Oh @Babyghirl you are so brave, my heart breaks for what you have had to go through, its just so tough x I hope you find some support through this group, we are all in this together 💪🏽 and we can get through!!

@Scottishskifun so sorry to hear of your week, its so heartbreaking saying goodbye but hope it brings some closure. ❤️ Its great your going to counselling, do you feel like it helps? Xxx

Babyghirl · 26/02/2021 10:42

@jam27
@jujujuberry
Thank you its been a long winding Rd 4 weeks today from I starting bleeding and my period is on its way I have been lucky that my cycle goes bck to normal after my miscarriages sorry to hear what other girls have been through but also in a weird way calming to know I'm not on my own. At school we learnt have sex once and you will get pregnant they never once told us the long Rd it can be for so many women xx

AlbiMix · 26/02/2021 10:42

@Jujujuberry nice to have someone at a similar stage, I'm also going to wait until a first period to DTD I think, unless it takes ages. I just want to see some normality in my cycle, some kind of clue that things are going in the right direction. With the temping I got confused because I tried it twice in a row when I bought the thermometer to test it and it gave me very different temps Hmm I've downloaded fertility friend because knowing me I'd lose the piece of paper so I'm better off with an app haha.

Good luck if you do book something appointment wise, I'm going to look into it too, will be interesting to compare notes on where we get!

Babyghirl · 26/02/2021 10:47

@albimix
Thank you, I was taking my temp you take it same time every morning before getting out off bed or moving to much I took it vaginal as taking it from mouth can be mixed as if u sleep with mouth open can take your reading off, put it in to ff and they will give you ur cross hair when you have had a raised temp for 3 days straight, but make sure u have had a solid 3 or more hours sleep for it to be accurate good luck 💚🍀

Hi ladies,
I've been catching up with our lovely thread every week or so and it moves so fast! Sorry to see new people joining, it's so hard. And hi to everyone with beast periods... my second one post-miscarriage was definitely much longer lasting than usual.

So I'm 1DPO and DH and I have really gone for it this cycle (cycle 3 if you include the ovulation straight after the mc that they saw ready to go on the scan). Last time we conceived cycle 3 after the miscarriage in August, so maybe my body gets to be ready by then?

I'm a bit frustrated with the private investigations that we are having... @Jujujuberry we have gone through Professor Regan's clinic at St Mary's and I've had the first lot of blood tests then a scan booked for 10th of March, but not actually meeting her for a consultation until April. It just seems slow. And being 40 now I can't bear to waste any months holding off.

It's sad thinking that there aren't many goes left to get the 2021 baby that we thought we would have. The due date for the pregnancy we conceived in August is coming up in April... so sad for what could have been. And I'm still finding it stops me in my tracks and I have to stop tears. Trying to keep faith that we are all exactly where we are supposed to be and that the baby we have in the end will be the one meant for us x

Babyghirl · 26/02/2021 12:14

@glowingtwig
I'm 37 coming 38 so I have nt got much time left, but I also know someone who was 47 thought she was going through the menapose and Was pregnant with her first child so miracles can happen xx

glowingtwig · 26/02/2021 12:43

@Babyghirl I was 38 when I had my little girl ❤️ lots of time left xx

Neady1980 · 26/02/2021 12:51

@glowingtwig I'm the same as you, I'm 40 and first pregnancy ended in miscarriage in January. I'm still shocked I got pregnant after being told since the age of 16 that it was impossible.
I'm cd11 normally ovulate around day 12 or 14 so we are going to give it our all this month and hopefully we will be successful.
Fingers crossed for you

glowingtwig · 26/02/2021 13:29

And for you @Neady1980 you got pregnant once- you can do it again... maybe it's your body having a practice run and then next one will be the one! That's how I felt when I was pregnant with my little one anyway. Sending loads of luck for this next cycle.

Also, was just thinking... look at us all on here, so knowledgeable about our bodies and doing everything we can to conceive this next little baby. It won't be long before the BFPs start rolling in x

Babyghirl · 26/02/2021 13:33

@glowingtwig
I have no kids yet so I'm hoping my body will do what it's supposed to do cause at the min I feel a failure and half the woman I was before all the losses my period is on its way its lurking in the bck ground I'm crampy it's 4 weeks to the day I started bleeding from the miscarriage so my body seems to be on track straight away as it has been after all my losses xx

SuzieDeLaTour · 26/02/2021 15:03

@KJLM how did your check up go? Did the monster period hit?

@Scottishskifun gosh what a hard day for you yesterday. Sounds like you picked a beautiful spot to say goodbye. Definitely listen to your counsellor and take it easy - no piling on the pressure. Sending you big virtual hugs x
@Jujujuberry hey love, I’m seeing my consultant tomorrow for some genetic test results. They sent off the tissue so I could get a definitive answer about what caused it. I’ll also find out whether it was a boy or girl 🙁 feeling very nervous! Almost feel like do I actually want to know what went wrong and will it fill me with anxiety going forwards!? Arrrghhh!!
@Babyghirl welcome to our group. I’m so sorry to hear you’ve had such a long and difficult journey. I hope that you get the support / answers you need from the fertility clinic. We are all here in the meantime! X

Babyghirl · 26/02/2021 15:25

@suziedelatour
Thank you very much just helps to know ur not alone and talking to people who have been through it really helps knowing they understand where your coming from sorry you been through the same thing x

Babyghirl · 26/02/2021 15:37

@suziedelatour
Good luck for tomara and hope everything goes OK also know why u would be dreading it but hopefully it gives you some comfort on moving forward x

MeganChar1 · 26/02/2021 15:54

Just had my Covid vaccine (I work in healthcare) and got asked if I was pregnant which they ask everyone, I couldn’t help feeling a bit triggered, as when the vaccines first came out I was still pregnant therefore thought I was going to be exempt for a while Sad.

Separately from this I also had a doctors appointment earlier and they have picked up an infection from some swabs I had done after the d&c, but also they’ve said I’m positive for group strep B as well which will have been there before the pregnancy. I never knew this before, could this have contributed to my mc? I suppose it’s useful information for next time x

SuzieDeLaTour · 26/02/2021 16:32

@Babyghirl you are definitely not alone - we all know exactly how the other feels. I find this group so so helpful!
@MeganChar1 oh triggers like that are horrid 🙁 I feel like you, keep thinking of stuff that I wouldn’t be doing as I’d be pregnant / nearing my due date etc and it’s all been snatched away. I think it’s good you had tests and they’ve spotted you’re positive for group strep B as you’ll now know for future pregnancies. Hope you’re feeling ok after your vaccine x

AMS19 · 26/02/2021 17:12

@glowingtwig good to hear from you!! I have absolutely everything crossed for you. I'm now technically in my 3rd cycle but this is the first one post a proper period so hoping for more success!

@SuzieDeLaTour I will be thinking about you tomorrow xx

@AMS19 thanks lovely Smile

Babyghirl · 26/02/2021 17:57

@meganchar1
I had my vaccine booked and had to cancel on the day cause I found out I was pregnant also work for NHS so rebooked it and had it last Tuesday was also asked the same question did nt know wat way to look as I have just miscarriaged just over 2 weeks prior. Hard to answer questions like that isn't it. 💚

AlbiMix · 26/02/2021 18:09

Hi all, interesting talk of vaccines, I had a similar thing as I'm on immunosuppressants so I was offered the vaccine and my GP told me to take it but when I showed up on the day, they refused because I was six weeks pregnant. It was annoying but I'm actually glad because if I'd had it I might have wondered if it contributed to the MC. I'm now going to have the vaccine this weekend - hope everyone is feeling ok after theirs.

@MeganChar1 interesting about the infections, it's good you know now and can get it sorted. I wondered if I might have had something like BV and it they might have contributed to my MC - going to ask the GP if I can get some swabs at some point just in case.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone, this group has been a massive support for me in my first week post MC Flowers I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

LostFox82 · 26/02/2021 22:03

@AlbiMix I’m on immunosuppressants too for rheumatoid arthritis- I’m having my vaccine this weekend. I’ll get my self prepared for the question.
I’ve always wondered whether my drugs caused miscarriage- but guess I’ll never know 😔

@MeganChar1 I had a swab after erpc and they told me I had strepB was also concerned it could have caused miscarriage although I can’t find much on it other than being given antibiotics if you get to labour if they know you’ve got it but most women’s never know they have it and it doesn’t effect baby. It doesn’t sound like they do much about it so no point worrying, it’s just something we’ll need to tell midwife if/when we conceive again

AlbiMix · 26/02/2021 23:20

@LostFox82 I don't think immunosuppressants necessarily cause problems in pregnancy, maybe it depends which ones but as far as I know they shouldn't be a cause for miscarriage. With my illness it's often riskier for the fetus if the mum comes off the meds and risks being ill, than if she stays taking them. But if you're worried definitely worth checking with your specialists if it could be a factor. Good luck with your vaccine!

AMS19 · 27/02/2021 06:41

Morning ladies. So interesting to hear so many getting the vaccine. My GP has told me j would have to stop TTC for 3 months if I have it which I'm not willing to do. I work from home full time now so not at any risk really. Hopefully over the next few months the data from the US will show the impact it can have and women can start to make informed decisions!

OP posts:
dippyegg32 · 27/02/2021 07:03

I haven't been offered the vaccine yet. I'm a teacher so would absolutely love it ASAP especially schools going back so soon but yes been told similar @AMS19 that ttc would have to be halted for 2-3 months after second vaccine so that's 5-6 months altogether. Whilst we haven't decided whether to ttc or not that would take the decision out of my hands and I'm a control freak. So until I'm offered it innocence is bliss.

AMS19 · 27/02/2021 07:14

@dippyegg32 its such a long time isn't it! I was told even after the first dose I should stop. I think for me personally having had the miscarriage I would never take the risk now, so if I had it would definitely prevent getting pregnant. I couldn't live with another miscarriage or birth defect wondering if it could have been caused from the vaccine. My stress levels on a new pregnancy would be off the scale enough! But like I say, I'm lucky to work from home so relatively protected from it all!

Ralala · 27/02/2021 07:23

We are going to keep ttc regardless of covid and the vaccine. Scotland is further behind than England so will be a little while before I’m offered it.
