Have you received a letter from HMRC or Concentrix? This is part 8 now. Have you had the dreaded letter demandeing evidence you live alone? Hopefully we can support each other and try and make sense of it all.

Mine was stopped as my daughter starts college and I didn't reply to a non existent letter they sent .I phoned tax credits and they said they will amend it .but still no decision on my case

MummyStruggler · 04/09/2016 15:32

I've still had no success with concentrix, my daughter back at school tomorrow (5th sept)does anyone know how to begin complaint process? My wages I did get went mostly on rent, I've sent in everything concentrix has asked for and when I do get through to someone all I'm told is that I have to wait! I've zero income till next payday, I cant even provide my child with pack lunch etc for school as for me I'm having to still walk 1hour and half to and from work.

janicejack · 04/09/2016 16:43

Thats awful mummy, how long have you been waiting. Im not sure how you start the complaint process but i would like to know as i have been waitinf since april but fortunately my payments haven't stopped

cashmoneyhoney · 04/09/2016 17:29

Mummy struggler
Are you able to contact your local MP?
That's a terrible situation to be in.
Or speak to your local council who might have a welfare rights team/C.A.B? Good luck

Julsmckie30 · 05/09/2016 12:51

I received a letter from Concentrix on 6th June 16 asking for bank statements and someone was living with me I live alone with my 2 kids. I ignored it as hadn't heard of them I was scared to send my bs to them. My tax credits have stopped 3 weeks past I've sent all documents to Concentrix but I recieved my annual declaration saying I owed them all my tax credits for last year please can someone talk and help I'm waiting on Concentrix I can't get through when I call and the tax credit hmrc are saying I need to chase Concentrix up please where do I go from here. A very worried mum. 😥

Allgoodnamesaretaken1 · 05/09/2016 13:53

Julsmckie30 At least you've sent your stuff now, so that's good. The annual declaration probably only says you owe money because HMRC haven't had confirmation from Concentrix that your claim was correct, so once Concentrix have checked all your documents and if your claim was correct, I would assume you won't owe the money back. I had the same check done and it took about 2 and a half months and came back fine. They do take ages to answer the phone though, if you have free/unlimited minutes I would just call them and keep the phone on loud speaker until they answer (I was on hold for about an hour once) because then you can just get on with doing stuff. They do say they prioritise people who have had their money stopped. Also, when you call, they should be able to give you the name of the person they say is registered at your address. Mine was because my Internet account was still in ex's name.

whirlygirly · 05/09/2016 16:20

Ah - just checked bank and looks like payment has stopped, can usually see it ready to go in on a Tuesday by now.
Im mildly hopeful this means it's all getting sorted one way or another. If I'm due to repay a chunk I want it out of the way.
Bloody fortunate that I can adjust hours at work to eliminate the need for much childcare. I'm sick of feeling nervous every time the postman arrives!!

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 05/09/2016 16:31

If they are checking your case and your money does not go in and you can't get into tax credits online then they hav found reason to end your claim and will want all the money back. It's seems they are stopping a lot of people's money without warning at the minute, I think because they are running out of time and clutching at straws, I did not have my money stopped but the best thing I did was to call and threaten to complain my case was looked at that day and closed, I had been waitin 3 months

whirlygirly · 05/09/2016 17:12

Do they ask for the entire amount back?? I definitely earn below the threshold and have sent a years worth of childcare receipts - it's just that the amount we used was lower than my prediction (and their confirmation the year before)
Even if I was slightly out, I'd be a bit up the creek if they asked for thousands back Shock

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 05/09/2016 17:35

Mine was to check my single claim was correct so if they, d found fault I would hav to pay it all back but probably different for child care and I would of thought it's just the excess u would hav to pay back

whirlygirly · 05/09/2016 18:08

Ah - thanks - that makes sense, I guess under those circumstances it would void the whole claim.

Hopefully nothing to worry about in that dept, have no financial links whatsoever to dp that they could dredge up, we live separately and run two very separate households (although planning to change this soon if we can, it's crazy).

Having said that, I have just noticed the water bill here is still in joint names with Xh even though he left 7 years ago.. Hmm

Julsmckie30 · 05/09/2016 18:10

I've went to my local mp who funnily enough had 4 cases to her office today all about Concentrix. I was assured that they have the power to directly contact this soul destroying company. I am awaiting the result of my mp getting involved but I have to stress I live in a very small community and the chances of 4 single mums visiting this office in 1 day is a chance of 1 in a billion. This company needs brought to attention of news. Papers. Mps they are absolute animals I was told from my local welfare rights office. 😡😡

Julsmckie30 · 05/09/2016 18:12

There is a Twitter page #concentrixmaking familieslivesintopoverty. It's getting quite a load of media attention.

Shouldstartaprotest16 · 05/09/2016 19:16

Whirlygirl get that water bill changed ASAP , the whole things such a pain but really us worth calling and threatening them a bit with a complaint,

whirlygirly · 05/09/2016 20:20

Should start, you're right, will do tomorrow (they've just closed!) All the contact details are mine, it's just his name on the account still. Not worth the hassle if they pick that up..

Nicolad06 · 06/09/2016 14:01

I got my letter beginning of June sent info off June 18th, payments stopped June 22nd, they state they didn't receive my documents till July 4th due to a back log scanning in! Still waiting for it to be looked at 😞 one very poor single mum, my savings are now depleted due to childcare of £230 a week, after ringing numerous times and being fobbed off not sure what else to do

mamamiaa · 06/09/2016 14:46

Nicola, was your letter about childcare

Julsmckie30 · 06/09/2016 15:37

Nicola go to your local mp I have there has been people waiting in excess of 16 weeks me and my 2 kids will be in severe hardship in next 2 weeks of this ain't resolved. It's a complete joke picking on defenseless single mums best of it is it's our kids money not even ours best of luck to you. 😡😡😡😡 xx

whirlygirly · 06/09/2016 17:05

Now this is weird. Thought payment had stopped but checked account a moment ago and it's showing as a pending credit for tomorrow - has been Tuesday for past year so has moved a day from this week. Amount not changed.

I think I'm going to shove it straight into a separate account for when they inevitably ask for it back.

Changed the water bill today! Thanks for the shove Smile

MummyStruggler · 07/09/2016 09:46

@janicejack I've been waiting over 5weeks now, I didn't receive any letter from concentrix, my paynents just stopped when i contacted hmrc first time they told me concentrix stopped tax credits because i got partner living with me which is a lie only my daughter and i live in my home, when i got through to concentrix they told me to send in bank statements council tax etc which i did they received my documents on 16th august and now its a back and fourth situation with them! Cleary i dont have a partner let alone a partner living with me i dont understand why its taking concentrix so long to reinstate my paynents, Im not coping well without my tax credits and still looking for a complaints department or something because its a waste of time being on the phone with concentrix when you do get through to someone they are useless as if reading from a script not bothered that because of them now in hardship so long they've met their poxy targets Sad
@_cashmoneyhoney, My local CAB has shut down

Julsmckie30 · 07/09/2016 12:38

My update today 7/916. I receive a letter dated the 18th August the day my last to payment was direct from hmrc? Not Concentrix saying u recently told us of a change so your tax credits have stopped saying I owe the whole last year tc, this letter is straight from hmrc Preston not Concentrix does this mean Concentrix have said I'm lying about being single parent?? No documents back from Concentrix or letter but this letter direct from hmrc Preston saying I recently reported a change ?? Anyone advice??? 😳

NordicNoirRocks · 08/09/2016 12:04

Can I make changes to my claim whilst being investigated by Concentrix? I need to change my childcare provider and costs.

I'm being investigated for childcare costs, they received my documents on 6th June and I've not had a decision yet.

Hugppugo3 · 08/09/2016 12:15

So had a letter from concentrix sent bank statements had my claim reinstated only to ring tuesday and for them to tell me concentrix has cancelled my claim since october an i have to pay everything back had a letter today to say im not entitled to tax credits what is going

Hugppugo3 · 08/09/2016 12:59

Yes you can ring tax credits and notify them of any change

whirlygirly · 08/09/2016 17:13

Nordic, exactly same here. Called hmrc to do it and they said I'd need to call concentrix and referred to a complaint I'd made last May. (I had no idea what they were talking about but now remember that they'd sent someone else's personal details in with my letter and I'd phoned and had a go at them for breaching data protection, how that's relevant now I'm not sure!)

Anyway, when I finally got through to concentrix (set a morning aside for this, I'm not joking) a nice lady took details of the new amount and provider and said she'd note my file.

So I'm still waiting on the decision that's normally made in July. Confused
