Hi ladies! Our last thread was automatically closed (again) because we reached the 1,000 post limit (twice!). I was hoping we would be able to start a new thread called First Pregnancy Post-MMC, but unfortunately we are not all quite there yet (BUT some of us are!! congrats!!!). I know we will all be pregnant someday soon and that this will end up being a lucky thread! In the meantime, I hope you will all join me as we continue on this journey together. You have all been an invaluable source of inspiration, support, and kindness for me and I want to thank you for making me feel less alone in this. This thread and the ladies on it have been a source of inspiration for me, which is why I created this blog to help other women find information and support after miscarriage: mcandbeyond.weebly.com/

About me, for any newcomers: 31 years old, first pregnancy ended in an MMC in February at 12 weeks (baby passed at nine), D&C the next day, found out five weeks later that it was a partial molar pregnancy and had follow-up with CX hospital until mid-May. Second early MC in April (we weren't supposed to be getting pregnant because of the molar, but didn't know about it at the time). Now TTC again nearly four months after the first MMC and so so ready for a baby!

Thanks @3204ECL how have you been?

@Catconfusion you are absolutely right. I’m still not quite sure, took another FRER this morning and the line is there again. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s stronger either but I’m not sure if it would be in a day. Still roughly 2 days I think until AF is due. I’m not testing again! I think your scan will be fine, got a good feeling for you 😘

Catconfusion · 07/08/2019 10:21

@Kiki061190 thank you, I really hope so. Scan is at 12.30. I have all of the butterflies in my tummy but I'm sure whatever happens I'll be ok.

I'd have said it would take a bit longer to get a stronger line if it's just implanted. I took loads of ics as I had a big box so I could see the gradual progression. I don't think FRERs are the best for line progression. What I'm noticing with mine is the pregnancy line is starting to take colour from the control line. Hopefully that's a good sign. Just do whatever keeps you sane. If waiting to pass AF day helps, wait for then. I'd have said it will pass with such a good line early on. With my chemical pregnancy the line was very faint and barely had colour. Xx

Congratulations @Kiki061190! If it helps at all this is what the difference was after a week in my first (successful) pregnancy, it took a few days to start changing.

I’m going to have to find a new thread with all these bfps!

Good luck for your scan @Catconfusion

@3204ECL thanks for your kind words! How are you doing? You must be nearing 14 or 15 weeks now, right? That’s amazing! When is your next scan?

@bananamonkey - don't leave me.....

Catconfusion · 07/08/2019 11:48

Arh @bananamonkey please don't go. I really hope yours comes very soon. I'm so sorry. I found it hard to see lots of pregnancy chat. I'll keep a bit quieter after this scan as I'm sure I'll be less anxious xx

bananamonkey · 07/08/2019 12:19

It was (mostly) in jest, I’m not leaving! Although I think I am close to giving up on the idea, its still nice to see happy updates Smile

Kiki061190 · 07/08/2019 12:49

I was out with my mum this morning, showed her my test and she just said not to worry. She’s always my go to for anything and I literally confide in her about everything! I was telling her about my cramps etc and feeling like AF is on the way. My OH family are coming to stay tomorrow until Monday so I won’t be testing with them here! Just a waiting game to see if AF shows....

Kiki061190 · 07/08/2019 12:50

@Catconfusion thinking of you! Hoping the scan goes well ♥️

SunStruck · 07/08/2019 17:33

@Catconfusion hope all went well at scan xxx

Catconfusion · 07/08/2019 17:54

@Kiki061190 I think it's perfectly normal to feel like AF is coming. I've had some mild cramping. There's so much changing going on in there. Xx

Thanks @SunStruck all looks ok! Xx

So the good news is I don't have cysts other than a few more than normal due to irregular cycles. She wouldn't even call them polycystic.

The not so good news is we couldn't see the sac or any evidence of the pregnancy yet other than a thickened lining. She did say if I am 4 weeks it's too soon. I did hope there might be the beginning of something to put my mind at rest about ectopic.

The sonographer actually upset me a bit. I knew there was a good chance we wouldn't see the sac yet. However she just wasn't very reassuring. She also kept saying I'm 6 weeks pregnant and there should be a sac if that's the case by my LMP. She just couldn't get her head around the fact I ovulate late in my cycle and it's only two weeks since so I must be about 4 weeks. She wouldn't even comment on the pregnancy until I pushed her as they were trying to usher me out the door. I was obviously anxious. She wouldn't even show me the screen. I've never never had that before. When I went about cysts in my early 20s when my ovaries were polycystic both times I was shown the screen and they explained. This lady gave very blunt answers to questions and was just a little bit abrasive.

Anyway everything looks normal for very early pregnancy but we'll see more in a few weeks at our 7 week scan. Xx

Kiki061190 · 07/08/2019 18:18

@Catconfusion how rude of her! She should know that your LMP isn’t always what you go by unless you have a standard 28 day cycle roughly which you don’t have. That’s irritating especially since you have confirmed O on cycle day 31. 3 weeks until your scan!

Catconfusion · 07/08/2019 18:32

@Kiki061190 exactly! I can not believe I'm the first lady she's seen with irregular cycles. It's very misleading to say I'm 6 weeks, especially since no sac yet so I felt a bit triggered when she corrected me twice when I said I was 4 weeks. There just didn't seem to be much compassion. I was clearly a bit shaky. It would of been nice for her to show me the lining and explain how she knows it's thicker than normal showing likely pregnancy etc. Instead I left more anxious and scared of ectopic. Anyway I'm feeling quite nauseous and my test was very bright this morning so today I'm pregnant. Obviously at 4 plus 1 it's super early but I just need to be optimistic I guess.

I really hope we get to go on this crazy journey together as we're quite close! Xx

Kiki061190 · 07/08/2019 19:01

@Catconfusion yes! I do have a standard 28 day cycle and usually O on cycle day 15/16 so I kind of can go by my LMP. It shows how little she actually knows, it’s not one rule fits all! Yes I’m 3 + 6 today I think 🤔 so we must only be a couple of days apart!I’ve been having twinges on both sides. I’m not sure why but I’m struggling to remember my last pregnancy and how I felt at the time. I’m not sure if maybe I’ve blocked it out or something? I’m just hoping AF stays away!

SunStruck · 07/08/2019 19:10

@Catconfusion that is so rude of her and not compassionate at all! You know your dates, you know you're pregnant 😃. I also ovulate late - day 32-33 usually.

Catconfusion · 07/08/2019 19:55

@Kiki061190 I think that's normal. I definitely had twinges on both sides. I was convinced I'd start bleeding and then it went away at just over 4 weeks. I think it's common to get AF pains as the body has geared up for it before the pregnancy so once that's fully implanted it should go away. Xx

Catconfusion · 07/08/2019 19:57

Thanks @SunStruck it's kind of ridiculous. In fact it's really rare to ovulate on day 14. Admittedly if you're close like you @Kiki061190 its fine but it's way out on long cycles.

This was an nhs appointment but at a private clinic they use. We were going to get prices in case we need to pay for a scan but after the appointment didn't bother. Xx

MrsMGE · 07/08/2019 22:03

Hi ladies. First of all, huge congratulations @Kiki061190, I was clearly wrong re September BFP date! So, so pleased for you, and fingers crossed ❤️❤️❤️ How are you feeling?

@Catconfusion That's a terrible sonographer, clearly in a wrong job. You know your body and as much as it's hard, you got to try to ignore her. Without sounding arrogant, I sometimes think at this stage after all we've been through, read, and how well we understand our bodies, we may well know more than some professionals.

So we had yo cancel our holiday. Our beloved family member has suddenly passed away and we're overwhelmed with grief. I could not imagine this year would go the way it has so far, it's indescribable. I was hoping for a break after losing the baby and now this happened. Obviously head not in the right place to do anything, I barely get up and force myself to have a shower and leave the house, so no hope for any positive baby news soon. I am truly devastated.

zoomies1 · 07/08/2019 22:12

@MrsMGE I'm so sorry for your loss. There are no words to make you feel better so just be kind to yourself and allow yourself to do whatever you need to do and feel however you need to feel.

It a really awful thing so just give yourself time. xx

zoomies1 · 07/08/2019 22:23

@Catconfusion I'm sorry your sonographer was so insensitive. I guess all you can do is remember your actual dates and try to move forward to your next scan with as much excitement as you can muster.

It seems to be a real mixed bag. Some a really lovely and compassionate and others are rather brusk and cold.

SunStruck · 08/08/2019 02:47

@MrsMGE I am so so sorry to hear xxx allow yourselves time to heal ❤️

Kiki061190 · 08/08/2019 07:56

@MrsMGE I am so so so sorry! These things are just awful! I remember when we went in for our medical management and my OH gran died suddenly that day, we just felt like it would never get better. Sending lots and lots of love your way ♥️ Time really is the only healer. Thanks so much for your kind words, I’m just waiting to see if AF shows in the next day or so.

Ladies I’ve made a Part 4 of this thread because that’s it now full ♥️
