This thread has been running for many years and has proved invaluable for so many of us who have suffered recurrent miscarriages as we go through this incredibly tough journey.

Discussions cover immune issues, NK (natural killer) cells, thyroid issues, PGS and many many more.

Sorry - should be @everhopeful35!

@KtAgs thanks for creating this one :) I hope you're getting on ok xx

KtAgs · 12/10/2020 07:31

Thanks @holdingon2hope. I am ok. Sh*ing it a bit for my scan on Thursday. Should be 9 weeks by then. My pregnancies with chromosomal problems had ended by then so keep symptom checking myself. It's gonna be a lonnnnnng week. How are you doing? Xx

HoldingOn2Hope · 12/10/2020 08:38

@KtAgs Awww I'm going to keep everything crossed for you, I know you will be fine. It's hard not to symptom check and I'm sure the worry is constant.
I'm ok, due to test tomorrow 😑 I have no symptoms though and I always have done before a bfp. I'm also testing earlier then I usually have done as I had the trigger on day 11, it's always been given to me on day 13-14. Does it take about 2 days to ovulate from trigger? My temp rise was on day 14 so I'm confused. Dr S is also reducing my g-f injections but I'm thinking if I haven't had a bfp with all them good sized follicles how on earth will I get one with 1 follicle! I had 2 good sized ones this month and a few smaller ones. By reducing it I may not even end up with 1.

KtAgs · 12/10/2020 09:07

Thank @HoldingOn2Hope - I really appreciate it. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. I ended up doing a 4 hour hold at the end of the day when I tested as I had such a busy day. I hate how testing takes over normal living as well. Good luck xx

You sound like an expert in Gonal-F so I don't know the answer I"m afraid. What I would try and hold onto is it only take one good sperm at the right time so it really could be your month - regardless of follicle. It sounds really stressful though - as if this was process was easy anyway?! Is it worth trying to speak to Dr S as well as checking with some of the ladies here?

xx

@KtAgs thank you, I'm going to call the clinic. I'm on day 23 today and find this testing on 10dpo so early but at the sam time Dr S is adamant that we should have bfp's by now if it's a preg.
I just don't know whether I want to waste another £500 on the injections when I'm not really having much luck with them.
I always get sore boobs, achy legs whenever I've had a bfp and I have nothing. But then again it's all the meds we take that cover the symptoms too.
I'm keeping everything crossed tightly for you, I hope this is your rainbow 🌈 xx

KtAgs · 12/10/2020 09:44

FWIW @holdingon2hope I felt the same and my positive came at day 11 (as I said I found it stressful testing so early when I wasn't on steroids and the nurses said do it a day after) and on a FRER it came up straight away. I hadn't really noticed any different symptoms that stuck out because the bloomin' progesterone mimics pregnancy symptoms anyway! It ain't over until the pregnancy test sings...

HoldingOn2Hope · 12/10/2020 09:52

@KtAgs I think what I find confusing is when does ovulation happen after the trigger shot 🤔 normally I track ovulation but I don't bother anymore but maybe I should as then I kind of know what day I'm on. He gave me the trigger on a Weds, which means I'd ovulate on Friday maybe but I didn't get a temp rise til Saturday so I may not even be 10dpo. Who knows 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm going to discuss it with him on my next appt and just give the injections another go next week if AF shows up!

KtAgs · 12/10/2020 10:01

@everhopeful35, I read your last message on the older thread and as it was the last one, I wanted to reply on the new thread. If your AMH is good, and you have a really good response in egg retrieval does that not speak to a sperm issue? I'm no expert but I also have good AMH according to Dr S and the sperm issue was definitely the implication from Dr S with my last two losses (which were abnormal). Have the IVF clinic given any advice? I'm so sorry you're had a tough weekend. xx

KtAgs · 12/10/2020 10:03

Ah I see @HoldingOn2Hope - its in relation to the trigger, of which I know nothing - sorry. I think a few others know more about that than me so hopefully they reply soon? Do you think I may have missed some people? If so, please do tag them! xx

HoldingOn2Hope · 12/10/2020 10:07

@ everhopeful35 - Sorry I cant seem to tag.
I was just going to say the same, has DH had his speech dna checked? Sorry you've had crap news, as if this whole process isn't stressful enough. Ivf is the next stage for us I think too, I don't know if it's worth you booking a free webinar with Dr Gorgy as he goes into a lot of detail re ivf/pgs and it's free where you can ask q's. I did that a few weeks ago as didn't want to keep paying for consultations.
My AMH is really good too and I've had an excellent response to meds, DH has sperm dna issues which have now resolved although I've still not had a bfp. I don't know whether you've already said but are you with Dr S too?

HoldingOn2Hope · 12/10/2020 10:10

@everhopeful35 I also agree with your DH as you've paid a lot for the Humira and give it a go naturally. Whatever you decide, don't be hard on yourself. We all know how tough this journey is and here to support. Xx

LookingforAnswers86 · 12/10/2020 11:14

@everhopeful35 I am so sorry to hear your news, its very unfair! I am also no expert on PGS IVF but it was suggested as a potential option to us ( not one I want to go down yet) and at the time i read this massive forum on it and it did take a number of people 2/3 times sometimes to get 1 or 2 normal embryos and most went on to be successful...although I do know obviously it depends on age/ OR etc. So if you ever decide to go down that route again maybe next time you would get a different result but I am sure it is hard to deal with the news given you have such a good AMH and are young-ish age wise. Thinking of you x

LookingforAnswers86 · 12/10/2020 11:14

@KtAgs Lots of luck for Thursday

Everhopeful35 · 12/10/2020 12:05

Thank you ladies, I really appreciate your support and advice. DH has had his speech fragmentation done - it wasn't the comet test, it was the other one (unsure if the name), but he was only slightly elevated. You need to be under 15 I think and he was 16.9. Since then, he's been on Impyrl and a whole load if other supplements, as advised by a fertility nutritionist. I just feel sick thinking about how many bad embryos we've produced. Seven were sent for testing but we also have to count the two embryos from our transfer in July, which resulted in a Trisomy 20 from one twin (the other miscarried/disappeared on scan too early to be tested). That means we've had, in all likelihood, nine failures due to chromosomes. I would like to try IVF/PGS again but it feels like it'll take a miracle to break this pattern. But perhaps you're right @LookingforAnswers86 - each time is different and next time it'll work. I'm so scared the doctor will suggest donor egg and sworn though 😔 Not ready for that conversation yet. @HoldingOn2Hope Thanks for the encouragement. My feeling now is to try naturally too - perhaps we'll succeed and be one of those miracle stories you hear!! The only thing is, other than the Humira I don't have a protocol from Dr S yet for steroids and other drugs, as we were going to discuss that at the next appointment just before our transfer (which obviously isn't happening now). Do you think it'd be reckless to try without any steroids etc? DH thinks that if the Humira has worked then that's enough...

Everhopeful35 · 12/10/2020 12:13

@KtAgs I also meant to say, good luck for your scan one Thursday!

Lalaifa · 12/10/2020 18:41

Hello everyone,

Good luck with the testing tomorrow, @HoldingOn2Hope. I have my fingers crossed it is bfp for both of us. As I am also testing tomorrow. :-)

@KtAgs, good luck with you scan on Thursday!

@Everhopeful35 Did doctor S prescribe you hydroxy? If he did, then I would start taking it straightaway, but then, my issue is NK cells so I don't know if you got diagnosed with them. Either way I would maybe send an email to the clinic explaining the situation. I did this month cos I had a scare my lining wasn't thickening this month, so asked for an opinion and they replied pretty quickly. Thankfully everything was fine.

LookingforAnswers86 · 12/10/2020 19:10

@jellystar23 I think I remember you saying you had your first appointment with Dr S a few days / weeks ago? I was just wondering if he mentioned what his protocol was at the moment in terms of prescribing steroids / hydroxy with COVID? I have my first appointment in 2 weeks time and worried he wont prescribe certain drugs etc. If anyone else had a recent appointment too please Jump in...thanks:)

Jellystar23 · 12/10/2020 20:25

@LookingforAnswers86 he didn’t, but I didn’t ask either sorry. He wanted me on hydroxy straight away so have started that. He is doing Covid antibody tests too, and I’ve recently tested positive so if I’m honest I’m hoping my antibody test comes back positive too so I have more options treatment wise (not sure if this is why he’s doing the test, or whether I’ve just presumed it).

LRL12 · 13/10/2020 09:28

@hippo20

LRL12 · 13/10/2020 12:27

@LookingforAnswers86
I was prescribed Hydroxy in June so right in the middle of Covid, he seems to be prescribing Hydroxy more as you don’t need to shield whilst taking this as it’s an immune moderated rather then a depressant. Which I believe Pred is?
Hope this helps a little x

LookingforAnswers86 · 13/10/2020 13:12

Thanks girls :)

I am worrying that I will have to wait a few weeks for blood results and then wait another few weeks if given hydroxy. I am surrounded by alot of pregnancy announcements at the mo :( so really want to get back to trying but I know I need to wait.

@LRL12 How are you getting on?

HarrietM87 · 13/10/2020 13:15

Hello, just saw this thread pop up in active and thought I’d say hello. Massive congrats @KtAgs! Fantastic news! Wishing you all the best for your next scan.

LRL12 · 13/10/2020 14:03

@LookingforAnswers86
When you go to your second appointment with Dr S to get your results you’ll also get your plan and any medication/ treatment the same day so you can start straight away depending on your plan, so hopefully only couple weeks until your seeing him again,

I’m doing ok thank you I have my 8 week scan next Thursday so just keeping everything crossed atm. I have awful sickness that I’ve not had before so hoping this is a good sign. ☺️

HoldingOn2Hope · 13/10/2020 21:07

Hey @HarrietM87 I was only thinking about you yday, not long to go for you now :)) xx
