Monten, so sorry to read this Sad Sad Sad

Sunandrainbow · 06/08/2015 14:45

monten - am so sorry lovely. It's just soul destroying isn't it. You will get through this no matter how bleak things seem now, but the waiting is grim. Hope you have someone there with you taking care of you? xxx

OneDayMaybe1 · 06/08/2015 14:53

monten I am so sorry to hear your news. Nothing I can say will help ease your pain, but I understand what you are going through (been there twice myself) and I wish I could give you a giant hug. You are in my thoughts and prayers at what must seem like a very bleak time. You will get through it, though. You will find the strength. And we are all here to try to support you in whatever way we can.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 06/08/2015 14:55

Monten so sorry re your scan. And barking sorry that you didn't get a BFP.

March glad your scan went well.

So Facebook, who is able to add me to the group? More likely to keep up via there as I have FB on my phone, but only use my iPad for mumsnet ( mainly because I can never remember my log on details but the iPad remembers it for me lol).

Out of interest, to anyone who went to Coventry and got high NK results, how much prednisolone did you get prescribed and when were you meant to take it from/until?

OneDayMaybe1 · 06/08/2015 14:58

barking I am sending you big hugs. Words seem so useless in times like this. As with everyone else, I am crossing my fingers that perhaps the test was just too early... but I know that hope can sometimes be just as cruel as reality when things do not go as planned. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

OneDayMaybe1 · 06/08/2015 15:03

March I am so happy to hear your news - what a day of contrasts, but we must all take strength from the positive, happy occurrences whenever we can. Make sure you are resting up and enjoying this latest victory on your journey.

As for me, I am heading to my second acupuncture session in a little while. I had a lot of pain in the night and with each day this week my optimism seems to dwindle. In my darker hours, I think 'why should this time be any different?' I am not doing anything differently - no new medication, no nothing - so why should No.4 have a happier resolution than Numbers 1-3? In my brighter hours, I believe that one day my chance will come - maybe this time, maybe not.

Hopefully, I shall return from acupuncture having rediscovered my Qi and feeling more relaxed. Watch this space!

Justonemoretime · 06/08/2015 15:06

Would anyone like a copy of Prof Regan's miscarriage book? PM me and I'll pop it in the post.

Minnie74 · 06/08/2015 15:31

Oh god monten I'm so so sorry. It's just totally shit and awful. And so sorry you have to wait. I hope you're being well looked after. The hugest hugs Flowers

march so glad your scan went well. Smile

It feels selfish to write this when there's been sad news but our scan went fine. Measuring bang on 6+5 and saw the heartbeat. Consultant was happy I feel sick. Next scan in two weeks (looks like we're scan buddies march) relieved for today but got a long way to go to get past the next danger zone at 11 weeks. Thanks everyone for the good thoughts this morning x

bakingtins · 06/08/2015 15:39

monten I am so sorry. It's unbelievably shit. You know if any of us could take your pain away we would do it in a heartbeat.

march and minnie congrats on good scans.

loopy I had high NK cells and was on 20mg of pred a day from BFP until end of week 10 then tapering off for 2 weeks.

Marchgirl · 06/08/2015 15:52

Great news minnie. Scan buddies indeed xx
loopy, my steroid protocol is the same as baking, so i think that must be the standard one they use, as i know baking was very high nk (over 15%??) and i was only moderately high (7.9%)

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 06/08/2015 15:56

Barking Sad. Hope you're ok.

And Monten, so sorry you've had bad news.

March and Minnie that's fab news!! So pleased for you

Barking so sorry for your bfn I'm hoping Saturday is a different story

Monten so so sorry to hear that, and that you've now got that awful wait and going back, it's really harsh. I've been there twice too and I know how you feel. But however dark it seems you will get through this, promise. We are here if you need us. Big hug x

Loopy I've got mumsnet thread constantly open on my iPhone in Safari, can you do that?

girliesaints · 06/08/2015 17:22

Monten, so sorry it wasn't better news. I was in a similar position with others on here having good scans when mine wasn't (although no fault of their own) big hugs x

Minnie, glad to hear it was good news for you x

Currently sat in business longue after business trip away and having cheeky ????to celebrate and commiserate for the news today x

patienceisvirtuous · 06/08/2015 17:32

So sorry monten :(

mrsdiddlydoo · 06/08/2015 17:41

monten I'm so sorry it wasn't a better scan. Hope you're being looked after. We're all here for the long week ahead and whatever comes next xx

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 06/08/2015 17:44

Good news March and Minnie. Bumble, will contact you re Facebook... nervous about being 'unveiled'. And also my first ever Mumsnet PM!

mrsb0710 · 06/08/2015 18:47

I just had a thought. Whilst pregnant the second time I was on high dose steroids until about week 10 due to a flare of my crohns. By my scan and mmc at 12 weeks I had tapered off.
Maybe related?
Not that I'm for self medicating but if standard tests don't show anything and I can't get to Coventry I can take baby aspirin and prednisone following the protocol? I have a bunch of leftover prednisone.

I'd hate to think that if I'd just stayed on the steroids it may have been a different story, but I guess I cant really know.

sebsmummy1 · 06/08/2015 18:50

Monten I'm so sorry to hear your news. Life really is a cruel bastard sometimes. We are all here for you darling xxxx

bootles · 06/08/2015 18:54

Minnie great news, really pleased for you!

Re NK cells I was on the same, but am now panicking as I started to taper off steroids at the start of week 10, not the end of week 10. I did in fact e-mail Coventry at the time to check I was doing the right thing but never heard back - I had a scan at 14 weeks showing things were OK but still worrying.

bootles · 06/08/2015 18:57

Mrsb I don't think it would have made a difference - the theory is that around week 9/10, the placenta starts to take over and the baby is big enough for the nk cells not to be an issue. Understand the concerns about everything you can think of though.

mrsb0710 · 06/08/2015 18:59

Thanks bootles I'm going to ask about the aspirin though. Maybe it wont actually do anything apart from make me feel better about it emotionally.
Such a mine field when looking for answers.

clairemorgan81 · 06/08/2015 19:02

I'm so sorry scan wasn't positive today monten. hope you have lots of support. it's just so shit. lots of love Thanks xx

clairemorgan81 · 06/08/2015 19:02
