@Ralala yay! Proper cycle buddies!!
Period has been SO heavy and I'm absolutely delighted with it. I've reset my apps to today being CD1 and so 11-13 days from now should hopefully be ovulating! I've also got follow up bloods with EPU Friday. 2 weeks ago today they were 9 exactly. I'm hoping given this period I've had and the time passed since they will now be much closer to 0! 🤞🤞

Hello to all our lovely new ladies. Sorry you’re here with us but I really hope we can help you.

@Madeoftea and @Blondiebrownie6 both of your posts absolutely broke my heart and we all know exactly how you feel. I had to wait a week between scans to find out if the pregnancy was ‘viable’ or not (was approx. 8 weeks and had been bleeding) which was honestly the hardest 7 days of my life and there were some mornings I woke up and just couldn’t see how I would get through the day as I was just in this awful, awful limbo. Every morning, in fact. I also felt so alone as it’s just such an incredibly lonely, isolating experience. I’m really glad you’ve found us though as I really think it’s therapeutic to write down how you’re feeling and get advice from those of us who’ve been in the same (really shit) boat. I had an ERPC so unfortunately I can’t help but I know other ladies will be able to. All I can say is that you’ve both already demonstrated how strong you are and you will get through this, and we’re here to help you along the way.

@AlbiMix, @14down, @LostFox82, @Badlydrawngirly just wanted to say hello and welcome as I don’t think I have yet xxxx

@Jam291 hope you’re okay. Just to say all of our cycles generally speaking have been all over the shop since miscarriage so please don’t think that isn’t normal. I guess all you can do is wait a couple of days and test again? But if not it could be a slightly longer cycle which is normal after a MC. Keep us updated xxx

@MeganChar1 no way are you being over the top. Please let us know how you get on and if they offer any advice xxx

TheHotelCalifornia · 24/02/2021 20:51

Ladies I just have to share - I got my crosshairs on FF!! I'm honestly over the moon. I really feel like my body is doing what it needs to do and it just needed time. A lot of time, but hey I guess that's okay. I started getting EWCM on Saturday which was insanely exciting and then finally my OPKS started getting a second line. Got my peak Sunday which I was so happy about, and then a big temp rise today has confirmed ovulation. I'M SO RELIEVED. We didn't try this cycle so don't get excited at my chart haha. I'm actually glad we didn't because I'm so excited for a fresh chapter on CD1. Not sure when AF will come but hopefully in the next week or so I'll be on my first proper cycle and we can start trying again.

So new ladies if anyone is worrying about how long everything is taking post MC please don't. If I get my period in the next week or so it'll be 7 ish weeks post MC and I was about 8.5 weeks again (I actually don't think about the exact date/haven't worked it out as it'll upset me). But I honestly think there is no 'normal' and all of our bodies are different. This cycle I'm going to be taking AC, B6, B complex with added Vitamin D and folic acid every day. Would really like to try and shorten my cycle a bit and the AC did bring ovulation forward the cycle I got my lovely BFP but after this insanely long cycle I'm going to try the B6 too.

@AMS19 congratulations on your heavy period!! Didn't think I'd be saying that to you but here we are! Hope you're doing okay lovely xxx

@SuzieDeLaTour Thankyou ❤️ Yes the limbo stage is awful , I keep thinking right get yourself together then I just get swamped
With thoughts and what could have been!! I feel like my fertility journey has been a rollercoaster already with so much waiting for treatment due to covid (then this happening and falling pregnant naturally!!) that I know I’ll see it as another blip in time! Its just raw now but even I know it will get easier. It’s great to see stories of ladies getting their cycles and ready to go again :)

@TheHotelCalifornia all those emotions are just spot on! It’s such a weird time! I always knew it could be an outcome but honestly can’t believe it’s actually happening and we’re going through it ! The waiting between scans is terrible and for you having to wait a week must have been so hard :( I should have been 8+2 but was 2 wks behind , despite a heartbeat , I knew it was too far off as I tracked everything so closely but hung to a glimmer of hope but I knew in my heart what was coming.

The last few mornings I’ve had that split second of feeling....this can’t be real....but it is :( i think with covid/lockdown it just feels all that more difficult too! I Thankyou for your kind message and you are right these threads and discussion are helpful , they’ve certainly helped me today xx

Badlydrawngirly · 24/02/2021 21:45

@TheHotelCalifornia hello! Thanks for the welcome, I’ve found this group so helpful while in this (as you quite rightly say) really shit boat!

@Blondiebrownie6 and @Madeoftea I’m so sorry for your losses. I also had an ERPC so can’t offer much advice I’m afraid. I had quite a lot of pain afterwards and ended up on antibiotics for a suspected infection but it was the best decision for me as I wasn’t showing any signs of things resolving naturally and we wanted to have the fetus tested. I know it will be heartbreak all over again but I hope we get some answers.

AlbiMix · 24/02/2021 22:10

Hi @TheHotelCalifornia and thanks for the welcome. Congrats on your getting your cycle back where it should be fingers crossed for your AF soon! Right now I'm worried about when mine will return to normal so your post was encouraging. I just feel really un-menstrual right now if they makes sense, like I'm afraid absolutely nothing is going on in there after my MC and it'll all be messed up Sad why is it we're always waiting for something, whether it's ovulation, AF, BFN, BFP, scans...?!?! I feel like no one ever teaches us about what a colossal pain this entire reproduction thing is. Anyway really glad for you Grin

SuzieDeLaTour · 24/02/2021 22:18

Ok a question for the ladies who have had full on periods post MC (I’m pretty sure someone mentioned a full on period but I’m so sorry I can’t remember who!) - how heavy was the bleeding? I started spotting on Sat, carried on like that on Sunday and then it hit me with full force first thing Monday. I thought it was tailing off as it wasn’t too heavy last night but has seriously ramped up again today. I suffer fairly heavy periods but this is on another level - I’m soaking through pads with it trickling down my thighs (sorry for the grim description!) and there are small clots (smaller than a one pound coin). Anyone else had this? I didn’t get a period after my last MMC as I conceived straightaway so I have no idea if this is normal for me!

Neady1980 · 24/02/2021 23:07

@SuzieDeLaTour I had a full blown period, the very 1st one after MC and I also bleed heavy but this one was unreal. I went through packets of pads and I had a lot of clots, alot bigger than what I would normally get. I actually had to stay in bed for a few days with it. Thankfully they are finished now. If you think your bleeding too much I would get it checked. I honestly didnt know what to expect.
Hope it eases soon for you x

dippyegg32 · 25/02/2021 05:37

@SuzieDeLaTour my periods are very light so compared to what you and @Neady1980 described my interpretation of heavy is obviously skewed. It was my normal length of four days with the first 12 hours soaking green tampax every 2-3 hours but by day 2 that would last 4-8 hours and day 4 I didn't need anything. Personally I'd be going to epu with that amount of blood but it's an assessment of what's in the realm of normal for you x

TheDaydreamBelievers · 25/02/2021 06:50

@SuzieDeLaTour mime was unusually light . If you ever go through a pad in under an hour you should call the EPU and out of hours

Tealchoc · 25/02/2021 07:25

@SuzieDeLaTour mine was heavy too. I spotted for 6 days then wham! I normally have heavy periods but this is a lot heavier, I feel ok otherwise though e.g. not dizzy so think it’s just a good clear out. X

AMS19 · 25/02/2021 07:34

@TheHotelCalifornia that is a lovely temp rise and definitely ovulation, well done body! In 2 weeks you will be in a lovely new cycle full of hope ❤❤

@SuzieDeLaTour my period has been extremely heavy for me. Definitely lots of clots and changing a heavy duty pad everyone 2-3 hours. Maybe not as much as you've described but like @dippyegg32 my periods were SO light before this is very heavy for me. I had 4 days of spotting, hardly anything but there the whole time. Spotting was enough to have a reasonable amount on a pad Tuesday then Wednesday morning was when I massively picked up. Head yesterday and today so hence reset my CD1 to yesterday. Its so so good having a proper clear out! I'm back to EPU tomorrow for final bloods. 2 weeks yesterday since my HCG was 9 and 8 weeks today since my MVA so really hoping it's as close to 0 as possible 🙏

Lots of love to all xx

Heavy not head

OP posts:
LostFox82 · 25/02/2021 07:49

@SuzieDeLaTour what you’ve decribed is like a normal period for me, I’m a bit scared the first one I’ve just started might be horrific!
Normal periods for me I use biggest tampon and a pad at worst point I change every hour and sit on loo in between and it ‘pours’ out! Sorry tmi. This only lasts 1-2 days though. But it also has clots. Then eases to more manageable.
They can very easily prescribe you something to ease bleeding that sorts it straight out I use it something for normal periods (can’t tenner name of it), so I’d call gp today and get that. Main thing is not letting yourself get anaemic - do you feel faint?
Hope it’s better today for you xx

SuzieDeLaTour · 25/02/2021 07:58

Morning ladies, thank you for all your replies ❤️ It’s good to hear that I’m not alone with the ridiculously heavy bleeding! @Neady1980 I haven’t had to stay in bed thankfully as feeling ok otherwise - that sounds pretty awful you for you you poor thing!
@dippyegg32 @TheDaydreamBelievers it’s been a little better overnight but I’ll see how I go this morning and if it gets worse again I’ll call EPU and see what they say. I had to change a heavy flow pad every 1.5-2 hours yesterday so hoping that was it’s peak Confused
@Tealchoc I’m feeling ok with it too, no dizziness, tummy cramps etc so hoping it’s just a good clear out. I wonder why they’re so heavy post MC?! I would have thought that the op would have pretty much removed everything possible!
@AMS19 I was like you you, spotting at first then BAM! oh fingers crossed for your bloods tomorrow - I’m sure the monster period will do the trick and your levels are down. I hope you’re feeling ok with yours x

SuzieDeLaTour · 25/02/2021 08:29

@LostFox82 ahh sorry my phone didn’t load your message. Gosh I thought I had heavy periods normally but yours sound on another level you poor thing! Thanks for the advice re medication, I had no idea anything like that existed Smile it seems a little less heavy this morning - I also had it literally just pouring out in the loo yesterday too but that’s eased off. Not feeling faint so hopefully everything is ok. Thanks for your advice / help! X

Jujujuberry · 25/02/2021 08:42

@SuzieDeLaTour yay for your negative FRER!! Such a relief, now you can crack on!! Haha. Awesome, yes let us know if you do decide to go for an acupuncture appointment sometime 😊

@PlantMummy87 I’m looking forward to hearing how you get on with your acupuncture!

Tealchoc · 25/02/2021 08:43

@SuzieDeLaTour I’m glad you are feeling ok apart from the bleeding. I know what you mean, it is a bit strange how so much has built up already in there but I guess we have to trust our bodies know what they are doing. It’s reassuring that many others are also experiencing a heavy af x

Jujujuberry · 25/02/2021 08:52

For all the ladies with beast periods, you make me laugh!! I can’t wait for my first one, though I hope it lives up to the name!! My periods are normally very light, would use the menstural cup and change it every 4hrs over 2 days, then 1-2 liners for the next 2-3 days. Went out with a friend tonight and had my first gin and tonic since December, felt a bit tipsy! 🙃

Pettylamby · 25/02/2021 09:59

Hi ladies!!

So... Looks like I was right about my ghost period and subsequent ovulation!

Heading for my peak today by the looks of it (please don't judge my POAS obsession)... Planning just to dip an opk everytime I go to the loo today! Anyone else find it really interesting to watch the pattern? You can tell I'm off work today with little else to do!

We have been dtd every 2nd day for a week so dtd last night and two days before that and hoping for tomorrow morning too! 🤞🏻

At the moment tho my slight panic is late ovulation... When I got my bfp I ovulated day 22 but it ended in MMC... So now worried about late ovulation and egg quality! Have turned to Google as usual and now I wish I hadn't! Anyone have any knowledge on the subject?

Hope all the ladies having their beast periods are feeling okay, I'm hoping for one next cycle as Im not holding out hope for this one!

AMS19 · 25/02/2021 10:13

@Pettylamby look at those lines!!! I reckon your last one is your peak already, it just won't day peak on premom until it goes back now. That is 100% positive. How exciting! Remind me, are you trying?

I wouldnt worry about late ovulation. I haven plenty of friends who have fallen successfully pregnant with late ovulation!

OP posts:
dippyegg32 · 25/02/2021 10:19

Exciting @Pettylamby!! Total opposite here I'm heading for realllly early ovulation, only cd7 but all the signs already

Pettylamby · 25/02/2021 10:19

@AMS19 oh yes defo positive but will get darker.. My highest one ever hit 3.05 so just interested to see how high it goes this time! Love to POAS!

Yeah we are trying, haven't had a real period and wasn't going to but this is my second ovulation since my MVA(8 weeks ago now) and I just couldn't bare to let it go without trying so here we are!

AMS19 · 25/02/2021 10:31

Yeah definitely go for it! Im 8 weeks today passed MVA and definitely ready. This is pretty much the last shot of a 2021 baby!

Ralala · 25/02/2021 11:37

My period is an absolute beast! I was in the shower today and it was running down my legs! Lots of clots and some questionable tissue like pieces . Thankfully EPU said this was all normal for a post MC period. The uterus will have a good clear out and apparently it’s a really good sign of returning fertility. I can’t share the doctors enthusiasm about my beast period to be honest as I’m literally going through night time maxi pads every 2 hours or so BUT roll on popping that egg in 14 days!
