This thread has been running for many years and has proved invaluable for so many of us who have suffered recurrent miscarriages as we go through this incredibly tough journey.

Discussions cover immune issues, NK (natural killer) cells, thyroid issues, PGS and many many more.

Oh gosh @Lalaifa that's really sad to hear. Please take care of yourself.

@Whyisthistakingsolong if it helps i had two chromosomally abnormal pregnancies in a row and Mr S said they were unlucky but one offs. I also had karotyping and all was fine. It is worrying waiting for the results but as Mr S said its very rare.

@LaurenAB94 yeah I had a titre of 1:320. I saw a rheumatologist with those results and was investigated for lupus (as I had other symptoms). The rheumatologist said I dont have lupus but may develop an autoimmune condition as I got older. One of the articles i posted had some evidence about people with a positive ANA being linked to recurrent miscarriage. Xx

@Rebecca9876 so sorry to hear about your friend. But really pleased your scan went well xx

@Lalaifa sorry to hear about what you're going through, ttc can definitely put strain on relationships, hopefully you can work things out xx

LaurenAB94 · 26/11/2020 06:27

@KtAgs thank you that's helpful I've had 2 positive now 1:100 and 1:160 so I'll speak to my GP and see if they will look into it.

KtAgs · 26/11/2020 06:53

@LaurenAB94 without other symptoms they generally won't look annoyingly. There was a warning on my blood results about possible lupus so i was able to go through my health insurance to see someone privately.

LaurenAB94 · 26/11/2020 07:02

@KtAgs it's so annoying isn't it. The worrying thing is you don't want an autoimmune disease left untreated. I'm starting the steroids today so and we've decided to wait until Jan to try again so they have time to work. Thanks for your reply 😊 xx

Everhopeful35 · 26/11/2020 09:38

@Rebecca9876 I'm so so sorry to hear about your friend, but also very happy that your scan went well. Such a relief that your SCH is gone too! Amazing 😍

@Lalaifa Really sad to hear that you're having relationship problems. I really do hope you're able to work it out. Miscarriages are such a hard thing to bear as a couple.

@LaurenAB94 Great news that you have your results and a plan of action!

@VenusStarr Good luck on your 2ww!

@Whyisthistakingsolong I'm sorry you're feeling anxious after your cytogenetic result. We had a trisomy with our last miscarriage and I felt anxious after that too. Translocations are really rare, though. We've had more abnormalities than most in our IVF rounds, but my husband and I don't have anything wrong with us. When will you find out the result?

Update from me: the bleeding has completely disappeared! It only lasted about an hour and was pinky-brown. I'm hoping it's a good sign but we'll see when I test on Saturday. x

VenusStarr · 26/11/2020 09:46

Great news that the bleeding has disappeared, very good sign for Saturday 🤞 for you @Everhopeful35

My temperature increased again this morning, so hopefully tomorrow fertility friend will confirm ovulation as Tuesday when I do it tomorrow. Started the lovely cyclogest last night 😒 I'm doing them morning and night to spread things out a bit.

Everhopeful35 · 26/11/2020 10:08

Gah, just as I sent that message the bleeding came back!! It's very dark brown (Sorry, tmi) and there's not loads, but it's making me anxious. I've had implantation bleeding with two pregnancies but never over a couple of days. My husband is banning me from testing until Saturday, which I guess is sensible as we've had a chemical before, but it feels so far away.

@VenusStarr Ah the lovely cyclogest! I also spaced them out and it helped me cope with the side effects better.

VenusStarr · 26/11/2020 10:53

Oh no! I'm sorry @Everhopeful35 I'm still hoping it's implantation for you ❤️ I've never had a positive earlier than 10dpo (not for the want of squinting!) so it might be best to wait. Its torturous though xx

Everhopeful35 · 26/11/2020 11:09

@VenusStarr Yes, me neither. My earliest positive was at 9dpo. I've just spoken to my consultant at ARGC and she told me to step up the cyclogest pessaries to three a day, just in case it's because of a drop in progesterone. Got my calculations wrong - my period is due Sunday/Monday, so I guess it could still be period coming early too. All of this is such a mind f*ck, isn't it?!

Whyisthistakingsolong · 26/11/2020 21:13

Thanks @VenusStarr @Everhopeful35 @KtAgs @LookingforAnswers86

Saw Mr S today and he was very firm in saying trisomy chromosome 16 is always spontaneous and there's little to get excited about as he put it.

Had a day 21 scan today. He saw cysts meaning I have mild PCOS, NHS have missed this multiple times! He also saw something that's either scar tissue or retained miscarriage, so need a repeat next month to see if my period flushes it Out. Oh and lining was thinner than he'd like at 7mm.so not a great visit, but I feel so reassured by him, definitely in the right place. Sorry bit of an essay!

@Everhopeful35 did the spotting stop? 🤞For Saturday x

VenusStarr · 26/11/2020 21:27

I'm glad you feel reassured today @Whyisthistakingsolong I had some retained tissue and my GP prescribed a course of antibiotics and I think it helped my body pass the tissue and then I had a period. I wonder if your lining was thin because you might have retained tissue? Sounds like a full on day, I hope you're OK ❤️

Hope the extra pessary helps @Everhopeful35 🤞

Everhopeful35 · 27/11/2020 08:51

@Whyisthistakingsolong I'm sorry you had a bit of a day of it yesterday. That's so annoying that the mild PCOS wasn't picked up before. But re the lining, don't panic too much - I had a chat to my ARGC doctor about this yesterday, as Mr S pointed out mine was a bit thin too, and she said 'that's what cyclogest is for'. She reminded me that when I had my IVF transfer in June, my lining went from something like 6.5/7mm before egg collection to 9mm by transfer day, and all I was taking was cyclogest.

The brown spotting continued very lightly until yesterday afternoon, but then completely disappeared again. I've had bad cramps for days now, which is unusual for me so far in advance of period. But that could be the cyclogest. The whole thing has left me very confused. Not sure if I'm just having an odd month or if it's a positive sign. Will test tomorrow and see...

Whyisthistakingsolong · 27/11/2020 15:29

Thanks @VenusStarr I might call my GP.
@Everhopeful35 thank you too! Interesting about the progesterone, is that the case even though u take it after ovulation though? I would have thought it might be too late as implantation might have happened? Keep us posted tomo x

Everhopeful35 · 28/11/2020 09:19

Hi ladies, I got my BFP this morning! Very scared but tentatively hopeful. The spotting stopped yesterday and ever since I've been feeling horribly sick. Never had sickness this early before (usually only from six weeks), has anyone else? Should I call Dr S's office on Monday? x

LookingforAnswers86 · 28/11/2020 09:59

@Everhopeful35 aw lovely news to wake up to 🥰!!

I have only ever had a few days of feeling some sickness and they have always been later on...

VenusStarr · 28/11/2020 10:05

🎉🎉🎉 Amazing news @Everhopeful35!! Yes call them on Monday - I can't remember if you're on intralipids? You're 10dpo aren't you? I'm counting down to my test day... 👀 X

Everhopeful35 · 28/11/2020 10:18

Ah thanks ladies! It's such a weird feeling being pregnant again. I feel happy but really terrified too. I've already started talking to my husband about what we do if I miscarry over Christmas - very defeatist. Yes, I think I'm roughly 10dpo - I took my trigger injection on the evening of Monday 16th. Had intralipids at the clinic that day too. Good luck on your 2ww @VenusStarr! xx

Hazlet2 · 28/11/2020 10:23

@Everhopeful35 Brilliant news! So pleased for you! Could you call ARGC in this situ rather than waiting for Monday? I'm not sure how it all works as new to this Xx

VenusStarr · 28/11/2020 10:24

I'm so pleased for you @Everhopeful35 you're giving me lots of hope too ❤️ they'll book you in for more intralipids I think. I understand you thinking about miscarriage again, it's a protection for you but I've got every hope that this is the one. Take it each day 🥰
I feel like time sped up until yesterday and now it's dragging...! I'm hopeful but have already ordered ovulation tests for next cycle xx

Hazlet2 · 28/11/2020 10:26

@Everhopeful35 not surprised you're scared - totally understandable with what you've been through. Take care of yourself this weekend, maybe distract yourself as much as poss! I have everything crossed for you🤞x

Hazlet2 · 28/11/2020 10:35

Hope everyone is doing ok. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend @Rebecca9876 and I hope you're ok @lailafa - it's such a strain on a relationship. It's affected me and my husband a lot, there's so much pressure. Taking a break helped but I know that's easier said than done. Sending love to you all.

I had some weird pre period bleeding just this morning. I'm 11dpo and not on any treatment. Got humira waiting for me in the fridge as was going to take in new year. Now the bleeding has completely disappeared. It was quite red and I had no cramps whatsoever, very unusual for me (have also had implantation bleeding before and it was light and brown coloured - sorry tmi). Don't want to get my hopes up to come crashing down again! xx

KtAgs · 28/11/2020 10:36

Hooray @Everhopeful35! Great news. I'd email them - I've never had any luck over the phone. Email the office and nurses jointly and one of them will pick it up fairly quickly. I felt the same at my BFP - but just feel confident in your approach as you've done everything possible to give this pregnancy the best possible chance. 🤞🤞 Take care xxx

Rebecca9876 · 28/11/2020 10:45

Brilliant news @Everhopeful35!!! Yes definitely contact them as you need intralipids within four days of the positive test even though had it at ovulation (at least that was my experience also doing superovulation on the complex plan). I also always email as can’t get through on the phone, but they’re very responsive on emails (I email the nurses and then also the main office address to cover both bases but nurses usually pick up quickly). I can’t say don’t worry about miscarriage as I have constantly and still do, but at least know it’s totally normal, we are all here if you need to talk, and the odds are still in your favour so do enjoy it as well. So happy for you! xx

Kittykat08 · 28/11/2020 10:45

@Everhopeful35 amazing news! Take it easy and relax hopefully this is the one 🤞xx
