Thanks CAM.

It's the old 'structured water' thing, Sponge.

cozietoesie · 03/08/2016 12:52

PS - do a search on 'hexagonal water' if you want to read some of the (very questionable) history.

CamelsAndMaus · 03/08/2016 13:18

Also search on "Kangen" and "ionised water" (or also "ionized water for non-UK people).

Thankfully the skin burns I got from being brave in the name of research for this thread have cleared up.

This is an interesting article, translated from Swedish so be aware that they writing style is somewhat disjointed at times.

However, persevere because it talks about the typical lies and deception that people are told about health benefits of taking aloe. A journalist buys the C9 to try and gets medical tests done first. Her doctor states that the supplements and drink won't help her lose any weight at all, eating less will do that. After the C9 a retest shows damage to the liver. Shocking stuff Shock. Here is the link.

Sponge, I'm not allowed to post at all on 'all things vacuous'. However, they have a Twitter thingy so I'll investigate that ...

Spongebobette · 03/08/2016 14:09

YouOKHun I've had a look on Twitter and their tweets are protected, meaning you have to request to follow them. I wonder if they'll let me. They have only tweeted twice and are following one person.

cozietoesie · 03/08/2016 14:12

I'd guess that that's not the way they would really want to use social media. Smile

keeptheaspidistra · 03/08/2016 16:56

Has the TV house move post gone?

rayofhope · 03/08/2016 18:11

mycats that swedish article is very interesting! Wonder how many other people's livers it may have affected?

imfinallyfree · 03/08/2016 18:38

Looks like Maëlle is registered with PETA, turns out you have to add the 2 dots above the e to find them Hmm

A friend shares some good old school VIZ stuff but this one seemed appropriate.

imfinally,

I think that TV have updated their article to reflect confirmation of that point.

WindyTriller · 03/08/2016 23:23

Aloe "slows the inflammatory cascade and can help reorder the immune response..." WTF? Confused

Windy not sure where you found that beauty; but that's Google translate at its best - I guess it was posted by someone who did not have English as their first language? As that is not just someone having a less than excellent grasp of written English (trust me, you wouldn't believe some of the examples I could give you from my time here).

darceybussell · 04/08/2016 07:55

That's highly illegal Windy, I'd report that to the ASA if they're in the UK!

CamelsAndMaus · 04/08/2016 09:03

The latest from my artificially acquired UNO bot. I think the tagline speaks for itself.

'Submit to the system'!

Deerking · 04/08/2016 10:54

That post about the C9 study is amazing! I think I'll be steering well clear of any aloe products considering how it can damage the liver.
Funny how all the specialists I see never mention the wonders of aloe for my own autoimmune condition, yet it has ~so~ many health benefits for autoimmune disorders...

ntp.niehs.nih.gov/ntp/htdocs/lt_rpts/tr577_508.pdf

This study is the one I reference with Bots. I did show it to one FL bot who said it didn't say anything [she could understand] and anyway she didn't need evidence from me because she'd been to FL presentations and they had bright colourful slides that said 'it was good for the whole system' and the man presenting had once stood next to a doctor so he should know and 'you're just a negative hater' (that's not verbatim you understand, I'm just pulling out key points from her argument). Upshot was she fully intended to recommend it to others as a general health boost (without recommending they run it by their GP first (who no doubt would tell them not to bother, or if they're taking certain meds for diabetes to keep well away). FL may distance themselves from 'health claims' but they're still responsible for the culture they've created which means the desperate bots will push anything on to anyone if it means a few £££ towards 'living the MLM dream'. Angry

YouOKHun · 04/08/2016 16:25

Sorry, I'm on a roll now. I'm sure you've all seen this skewering of the pro MLM argument but I think it's a good one www.vandruff.com/mlm.html

cozietoesie · 04/08/2016 20:43

That's some study, You. I'm afraid I only reached a third of the way through (approximately) before my brain seized but I'm glad of the reference for further study.

YouOKHun · 04/08/2016 21:02

Cozie, that's an impressive inroad you made into this study in one sitting!. I spent ages reading it despite research being part of my work. Still, it's clear that the authors are pretty adamant that AV is risky.

MyCatsHateMLMtoo · 04/08/2016 21:21

This is the summary on page 6 of the report. Pretty self-explanatory.
