just noticed.

Does your Company make you

  • go for training on a Saturday or Sunday?
  • make you pay for it? Ladiva
smiinky · 02/10/2016 22:06

It's never 'training' I do laugh at Forever bots when they post up a selfie 'just about to train 5000 entrepreneurs.'

When what they actually do is go on stage, talk about their 'journey', burst into tears (maybe hubby comes onstage during, with one day old child), then tell the bots how amazing Forever is and that they have to buy all of the wampum and go to all of the meetings and prospect all of the people.

Not like any training I've ever received.

Babblehag · 02/10/2016 22:34

Ohhh the "training" and "seminars" used to get asked if I could make such and such one in this place, all the time. Usually held at the weekend for the entire day, at least 2 county's away and costing money to get in. After refusing the first few times because I hadn't earned enough for my ticket, (I was determined to not pay out for more than my "business in a box") I soon realised that they held them on a fortnightly basis anyway, (maybe not every fortnight, but it felt like it) so I'd catch one, hopefully when I got a certificate and "promotion" to make it worth my while. Bunch of shit.

Spongebobette · 02/10/2016 22:48

A lot of 'trainings' are online aren't they Babble?

They look to me like one woman talking to a whole load of other, lower down, women about how amazing the business is

Babblehag · 02/10/2016 22:53

yeah, they were known as webinars, and they happened too often for my liking and it was usually the woman who claims to have made her millions with forever and not with the upteen spanish villas she rented out. uuuurrrrgggghhhh I was so bloody stupid!! I hate these companies now, the way theyre still ripping people off is disgusting.

Spongebobette · 02/10/2016 22:56

I noticed that a top FL bot who has just moved into her 'dream home' (and is sharing every little detail of all the money she's spending with her followers on FB) has announced she is recruiting.

The drop out rate must be phenomenal if a top bit needs to recruit constantly

cozietoesie · 02/10/2016 23:12

What's the general MLM 'churn' rate over a couple of years?

smiinky · 03/10/2016 01:24

Over 90% I think

penny1ane · 03/10/2016 07:35

I have noticed that a long standing top flp bot has been paying for ads on fb. (Friends with a well known comedian)
I think if the top bots are paying to advertise is a good sign it's getting harder to recruit. It must be getting last resort for them.
