Bellende* what a lovely post and happy ending after hearing of your journey over last three years, just shows it can all end happily.

Freckle I hope you're feeling better today, it does really get you like that at times, and saps your energy when you have to keep chasing up others. Sorry to hear of your fuckwit boss.

Barking love your response for freckle boss

Cloud good luck!!

Girlie I know what you mean the feeling of increasing your hours is another reminder no sibling yet. Not that I've increased mine but these little milestones that come up just remind us that it wasn't how it was meant to be by now, hard.

Minnie hope you get through your danger zone ok next week and have a lovely holiday

Having lovely relaxing time away at the spa, even had a few wines last night and cheese and dippy eggs for breakfast!

Belleende · 18/07/2015 13:09

Glad your spa is going well emerald
myself and dp took ourselves on a spa break valentines before last. The hotel was also hosting a gypsy wedding. You can imagine how relaxing that was.

Flen, I used grated ginger in boiling water. It was miraculous for sickness for me. Had previously dismissed it as an old wives tale after trying a couple of ginger nut biscuits but apparently they don't have a lot of actual ginger in.
I was so miserable through nausea with first pregnancies, so was so happy to find it did actually work during 5th. I did feel a bit like a crack addict having to have a secret stash with me at all times to take every four hours. (I did start with a teaspoon of powdered ginger in water - it worked but gave me an awful cough.)
The only thing is it's a natural blood-thinner so shouldn't be used with blood thinning drugs. I felt so ill I was prepared to take my chances but probably better to check with doctor.

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 18/07/2015 15:23

I've a feeling ginger is better for nausea than sickness if that makes sense?
It sounds really ungrateful because we're meant to be reassured by feeling rubbish but even after history of m/c, the relentless nausea did push me to the brink of depression. And then it stops and you're depressed for a different reason. Sad

Thanks for all the tips guys. I've had horrible sickness in every pregnancy and was still vomiting for two weeks even after the last mc was confirmed (so everyone who says "it's a good sign!" can DO ONE). Am going for the eating all the time approach this time, but might try the grated ginger too. march what you said is really helpful, thank you. Unfortunately pregnancy seems to really screw my sleep up too, so I am knackered which definitely makes it worse.

Marchgirl · 18/07/2015 17:05

I think there's a massive pressure for anyone who has suffered mc to be 'grateful' of all the pg symptoms like sickness. Whilst they might be mildly comforting at the start, they can be completely debilitating for some people. At my worst i could even take care of myself and same as you, flen, my sickness continued for 3wks after mc diagnosis (Worst. Christmas. Ever), so i don't even find it particularly comforting.
My best things for last time were dried mango, plain pasta with mild cheese, shortbread, callippo ice lollies, lucosade sport (the flat one - good for meetings to keep me going without food) and oddities (cracker things). This is quite a variety, but with dd i couldn't manage most of these. You just need to find the things that work for you.

Just dropping in quickly..

cloud that is wonderful news, very glad to read it! xxx

flen poor you..it's grim. I have been panicking when I had a few hours/half a day with no symptoms, but then they come back with a vengeance. Still very much there and I am managing to find it reassuring but its very waring.I was going to say ice lollies but it sounds like you already have that up your sleeve. Apparently with ginger it has to be the real thing and taken regularly. Agree with march that tiredness (I never get enough sleep and am really noticing it) and not eating regularly make it much worse. march I want to cry for you at the thought of you crying trying to put food in your mouth previously - really hope the pred has a good side effect for you in that respect this time. flen it sounds like you suffer really badly too. Hugs and keep eating xx

bootles · 18/07/2015 22:30

Sorry not to name check all, hope those who are struggling today find tomorrow is a better day x
