This is simply magnificent. Laughter is the best antidote to these scams.

FWIW - My admiration to you all.

Hi

My twitter feed is full of wonderful biz opportunities

"Did you know that Parsley is a SUPERFOOD + parsley used by Timeless Vie is 500x stronger than normal? Parsley4health"

I think that should be:

"parsley used by Timeless Vie is UP TO 1000x stronger than normal?"

:)

stopfaffing · 27/09/2015 21:34

Should be "strongerer" Wink

acatcalledjohn · 27/09/2015 21:40

I have been living on shit for a while, and today's dinner (KFC Bucket for One don't judge me) made me feel positively awful. I posted a status about it on FB. Cue FL-bot responding.

I am quite a nice person, unless bullshit is involved, in which case I am pretty to the point.

Thing is, I rate this person. Very sweet, good natured and good fun. She's just been taken in by marketing bollocks but am I fuck going to sugar coat this shit.

Have I been too harsh?

Nothing short of this level of blunt response is likely to work, acatcalledjohn. I fear that, although your friend is probably quite taken aback right now by how negative you've been, there was nothing else you could do. I sincerely hope for her own self-esteem that she doesn't take this as a 'definite maybe' and start chasing you down, or it really will come to 'JUST FUCKING FUCK OFF' as the only possible response.

BlueBlueBelles · 27/09/2015 22:05

Aaaah im so glad to have found this thread.

One of my intelligent, educated, lovely friends has become a younique bot.

Every single post is about the wonderful lashes, the amazing concealer. Which is complete bullshit - looking at the before and after pictures I get the same result with a £10 bottle of max factor mascara and foundation.

I'm that close to blocking her, which is sad, because some of her posts used to be fab.

acatcalledjohn · 27/09/2015 22:14

Trib; I got the 'I don't mind negative feedback but I actually genuinely like the products'.

So if 'all' she wants is to improve her own health and fitness, why is she ramming FL down everyone else's throats at the first opportunity? WTF is aloe vera going to do about a one-off KFC?

Hopefully your directness about the 'clever' concept called shilling your mates will prevent her from being too overt about her recruitment drive. We can but hope.

lazycoo · 27/09/2015 23:18

What else can you do though, cat? This is tough love. This person needs to hear this. Well done for being brave enough to be that guy.

lazycoo · 27/09/2015 23:21

Thanks for your thoughts on the in-joke thing. I had written that before my first coffee of the day. It's clearly absolutely fine the way it is

ShebaShimmyShake · 27/09/2015 23:28

Until my FL bots started, I didn't know you could eat aloe vera, I thought you just applied it to your skin. Never heard of bee pollen before either. Still don't know what it is. Bees don't produce pollen.

I have found myself wavering over C9 as they all swear blind they've lost ridiculous numbers of inches in a week (I don't care about water weight loss but inches is interesting) but at the end of the day I don't have £250 to blow on aloe vera gel and bee pollen, whatever the fuck it is, and I can't see myself having the discipline to stick to such a miserable regime, even if it is for just nine days and will turn me into Megan Fox.

I know lots of people who keep bees and sell honey, who are dressmakers, who are craftspeople (real ones who sell beautiful handmade jewellery, wood turned goods, paintings etc) and so on. I don't really know why I have so much more respect for them than for the FL/Juice Plus/Younique people.

lastuseraccount123 · 27/09/2015 23:29

lazy actually you articulated something that's concerning me, so, yeah.

What is the eczema cure that is advertised on local Facebook sites? No description just pictures that 'show' how amazing it is on a baby accompanied by text to say inbox me for more details.

LittleMissStubborn · 28/09/2015 07:25

Does anyone know how much the c9 costs?

JustRosieHere · 28/09/2015 07:28

C9 is about £110. My FLbot is always flogging that and has done it herself twice yet her before and after photos looks the same.

BoGrainger · 28/09/2015 07:39

I've been suckered into attending a Younique party tomorrow. I'm going to spread the word about TV and the benefits of parslai.

Tokelau · 28/09/2015 08:07

I now have an FLbot, but I'm a bit sad about it. She is a lovely, genuine person, and I'm annoyed that she's been sucked into this rubbish.

I'm hoping she won't start posting all that rubbish on Facebook. There have only been four posts so far. In the first one she says how she has been suffering from an autoimmune condition for the last few years, but surprise surprise, FL has made her feel better again. In the second she says that her order is going in soon. In the third, the order has arrived and she has posted a picture of the bottles. In the fourth, there is a picture of her in gym clothes looking very fit and healthy. She claims it's all down to FL, but I've known her for quite a few years and she's always looked like that.

Acat I think your response to the detox woman was perfect.

ShebaShimmyShake · 28/09/2015 09:42

Hey, my FL bot was charging £250 for C9. PRICE WAR!!

tribpot · 28/09/2015 09:56

Whether it's 110 or 250, you could surely achieve the same results (basically nil but let's say) just by juicing for a week, surely. Whereas the almighty X-Purge 11 can cause you to lose half your body fat in under an hour. Totally proven scientific fact.

JustRosieHere · 28/09/2015 10:03

Had a quick google and there is c9 and also C9, fit1 and fit 2 which in total is a 69 day plan. Perhaps that accounts for the price differences? Surely you could just eat healthy for 69 days without paying out for aloe Vera gel etc and lose a significant amount of weight.

LittleMissStubborn · 28/09/2015 10:19

So even at £110 it is a nice money earner for all involved, esp as there is probably something like a 90% mark up. No surprise they push that. 2 or 3 people doing that are you are well towards meeting your targets earning your cc's.

lazycoo · 28/09/2015 10:27

These cleanse cons are a good little money earner for those at the top - the cut the Bots make is a bit of a mystery and depends on volume selling within arbitrarily defined periods.

I'm going to do ten days of juicing from 1 October as I last did this after my c-section and it helped me feel better but I'm under no illusions that I'll turn into Cameron Diaz or lose anything other than a bit of water weight. I'm completely hocked up on painkillers, coffee and sugar at the moment.

All my money will be going to Aldi and the greengrocer. I'll keep a note of how I get on and how much money it costs me to, yano, actually do a detox without eating a plant not typically used for human oral consumption.

tribpot · 28/09/2015 10:37

Maybe Cameron Diaz hopes she'll turn into you if she does a cleanse, lazycoo :) (I'll admit this is probably unlikely but don't rule it out).
