@Pettylamby it's definitely worth taking a test! But as a slight caveat I had loads of ewcm last month and a huge temp spike to show id ovulated but that can still happen with low levels of HCG in your system. What type of test did you get a negative on? Or was it a blood test?

AMS19 · 24/02/2021 06:35

Morning ladies! So update from me, after 4 days of spotting period has come with full force today! I'm over the moon! Clearly spotting from 9DPO isn't ideal at all but I'm hoping it's just my body adjusting. I feel a million times better about TTC this cycle now. I've reset today as CD1 - @SuzieDeLaTour we can still be cycle buddies but I might be a day or two behind you now! 😘😘😘 xx

@Pettylamby tbh we weren’t going to try until first cycle but got a bit carried away on Valentine’s Day! It was only once so doubt anything will come of it. As that was only week and but ago I guess I’ll wait 2 weeks like we would on a normal cycle and test then if period doesn’t come first.

@dippyegg32 it was a boots pregnancy test nothing fancy that I got neg result on 3 weeks after erpc but as I say there was a vvfl after 10 mins (it says only read result up to 5 mins) so I took that as neg.

If I start trying ovulation tests when I get my period what would you recommend?

Thanks x

dippyegg32 · 24/02/2021 07:06

Oh @AMS19 this is such good news. The beast has arrived!! Cd6 for me so we'll be close too.

@LostFox82 I've used the green onestep cheapies for ovulation which do the job. I've run out though and decided not to buy more!

LostFox82 · 24/02/2021 07:10

@Pettylamby I meant to say good luck with this cycle!
@Badlydrawngirly what a horrible weekend you had I’m sorry. My partner and I argue a lot, and say hurtful things and talk about separating. It’s so draining on top of what you’re going through. Have you made up? Sometimes I think when you do make up it clears the air. Your whole ordeal will be putting you both under so much strain but men just seem to deal with things so differently. I don’t talk to my husband about my mc at all because he made it clear he wants to pretend it never happened. As much as that hurts me I respect it hence why I’ve used these boards to talk about my feelings! Friends are pretty useless too unless they’ve been through it.
Councilling sounds like a great idea. I hope you find it helpful.
Sending you a big hug xxx

LostFox82 · 24/02/2021 07:14

@dippyegg32 I think that’s why I just go old school tracking cm I’m worried I’ll get obsessed with the kits, plus my husband is very against dtd on demand (we usually only have sex once a month not ttc!) so I worry it would be too frustrating if I test and get a peak and he won’t do it! I’ll see his next cycle goes I think.

dippyegg32 · 24/02/2021 07:55

Do you temp @LostFox82 ? I have done for years even when not ttc as I haven't been on contraception since about 2016 so have used this to avoid pregnancy up until now. It's less stressful than opks because you can't argue with what the thermometer says! There's no analysing of tests. Maybe something to consider if you want something easy in addition to cm but it can take a couple of months to establish a pattern.

Ralala · 24/02/2021 08:25

Cd1!!!!!!!!!!

What a relief. Off to EPU this morning for some hcg tracker bloods but I’m fairly confident my levels have now dropped . Roll on this cycle!!!

Jujujuberry · 24/02/2021 09:12

@PlantMummy87 Oh I’m excited for you being booked in for acupuncture! I went to mine this week, and the lady was super lovely, and she asked If I’d had acupuncture before, I said yes, for my shoulder as I put my neck out a few years ago, and within 5hours I had full range of movement again, so decided it works for me.

Anyway I told her this was for fertility as I’d just gone through my 2nd MC and I’m wanting to do everything I can to have a successful pregnancy. She explained where the pressure points will be, so one in each ankle, two in my lower abdomen, one in each wrist, one on my forehead, and one on the top of my head.. its sounded scary, but I felt none of them! And they are meant to help the brain signals to the rest of your body and provide good blood flow. She also put in an electromagnetic point in my ankle, which made it twitch at the start then it calmed down.

She also prescribed me natural pre conception vitamins which has 200mg of folic acid and 300mg of folate so together add up to 500mg (I was taking 800mg) in my other vitamins. There is also more vitamin B6 in these which supports progesterone.

All in all it was a positive experience and if nothing else will help me to relax more and ease some anxiety, plus it was nice to have a chat to someone other than my GP it felt less clinical Smile

Jam291 · 24/02/2021 09:53

Hi all,

I’m currently 36 days post MC, natural at 6 weeks, had a scan which confirmed everything had passed. Finished bleeding after a week, I’m normally a 28 day cycle... still NO sign of my period? Everything just feels so strange,I keep thinking I am having pregnancy symptoms which are probably all in my head but no signs of AF... I had EWCM at the normal time, we have been DTD but not planned just when we fancied as want no pressure on this. Have done a couple IC tests but just got a couple evap lines.
Kind of wish we used protection/ waited now 😕.
X

SuzieDeLaTour · 24/02/2021 10:27

@AMS19 oh that’s great news!! Mine is tailing off now which I’m relieved about as it was so heavy the past two days. I usually ovulate anywhere between Cd15 and CD25 (!) so you could still be ahead of me in your TWW! 😃

Badlydrawngirly · 24/02/2021 10:40

@LostFox82

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been arguing with your OH too, it really does put a strain on your relationship doesn’t it? We have made up now and it was good to get everything out in the open but I feel like we could easily get back there. I think we will have some counselling as a couple too.

I know what you mean about talking to friends, it always feels awkward because they either don’t know what to say or they end up saying the wrong thing or they just stop asking about it and you feel like they think you should be over it. I had a friend years ago say it was just cells! I don’t speak to her anymore. I am lucky to have one friend who has been through it herself and she completely gets it.

SuzieDeLaTour · 24/02/2021 10:55

@Ralala yay!!!! Roll on a nice fresh cycle! 🎉
@Jujujuberry you’re making acupuncture sound very tempting...! The idea of it has always made me a bit squeamish but I’ll definitely look into it if we don’t fall in the next few months.
@Jam291 ahhh sweetheart! Can you contact your GP/ EPU and explain you haven’t had a period? They might do an HCG blood test? Else you’ll have to keep testing every day / other day and see if the lines grow stronger. This post-MC landscape is so bloody confusing!!

SuzieDeLaTour · 24/02/2021 10:56

So I finally got my negative FRER! 5.5 weeks post ERPC - I was trying to hold off until 6 weeks but caved 😁 looks like that beast of a period flushed everything out 🤞

MeganChar1 · 24/02/2021 10:58

Hi ladies,

So I took the plunge and booked an appointment with a private consultant on Monday. Part of me feels ridiculous as I’ve had one miscarriage which may have been due to chance but part of me really wants to see if they will do any tests as I don’t want to go through this again. I’ve also realised it’s the same consultant who treated me for mild endometriosis 9 years ago and he used to scare the living daylights out of me haha, so I’m mentally preparing myself for the appointment. Luckily I’m in a position to pay private, really hope nobody thinks I’m being over the top but please tell me if I am?!

dippyegg32 · 24/02/2021 11:00

God knows what's happening, only cd6 and already getting signs of gearing up for O. Surely not yet?! The earliest this has ever happened was cd10 but usually 11-13. I want my regular cycle back!!!

Ralala · 24/02/2021 11:24

@dippyegg32 are you temping ?

I have decided to temp this cycle because I want to know when I ovulate to sort of feel more in control of it all!

dippyegg32 · 24/02/2021 11:33

Yeh I've temped for years as I haven't been on hormonal contraception since my youngest was born. Still firmly below the cover line and the one remaining opk I have in the house is negative but been having the usual one sided twinging so we'll see.

LostFox82 · 24/02/2021 11:36

@dippyegg32 no I’ve never done temp I might try that if this cycle messes up.

I’ve actually just started my af! You know what they say about women’s cycles synchronising!

29 days after erpc so pretty happy with that! I’m normally 28 but seem to ovulate v early. Let’s see how it pans out I’m normally very heavy...

AlbiMix · 24/02/2021 11:41

Thanks for the update @MeganChar1 , were you just able to search for someone and book online? Is it very expensive if you don't mind me asking? I feel the same as you maybe because like @Badlydrawngirly I also have autoimmune and thyroid issues so am extra apprehensive.

MeganChar1 · 24/02/2021 11:55

@AlbiMix I booked through the Spire hospital group I think they have hospitals all over the country so it’s worth trying through them. £140 for 20 minutes Shock but I knew I’d regret not booking it to at least see if I can get a different perspective or be entitled to more tests especially if I go on to have another mc. I just feel there was something not quite right looking at my scan photos I got from private clinic. The sac seems a bit large/weird shape compared to normal scan photos but that could have just been the angle I don’t know? Nothing was said about this at my nhs scan or private one but I just feel I need to trust my gut and see if I can get more tests, even if I can’t I’ll know that I’ve tried.

dippyegg32 · 24/02/2021 12:04

Wow seems loads of us are either on or just finished a period so we'll all be cycle buddies! I'm cd6 now, the beast was here 1-2 and then slowly tailed off by day 4.

I hope you all get the beasts you need!

Badlydrawngirly · 24/02/2021 12:24

@MeganChar1 I’m glad you got an appointment. What I’ve learned through all of these is you have to trust your instinct so if you think you need to see someone privately then absolutely do it.

I’ve just booked to see Mr Shehata but can’t get in until 14 April and I am not very patient at the best of times! I’m also seeing my consultant next week to go through all the questions I have. Mr S’s clinic have told me we shouldn’t try to conceive before we’ve seen him which is going to be so hard! I am so tempted to got elsewhere for tests but I know deep down he is the best person for me to see.
Oh god this is all so hard!

AlbiMix · 24/02/2021 12:27

Thanks @MeganChar1 , actually 140 doesn't sound that crazy expensive, I've seen worse! Especially if it brings some peace of mind. I guess it depends on follow-up, that might cost more.

Sorry for all the questions but did you just book with a gynaecologist? Had a look on the Spire website but could only choose from a really specific list of treatments (e.g. fertility tests, cervical smear etc)?

Feeling jealous of everyone's periods, I'm not even a week post MC and worrying my cycle will never get back to normal Sad

MeganChar1 · 24/02/2021 12:35

@AlbiMix I submitted an online enquiry direct to my local spire hospital and they rang me and I told them my situation and they booked me in with the consultant gynae. I also went on the “find a consultant” bit to see who there was at my local hospital.
